I never get tired of watching people who are seeing this for the first time connect with the same things we all experienced
Yes. I always love to see at which point their eyes start watering.
Me neither! EEAAO and RRR are my all time favourite reactions!
We can never experience it again for the first time. But we can share in theirs.
Agreed. Can't count how many reactions to this I've watched and hadn't watched any reactions before this. This was definitely towards the bottom of what I'll call 'flat' reactions through most of it but were fully on board by at the end which makes me happy.
@@koryeasterday5164Exactly!
The ultimate positive thing to say about this movie, is that it somehow manages to be absolutely crazy, yet at the same time make SO much sense that it makes you feel ALL the emotions. I am so extremely positively surprised about a movie that really makes NO sense.... yet manages to make the most sense.
Like life when we open ourselves to it
The genius of this movie is that it takes the biggest idea conceivable -- an infinite metaverse of unlimited possibilities -- but grounds it by exploring the much smaller story of what it means to one family.
The first time I watched EEAAO I knew it was a perfect movie. Half a dozen rewatches later and I fully stand by that belief
Its still makes my eyes water
It's up there with Fifth Element, A Christmas Story, It's a Wonderful Life, Ben Hur.
Nothing has affected me as viscerally as this film did. I was CHANGED as a person after my first watching.
It's never too late for anyone to reach their full potential in life. That's the lesson I acquired from this film.
The genius of this movie is that it takes the biggest idea conceivable -- an infinite metaverse of unlimited possibilities -- but grounds it by exploring the much smaller story of what it means to one family.
the moment i finished watching this movie i wanted it to win all the awards and boy it was such an experience going through awards season, i got emotional everytime they won, you really had to be there. i have never rooted for a film more than i did for EEAAO
IMPORTANT DETAIL about the silent rock conversation: keeping it silent was Michelle Yeoh's idea she pushed hard for, and the result speaks for it ( though no one spoke HAHAH)
it's the laundry and taxes line. it always gets me. 😭
lmfao came to write that, so simple, it's always that fucking line, so innocent
That one line made this one of my favorite movies
This movie in my opinion is a masterpiece. But I can see how people don’t like this movie. But this movie changed my view in life.
I know people who dislike it but Ill never understand how you can't at least like this film....it is a masterpiece in a way
I suspect it's so different from the usual movie experience that some people give up on it half way through
This was the last movie i was at the end without words, i laughed and cried. No actual negative criticism from me so close to a perfect movie i've watched for a looooong time.
I loved this movie! It was crazy and intense and I love the fact that it encourages kindness instead of fighting.
“Always try to be nice, but never fail to be kind.” Doctor Who
Yeah by the end, the messages it tried to impart made it LEGENDARY as a film.
Every time I think I've cried all the tears I have for this film, i surprise myself LOL
20:45 Go back and re-watch the beginning of the movie. Right before the "EVERYTHING" pops up on the screen at the end of the opening sequence, pay attention to Gong Gong sitting at the side of the table rather than Evelyn in the center of the shot. You'll see him blow his nose into his napkin, then wipe down his chopsticks and the rim of his noodle bowl with the same napkin. 🤢 So it's not a new taste to him. 😂
EDIT: Oh, and at 21:17 the guy humping the lamp as his "jumping point" is doubtless a tribute to one of The Daniels' earliest projects as directors, the music video for "Turn Down For What".
This is one of the few Oscar winning movies that I actually enjoyed watching.. Most of them are so artsy fartsy that you really need to have a "mood" to appreciate them. They might be masterful but they seldom are entertaining. Ke Huy Quan is my favourite amongst the cast here. He was simply stellar and stole the show for me. Absolute mind trip of a movie!
Good point.
I am glad to see both of you crying. I cried every time when I watched this movie and reactions of it. A masterpiece. Thank you
The last line really puts into us the message. The message of love. That it's ok to ask for help.
Nothing matters but we still love each other. That's why we're here.
