Given that Levi has always lost anyone who he cared for, his mom, Kenny, his friends from OVA, his squad multiple times, maybe the author is trying to set a theme where he just doesn't have one OR maybe his only goal is to protect himself in the end, kinda making his character tragic. An Akerman, designed to protect their host, failing to protect anyone he ever cared for or might've been a potential "host". Just a guess.

The information that Eren got from Zeke about the Ackermans could have a sprinkle of truth and a bit of a lie in it just like he did with the info about the wine. But, if we assume it's true, that Ackermans have this unyielding loyalty and dedication to their "host" then it's safe to assume that Levi's host is Erwin.
That can't be. An Ackerman is programmed to always protect their host, no matter what. Levi approved Erwin's suicidal charge. If he was indeed Levi's host, Levi would have done anything - including going 1vsAll against Zeke's titans- to save Erwin.
Levi's host was not Erwin he just respected Erwin more then anyone else. If you recall in the OVA they could have easily taken care of the scouts that were chasing them but that was not the mission. I believe Levi's Ackerman powers awoke when he was being trained by Kenny and he never truly had a host.

This episode does a really good job of making you feel like the situation is helpless. It shows how far the story has come since season 1.
I love how the mystery for S1-3 was about the world. But now the mystery has instead shifted to Eren and Zeke's intentions and mindsets. Back then, we heard all of Eren's thoughts. But for this season, we've been in his head maybe twice at best. Really interesting take. And an amazing episode full of heartbreak, hype and more questions.

I just wanted to add to the part with armin and bertholt, its interesting how eren is claiming that armin is being manipulated by bertholdt's memories when eren himself has THREE titans in him (the founding, the attack, and the warhammer). So that was kind of the first red flag I noticed that made me feel like eren wasn't being entirely truthful in his conversation with armin and mikasa. Otherwise he would've just been a huge hypocrite accusing armin and mikasa of not being "free" when what he's saying (if it's true) should apply to him as well.
Eren also breaks his facade slightly when Armin calls him a slave. As much as he doesn't want to admit it he's a slave to the Attack Titans power and he hates it.

Eren's "talk" with Armin and Mikasa is heartbraking. He broke Mikasa down using words, and physically beat Armin - the opposite of their strengths.
Confirmed: Levi is a tea connoisseur. Poor guy can't get a break with the deaths of his comrades. It's S1 Levi Squad all over again.
I think Commandant Keith agreed to fight the recruits as he knew there was no way out of this farce. It was straight up like a gang initiation ritual, and by agreeing he could help the naive recruits save face and not be killed/punished by Floch, who's clearly on a power trip. The cut from the recruits fists pre- and post-fight is really well done. Poor Hange looking on. 😞

One thing a lot of people miss is Commadant Shadis most likely did that whole "come at me" esque speech because he didn't want the recruits to get in trouble so he was basically doing that to make them beat him up.
Zeke was being held captive, therefore, being prevented to going to the arranged location: Shiganshina. That's why Eren was asking where Zeke was.
BTW Eren doesn’t know the location of Zeke and where Zeke is held because the people that know his location were Levi and his 30 men surrounding Zeke in the forest. That’s why in the previous episode I think episode 12 even Pixis didn’t know the location.
just remember that in mikasa's ova, even without awakening her ackerman power, she still has the same attitude towards eren ( in love ) as she does now, therefore being an ackerman has almost no influence on her protection towards him... also kenny said that they were afraid of them, since not even the king could control them...in fact, mikasa could be the freest person, she never listened to eren in the first seasons, she always went against him.
Nah Mikasa Awakened because of Eren and Eren knows why Mikasa tries to protect him......Also Eren said truth about The Ackerman blood headache is the proof of it ..... ( basically he tries to question her is your attachment real or it's your blood line that's protected me because of my Orders) he knows that she is the only one who still thinks good of him but he don't want that and want to push them apart from himself

@@angelinasophiakamaratou1205 yep , the ova takes place just before the kidnapping, only that the kidnappers do not arrive at mikasa's house because wolves or wild dogs attacked them in the forest so that prevents mikasa from being kidnapped.
that action changes the whole future, therefore she does not activate her ackerman power, which shows that even without it her attitude of protection and love towards eren would be the same.

