    Thank! I just found my old remote and paired it with a hero 8 and a hero max. What I found out though is you have to switch a quick capture mode off on the cameras as far as I experienced

      Excellent! Surprised yet good news the remote (the original first version) works with the Max camera.

      @@North3rdMedia sometimes you first have to turn on manually the cameras then the remote and then it connects again and it works. Otherwise sometimes the remote does not power up the cameras. So not the most stable operation but better than nothing

    Are the video recordings perfectly synchronized? Or does it still require some manual sink in your editing tool?

      50/50, maybe a frame or two out which cannot be be seen and adjusted in the timeline.

    Hi….. good to know about you…… I have some of this cameras and I just get a GoPro Hero9 do you think will work with the 9one?

    • @North3rdMedia
      @North3rdMedia  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The same techniques could apply to GoPro 9 cameras and newer in the future. The remote I used in the video will not work with the 9. I made a follow up video with the issues I had with the remote.

    • @North3rdMedia

      Quik afain does not support more than one camera for viewing at one time

    Also. When I reconnect my hero 7 blacks to an external source. If I turn them on first then turn on the remote both are recognized by remote and work simultaneously. If the gopros, when connected to an external power source are off and I attempt to turn them on with the remote only one is recognized. For both to be recognized I’m having to turn the go pros on first then turn on the remote

    • @North3rdMedia

      Yes just changing the battery(s) I have had the same problem one or more cameras disconnects from the remote and do need to reset. I did make another video related to this to maybe fix

    • @North3rdMedia
      @North3rdMedia  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      My main issue the reliability of controlling all the cameras once setup - found need strong batteries. The next issue is similar to what you are experiencing, any camera that needs a battery replaced (run out or the camera has locked/crashed), then it looses sync with the remote. Sometimes switching off the remote, then switch on the camera, then switch back on the remote works.

  • @frankmoralesiii6908

    Since I use my GoPro’s for motovog I connect both of them to an external anker brick battery. Both GoPro’s are connected to my smart remote and it works pretty good. The problem is when I disconnect them from the power source then reconnect them only one camera will recognize the smart remote. I have to reset both of them and pair again. I have two hero 7 black go pros

    Want to use two camera attached to trees facing overlapping opposite directions for a Rally Race, the race goes in stages and there is considerable time between stages, so I want to record for 45 minutes then be in standby I guess for an hour and then record again, Can I just get close enough to each camera to stop it and then again to start it before the stages start without physically attempting to get to the camera? Is this remote the only way to accomplish this or can I do it with an app on the phone

    • @North3rdMedia
      @North3rdMedia  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes the remote should work up close. The remote if synced to multiple cameras will start stop all that are in range. I would listen for the beeps. Count the cameras out then back in to be sure no camera has gone rogue.

  • @coyotewacker

    I noticed that the second camera was switched to off .Does that matter ? Or does it automatically turn on wen paring ?

    • @North3rdMedia
      @North3rdMedia  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for watching. Once a camera is synced with a remote it will wake up to be ready or start filming. Which is good unless they are packed away.

  • @OvieHusky
    @OvieHusky ปีที่แล้ว +1

    One additional question. If using a remote to control multiple camers, does the remote give info that ensures the cameras are ‘diing their thing”.

    • @North3rdMedia
      @North3rdMedia  ปีที่แล้ว

      The remote does indeed show the cameras status though as you can see in my follow up video on this that it does not always reflect the status correctly for all cameras if thing go out of sync. Like and subscribe.

  • @OvieHusky
    @OvieHusky ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Do you know of software that allows control of multiple gopros other than using a remote.

    • @North3rdMedia
      @North3rdMedia  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There is an iPhone app called Camera Tools for GoPro Heros. Help this helps. Like and subscribe.

      The WiFi does not have to be on as in connect to another device like a phone. The Bluetooth wakes it and then automatically enables the WiFi too.

    • @North3rdMedia

      I have not tested this range as I said given the poor performance sometimes especially when batteries are weak, I would not think it could get close out in the wild with trees etc.

    I think all GoPro uses tired of remote controls that control three or four cameras at one time we want to program that we can view and control three or four at one time as Contin create it I think you should start asking for the same thing I’ll never buy another GoPro until this happens so for now go pro sucks and you should tell the truth

    • @North3rdMedia
      @North3rdMedia  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The remote does suck sometimes. See my video on workarounds. There is a app called toolsFor GopRos that can control all types of GoPro at once - pretty good.