(Together)
The principal cast the mom, Waymond, and the daughter all turned in excellent performances!
I'm still mad Stephanie didn't get nominated for an Oscar
I noticed so many reactors mistakent the divorce paper was from Evenly and that the characters travel through time. The opposite is true about the dissolution of marriage document, and the only timeline jumping is the different universes.
BTW, the editing team is about a group of five to seven people (dependent on source [universe???] of report, lol) and yes they won the Oscar.
42:20 as an editor, i would say editors of this movies would have still been excited for all this work. because as an editor myself i love facing challenges. taking feedback, gather ideas how the client (for this movie, the director) wants. each work helps understand and learn new things.
every single time there was something that gave me a hint, like ohh they must have done this, this way. ohh i know what he did here after gather all footages. it's fun tbh
I haven’t laughed this hard outside of a comedy film outside of a Jackass movie and I haven’t had my heartstrings pulled this much outside of a Pixar movie. Seriously, how is it possible that in the same movie where we see Michelle Yeoh fighting 2 guys with BUTTPLUGS up there asses with fighting and stunt choreography that rivals the John Wick movies also makes me weep at the sight of her and her daughter hugging and crying together in the end of the movie?!?! I mean the line of “In another life I would’ve loved doing laundry and taxes with you” breaks my heart every time I hear it!
This film won 7 Oscars and became the first science fiction film to ever win Best Picture.
Watched this movie for the first time today!!!
It was really everything all at once, each feeling, emotions, conflicts so many things 😢😢😢 it was amazing!!
Fun Facts about Everything Everywhere All At Once:
1. This is Academy Award winning editor Paul Roger's 2nd film.
2. The special effects were worked on by 5 people.
3. This is Ke Huy Quan's first film since retiring from acting 20 years ago. (I encourage you to look up his story if you hadn't heard of it)
4. The Russo Brother's produced this film. Yes those Russo Bros, but they didn't win an Academy Award because the Academy has a rule that only 3 producers on a film can win the award for Best Picture.
He must be on drugs and or nuts.
And didn't they say the ones who did the special effects learned it all from watching TH-cam videos?
Such a trippy movie but a beautiful message. I have googlie eyes on my ID badge at the hospital and find them everywhere. The impact of this movie and message is profound. I even saw two huge googlie eyes on a portable X-ray machine. ❤it
Waymond didn’t want to divorce Evelyn. He had the papers drawn up as a means to get her to stop / focus and talk about their marriage.
I don't think people realise the courage and compassion it takes to "let someone go."
To force someone to "stay" when they are that much pain and sadness is cruel and selfish.
And I know ultimately Joy changed her mind. And that's the point. It was Joy's choice.
The scene before the rock scene was so chaotic that when the rock scene happened I literally sighed out loud in the cinema because I felt so at peace after all the chaos
The movie won 7 Oscars including Best Picture and Best Editing.
The entire main cast: Michelle Yeoh, Ke Huy Quan, Stephanie Hsu and Jamie Lee Curtis were all nominated and three of them won Oscars.
What the Daniels do so brilliantly is to grab our attention from the start with a fascinating story that moves quickly, while making us think about our own life paths and choices. Then they shock and surprise us in clever ways that tie the story together brilliantlý. Then, while we are laughing, and horrified at some of the vulgarity, and our emotions are wide open, they hold a big ole' mirror up to us, the audience, and say: "Look at the story again". And we have an epiphany with Evelyn that her Waymond isn't weak, he's the hero who was always rescuing HER. Fighting for HER. Cleaning up after HER. And they show us a way to live where the big gun battle is about turning bullets into googly eyes, and fighting with kindness, finding out what is hurting our enemies and giving them their heart's desire. It is so opposite to every movie we have ever watched, and makes us feel connected to each other and people we care about. It's truly beautiful. I will say that I didn't FULLY experience the film until the 2nd watch, now I am obsessed! Thanks for your reaction..Another awesome movie that happens to be a favorite of the Daniels is 'Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind' with Jim Carrey 👀🪨
This is the movie you watch with people to test if they have a soul... people who don't are unmoved but everyone else it hits in the feels.. HARD
I suspect it's so different from the usual movie experience that some people give up on it half way through
Haha yes, I once recommended this to a collegue and later he told me that it was a waste of 3 hrs. I was flabbergasted by his response.
