Hey! Thanks for another interesting and useful video, Victoria. I wish you could be my teacher, you are so good at explaining steps and why we have to do it that way. The barre is so boring? Oh god, I could spend three hours a day working at the barre and never get tired of it! I started ballet at 24 and that's what I loved most. I dreaded the moment when we were told "to the center, girls", basically cos my balance is terrible and was much more difficult for me to concentrate than at the barre. I like all the battements, except for the grand one. I am so inflexible that I never really got my legs higher than 45º, or even less. I LOVE the fondus most. I don't really like the rond de jambe cos I had to struggle to keep my hips in the right place, and I sort of felt stupid because everybody was more or less good at it (my mate dancers were girls aged 7-12, in 2004 there were not adult ballet classes) and I wasn't. It was a challenge, indeed. I hope you feel well soon, take care of yourself and let yourself be taken care of :)
I love the frappe combinations where we turn away from the barre and do those little serees then those pointe-plies thingies in between sets. I never did figure out exactly how to do that combo.
Thank you for giving us lessons even when you are not well. Hope you heal and feel better soon!
