    I know the video is three years old but I see comments from the last couple months so I'd like to share my experience with The Remote and the issue I ran into.
    I paired a Hero 9 Black to The Remote (fw 1.2 at that time). Worked well over the years with minor issues.
    Last year I bought a Hero 11 black to use multicam mode with both cameras. When pairing the 11 it forces The Remote to update to firmware 2.00. After that I can toggle the modes on GoPro 9 but am unable to changes options. So I can use The Remote for start/ stop recording and changing options on Hero 11 but not on Hero 9.
    I have mounted my cameras on my motorbike for multiple angles and need to change video options from time to time.
    GoPro knows about this issue but doesn't come up with any solution so far. For full functions on Hero 9 you can reset The Remote to fw 1.2 (files from the internet) and everything is fine. But if you pair hero 11 again troubles will start again, too.
    I have no info if this occurs to any combination of different Heros. I have it with Hero 9 and 11 Black.
    Kind greetings Tim

    Your videos are the definitive guides to this new remote on TH-cam right now, and have helped me heaps. Thank-you.

    Another nice and very thorough review! Friendly tip, if you want the cameras to record in different modes, ex. Cam 1 video, cam 2 time lapse and cam 3 photo, on the camera you can change the default preset (start-up) mode for each camera respectively in Preferences. Then in Multicam, press the mode button until you see that each camera is in its default preset (start-up) mode. It’s kinda like a 4th mode unique to Multicam: default preset > video > photo > time lapse.

    We film hunts and use GoPros as third-angle cams, which makes the videos so much better. Half the time the cameras do not turn on at all, though. When they do, those delays are absolutely neutering when you wait for hours only to miss the crucial third-angle shot. GoPros can be so epic and also so frustrating. Thanks for the video!

    Nice tutorial!! Only thing missing is how to initially set them up to be multicam. Thanks again.

    Great video. Did you check the maximum distance the remote works? Sometime I have several camera at significant distances. So I'm wondering what is the maximum distance I canoperate this remote.

    Can you try to do "Bullet camera effect" to see if all are really sync in photo mode?

    The problem I’ve encountered is that the remote apparently cannot coexist with the Quik app. This means that if one of your cameras is mounted where you cannot see its screen you can’t call it up on Quik to have a look. You have to go fiddle with that camera, disconnect it from the remote and connect it to Quik. Then, when you are done, that camera is no longer paired to the remote and you have to establish a whole new multicam connection. I have not found a way to work around this issue.

    I just got a hero 10 after staying away since the hero 7 which was terrible and this remote is actually legit, works really well 😀

    I have one and it works well.
    Just wish they would have made the lanyard attachment a bit more robust. I like hanging the remote from my neck. Its always in reach when I'm on my bike or ATV.

    nicely done video. I like that you really tried different things, mixed it up just to see what would happen.
    Likely if I get this remote I'll just expect to record all and stop all but good to know the other stuff too.

    Nice video. Does the remote synchronise the time on the three cameras so that the time stamps are in sync? This would be handy for multicam editing especially the scenario you showed when one camera was already recording and the other two started later on.
    Can the cameras have different settings and can they be configured from the remote?

    Once all three cameras are paired, is there any way to create a timecode or make sure they all sync to record ? Trying to record a sporting event and looking for less work I'm post production as possible.

    Hi, thank you very much the video. is there any time delay between the different gopros when launching for recording? the 3 gopros start recording at exactly the same time?
    Thanks

    Nice testing video mate. Very informative. Just a simple question, have you tried losing signal range and then getting connection once again while the camera is still active? Would be really helpful in some scenarios

    • @SilentKit85
      @SilentKit85  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yep, and it works. The camera stays recording and when the remote connects back you can let the camera continue recording or stop it. Then resume control of the camera.

    Hello, do you know if the new GoPro remote is compatible with Hero6 ?

    • @SilentKit85
      @SilentKit85  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The New remote leverages Bluetooth Low Energy (Bluetooth LE) whereas the smart remote communicates via WiFi.
      GoPro lists supported cameras as the Max, Hero 8, and Hero 9.

    You would think all the money we spend on these gopros there would be a app to view and control all at one time

  • @HMexperience
    @HMexperience 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I bought it and I should not have done that. It does not work reliably so a huge waste of time. I use the GoPro app instead to start and stop cameras. That works reliably but take a few seconds because app doesn’t have the option to start all cameras at once.