@@SuperVij007 Mainly because you had to figure out what movie he watched that was 3 hours long.. ;-)
I didn't need this movie to remind me I got no Soul 😂Spec Ops: the Line was enough to make it obvious for me. I thought this was a fun movie, but it didn't do much beyond that for me. I did like the crazy town drug addled experience though XD
I didn't cry until my 3rd viewing of it.
You guys aren't late at all! 🙄
Glad to have you on board though! 😛
I watched this for the first time on a flight when everyone else was sleeping. Thank God no one see me ugly cry in my seat in the dark.
One of my favorite movies of all time.
Repeated viewings make the sci-fi stuff (which I absolutely love) more understandable and less distracting--which makes the human stories stand out even more.
I initially felt like it was a great sci-fi movie that was also emotionally satisfying, but now it's an emotionally satisfying movie that just happens to be sci-fi.
"I know where my headaches come from. Damn you multiverse Andrew."
They want to Home Run their enemies.
This is amazing, I JUST watched this episode yesterday so seeing another reaction from people I watch regularly is fantastic.
This is my favorite movie of all time
I totally agree that this film was an extraordinary outlier when it cam to film editing. I've been an aficionado of movies for decades. And I was just blown away by how well this film was edited. It would never had won the Academy Award for Best Picture without it.
Don't forget "Jobu Topaki", Stepahenie Hsu is gonna be super big soon. Overall I loved tiyre reaction though it took a long time to see Andrew wipe his eyes ! 🙂
Greatest movie experience of my life
One of the greatest movies ive ever seen
Please watch Miracle in Cell No.7. It’s such a great movie and definitely one of my FAVS when it comes to korean cinema
The New Rockstars breakdown and Voss's Deep Dive video of this movie are both something else entirely. Great work by him and his team on this movie.
The most iconic people together?!!!!!!!! Immediate watch
Yea the editing in this movie is really good despite it's a low budget film, which is why the editor won an OSCAR over this :)
ya if u vibe with the movie the first time watching it will usually make you feel like you've gone through an EXPERIENCE unlike any before and since.
Positive Nihilism Versus its Negative version and in the end ..love won.. beautiful...its was an outside representation of many of our internal wars) conflicts but unfortunately not enough people choose love...for everyone who's able to rise above the pain...and chose ro face the world with an embrace...I salute you
No it is Nihilism vs. Existentialism. With the everything bagel representing the former and the inverse googly eyes representing the latter.
Movie is brilliantly bonkers! ♥
This movie is a mix of American and Chinese filmmaking. I feel.
It’s nice to see an Andrew-Kristen Collab. Also, how have you not seen the movie yet, Andrew?
This movie was everything!!!
17:40 Blender Guru Donut Tutorial came in handy!
This is what Multiverse of Madness wanted to be.
You guys seriously haven't watched this masterpiece till now?
Welp, I can tell how much you guys liked the hot dog universe by how much of it you included in your reaction. 😂
Ke Huy Quan’s best performance!
Never clicked so fast
u Never clicked faster than me I'm the first
I wish you guys were gamers. When Evelyn pinky-uppercut that one guy, that was the Smash Bros bat noise.
Wow. That was life changing information.........
It deserved all the Oscars it got. A much better take on the multiverse than MCU.
Love this movie so much
Hadnt seen this in a while. It smacks like its the first time every time.
Sweet! The most brilliantly bananas movie of 2022 absolutely lives up to its title. Michelle Yeoh kicks all types of butt as a time-travelling laundromat manager in a multiverse of madness.
kristen holy cleveage
Wait, you guys are BFFs?😃 Great!
