Im looking for some fanatec gear to start with! Would this be do-able on a floor? Or with some help of some sorts? Looking to buy a CSL DD + CSL Pedals with LC for the streaming simracing content.
@@Spooky1611 you'd need to lock the pedals in place relative to the seat to get the benefit of a load cell. Simple solution is mount them on one end of a plank and mount the seat to the other end and then you can use a wheelstand for the wheel only. Something like an Omega GT ART cockpit (or the slightly cheaper X-Rocker XR clone) would be a more elegant solution, but depends what your budget is.
Set I have. Still a g29 whee however but the brake pedal is easily the best investment if you want to be more consistent and immersive. These pedals have been awesome
brakes and ffb the fanatec dd pro has 4x the torque of the g29 at 8nm so what ever you feel from the g29 magnify it by 8 times and its direct drive so that means it super precise and responsive and the brakes are load cell with far stiffer setup you cant compare the 2 the g29 is a toy the fanatec is proper serious hardware you train on.
@@racerguy6979 i mean g29 use to make alot of sense they were the best bang for buck wheels but now with the price of fanatec dd pro and thrust master t300 and tgt 2 the g29 doesent loos so good in terms of value but there still a pro sided to them tgt 2 and dd pro is purely a righ base gear it wont work on a desk setup to much torque.
Nice short video giving the necessary info on these pedals. As you know Dave I have the CSL load cell pedals which I find very good. They actually look a little better than I originally thought, but I would think they are much lighter because of the pressed steel construction. I've spent enough this year already, so no more new toys for me (for a while anyway).
The first version of the CSL pedals were plug and play. I was using them with my G27 without any conversion kit, and you get higher resolution plugging them straight into the PC. So they're still plugged into the PC even though I now have a Fanatec wheel base.
The coil spring on the accelerator looks nice and thick, should last awhile. I had that part go on my original thrustmaster pedals in less than a year. They sent me new springs for free and it was easy to fix. But by then i knew i was hooked on sim racing and purchased the v3 pedals. These pedals looks really great and would be a great set for people looking to level up their experience on a budget.
I think I need this pedal set. I also think I need a solid rig to strap it onto, because a I feel the Playseat Challenge just won't do. Thanks for the review, Dave.
My thrustmaster load cell pedals have been great for over a year now, cant justify the money for Fanatec yet. I like the club sport wheel base, but out of my price range.
Thrustmaster T-LCM pedals for £190 are also fantastic value; had mine a year now and they're brilliant for my level. Would be interesting to see a direct comparison.
I got the tlcm for £110 (eBay) which will have to do for now. Just ordered the csl dd a few days ago, so will slowly upgrade everything. I wonder though how these compare to a second hand v3
Dave, Since you have tested so many pedal configurations, Would it be worth upgrading from the CSL loadcell brake setup to something like Asetek Invictas or VRS pedals? Would I gain much by switching?
If you don't buy the load cell kit, is the break pedal just like the clutch and/or acceleration pedal? or does it need more pressure. And I'm seeing everywhere else you need the usb adapter, but do you not need one if you don't get the load cell kit? Sorry if these questions have already been answered. EDIT: Nevermind, I see that you need the adapter on the fanatec website. I also found that the brake pedal does have a stiffer spring and foam to make it harder to press, I am pretty excited for my pedals to come in around a month (usb adapter wont ship until the 27th or so, and everything wont ship from the 18th to the 30th, because of something to do with the warehouses)
hi dave martin from south shields here just down road from you, what a wanted to ask is can i use my thrustmarster pedles with fanatec csl dd wheel, many thanks martin
@@davecamyt well i just bought the csl elite v2, i hope its still a good purchase. Cant wait for the whole setup to arrive so i can switch out the old g29
Widely considered the first and best upgrade step to actually improve times as long as you have a way to mount them in a solid fashion. I built a wood pedal box to put under my desk until I get a rig. Cost me 10 bucks and an hour of my time.
I’ve been a loyal subscriber love the content I use the old csl pedals no load cell 😔 could help a fellow sim racer out on a budget and sell them to me. Keeep racing love it 👍
I'm sorry Dave, these look like updated Logitech G25 pedals. Had a look to see what the cost for the loadcell brake was and it's not available. I've hit the like button because I do like your vids normally
+ shipping + import fee its not really a bargain from where i live. Bought a cls dd and mclaren wheel 1 month ago thinking it was a fair price until they request me to pay the price of another mclaren wheel as import fee lol
Don’t buy using Dave affiliate link!! Find your favorite youtuber that does the same kind of videos like Dave does and buy using their affiliate links. Oh man, being honest does this to you. I mean it in a very positive way. Anyhow, do i see some guilt in your eyes? Com on copper spell the beens out. They don’t look that appealing, the old Elite had more jizz with all black and cast. They were bulky and “slow”, but you could use them directly with PC
The 200 Euro price for CSL Pedals + CSL Pedals Load Cell Kit will be permanent, not just for Black Friday.
Thank you. Pinned 👍
Trying to buy these pedals but no where on the website. Do I have to wait until the 26th for them to show up on the website.

I really hope one day I meet Dave. He seems so chill and nice. Thanks for the video
Thanks buddy, appreciate that. 😁
I was waiting for another 100 on that total price to be fair! Nice to see companies like fanatec making the next step in gear affordable!

Just putting my set together now (bought with the Fanatec DD Pro). Very impressed with how solid they are.

I've yet to try the TM LC pedals. Not really many options at this price point unfortunately ☹️

would you recommend these or the csl elite pedals v2? is the 100 euro difference worth it?
I'd rather have the old ones tbh 👍

I do not understand why they don’t simply make 2 pedals set with load cell brake, since I’m not interested to the clutch pedal. BTW … nice kitchen 👍🙂
Can you do a product review of your espresso machine? Looks nice :)
Sage Barista Pro if you were wondering. Sage are running a discount atm too :)

But is the loadcell worth it, especially if one mostly drives GT3 with ABS vs. base 2 pedal setup?
Absolutely. The load cell should be the first thing you upgrade as soon as you can. Makes a huge difference 👍