When eren and zeke were in liberio, eren asked him about mikasa's attitude towards him and if it was because she was an ackerman or for another reason, zeke told him that being an ackerman has nothing to do with her attitude but that she is simply in love with him.

I think Erwin was the one Levi is protecting because remember in S3 when they are talking about who should be the one holding the syringe of titan serum. Erwin asked Levi if he could do it and Levi asked why don't make it an order if I remember it right and also in the last scene on OVA's of Levi, He said that he would follow Erwin right at that moment when they are ready to go out the walls and I think that's where it started.
Eren’s argument about Armin being controlled would have to aply to him as well, it always felt like a way to just scare Armin for me
EXACTLY. I don’t get why people don’t understand how weird this logic is. If this is allegedly happening to Armin, then this should be happening to Eren, Reiner, Annie, etc., but we’ve had no instances where this is shown.

Just to clear up the confusion, eren’s slit hand is a sign of warning. Though in the past 3 seasons, eren learned self infliction is a way to trigger titan transformation but after his realisation of his father’s memories, he is able to control the transformation after getting injured. The slit thats evident on his right hand shows that if armin, mikasa and gabi refuse to comply against his wishes, eren won’t hesitate to transform.
Just to clear somethings, Eren is confidently saying things but are you sure they are fully true? He is saying theories to break their hearts so they hate him. Won't say anything more as spoilers are a no no lol. But yeah, you can believe what he said it does make sense hehe

That being said, I really do hope you guys react to Attack on Titan: Junior High. It's a parody of the show, but has the same creators, even same voices...all with the purpose of giving fans something light to watch that's AoT related.
So the Ackermanns have loyalty with someone almost their whole lives. They are linked to that person in a way to protect them. Like Eren said in a not-so-nice way: they're a slave to something or someone. Of course, i wouldn't put it that way. Like how Levi is to Erwin, Kenny to Uri, and Mikasa to Eren. Correct me if I'm wrong, guys.
The Ackermans awaken their powers to deal with an extreme situation and it basically effects the rest of their lives. Uri saved Kenny by not killing him hence him thinking he owed Uri so he started working for him. Levi's powers awoke when he saw Isabel and Farlins dead bodies. He continued to follow Erwin because he respected him more then anyone else if Erwin truly was the host he would have snapped and not let Erwin die. Mikasa is the only clear example of having to protect someone as her powers awoke in order to save Eren when she was a kid hence that being her goal for the rest of her life was to keep Eren safe.
levi awakened his powers before he got close to anyone, same with kenny. his powers awoke randomly so he went on a killing spree. mikasa simply protects eren bc she loves him it rlly is that simple lol

Eren and Zeke agree to meet in Shiganshina District probably where they had their first interaction in season 3, assuming Zeke wasn't imprisoned. Eren would assume Zeke can't meet there and would require the scouts to show him where they're holding Zeke.

Levi obeys Erwin.

I never understood why they didnt just cut off an arm or leg from zeke so that him transforming wouldnt be an issue... Though his yell works in human form too, they didnt know that was his plan. But with what they DID know, keeping zeke from transforming should have been a top priority.

Agreed. Their relationship always felt very shallow, unlike his with armim. Still, I was very shocked when I first watched this scene. I honestly don't think eren hates mikasa, i think he dislikes her worldviews - the fact she'd rather run away than fight for her freedom like him, say. They overall just lack in compatibility.

i love what dani says about eren.. i feel the same.. in my opinion eren is the only one who didn't change.. from the beginning he always going forward.. remember in the end of season 3 end, eren said he always believe that on the other side of the sea is freedom.. but he is wrong because he find out that on the other side of the sea is their enemy.. enemy who want to kill eldian.. especially in the paradise island.. and in order to find their freedom, he must eliminate all the enemy..

Ackerman s are not subject of ymir, so they can't be affected with founding titans memory alterations and can't turn into Titans too, same as any other tribes in the remaining world
They are subjects of Ymir but are just genetically altered so that they're already part titan and therefore can't turn into titans but the founding titan can still communicate with Ackermans which it can't do with regular humans like onyankapon.
Ngl I'd be so suspicious of a wine that originates from a foreign enemy country that is specified to be only served to soldiers in command. How wouldn't you be at least cautious of that lol.