Best movie
One of my favourite movies of recent times!! everything (haha) seemed to just fall perfectly in place for this one. The filmmaking, the acting, the direction, sound design, the VFX- everything was beautiful
Whats crazy is how fastbthey kade it with a modest budget
35:29
And stage interactions fir injustice
Hey Kristen XOXO ❤
17:25 That sure is a trippy visual, cuz that hand gesture is a school joke, it makes your friends' hand crevice look like a vagina
Kristen would kill at doing play by play for Takeshi's Castle or WipeOut. Lol
Great Movie choice. One of my favorite
Your reaction: 😶😶😮😶🙂😶😶😮😶😶😢😶😶😶😶😶😶😶
Better then doctor stanger
first one I like the move
this mann
Jaby I am such a big fan of u but I gotta say the editing here was not very good. Some very good scene reactions were cut.
Agreed. They unnecessarily cut some of the best parts from other universes. It felt incomplete without the raccoon and hotdog scenes.
I highly recommend the 1991 rock Biopic THE DOORS, directed by Oliver Stone, starring Val Kilmer as Jim Morrison where it tells his story from UCLA film student turned tragic 1970's rock star.
Also starring Meg Ryan, Kyle Maclachlan, Frank Whaley, Kevin Dillon, Michael Madsen, Kathleen Quinlan, Michael Wincott, Crispin Glover, and Billy Idol.
😂
I know this is what so many of us have said, but one of the amazing things about this movie is that it's bat-sh*t crazy, incredibly deep, often hilarious, and makes you bawl with emotion. Sometimes all at once. ❤
While all the big studios are trying to whip up the big comic book multiverse movie, this rather small movie actually managed to be the best multiverse movie ever. I was more disappointed with Dr Strange Multiverse of Madness, because it was nowhere close to the miraculous EEAAO. I regret not watching this in a theater. Of course, not a fan of the dildos scene. And my favourite is the 2 stones scene.
I hate to say this, but this small movie has put the entire MCU multiverse saga at risk. Kevin Feige will have to rework the entire Phase-5 and 6 slate to be a better experience than EEAAO.
Re. divorce - it seems like every reactor thinks she served him the papers, yet it clearly says Waymond is seeking a divorce.
I think it's because Evelyn is obviously more unhappy in her life, whereas Waymond's outwardly more happy (the line about it not mattering what her father sees so long as they see a worthwhile life they've built) & talking about future events with them together (like taking a trip together after the tax situation is sorted out) Which makes sense only later when we find out he didn't file a divorce because he actually wants to get divorced, just the opposite really. And granted, yeah, you can just look at the names on the paperwork but that early in the movie a lot of people don't know Waymond's name, plus they're already being hit with a LOT of info all at once to absorb so it's easy to overlook.
The confusions happens with the typed page. If you read it a second late you miss 'Waymond Wang seeks to divorce..." and see Evelyn's name above it..
the duo didn't enjoy or truly understand the film... surely they would have stopped watching it if they weren't paid...
A baaagel
I had trouble watching the reaction. My eyes are stuck on the bottom right of the screen
My eyes were stuck on the top left part of the screen. 🤩
A new trailer had just came out; #DumbMoney
Comment
Andrew is a traitor
nice, the two most unlikable people on this channel
darn. Always disappointing to see reactors who've either already seen the movie and already made up their minds OR just don't have the emotional space to actually absorb it.
You 2 clearly have some weird sexual tension going on preventing you from being open emotionally with each other. Good luck with all of that!
Watching, uh, one of these reactors reminded me how you can just tell how low someone's IQ is just by seeing them sit and watch something.
is this a joke?
?
@@Hawk-s3c ?
Hate the movie, hate the acting, hate the low lighting, nauseating…skip it.
You must be jobutabaki 😂
