Somehow Zeke is like one of the funniest characters in the show. He does such horrid things and has such multilayered thinking, but is also casual enough to just go: "FUCKING COME ON MAN, GIMME A BREAK!"

Eren knew he couldn’t beat mikasa physically, or armin with logic. So he emotionally crippled mikasa, and beat up armin.

@@demonic_myst4503 nah there is basically no truth to what he said to her about how being an Ackermann works. He was just using things he knows about her to gaslight her so that she wouldnt follow him into what he knows he will end up doing later on.
We learn in season 3 from Kenny's grandfather that the Ackermann family were the king's protectors but they disagreed with the king abandoning the war, so he had them hunted down since he could not force them to submit to his rule. If the Ackermann's were slaves to the king then none of what we do know about them would make sense. Also Eren doesnt possess either the Founding or Attack titans when they killed the 3 human traffickers as kids.
In reality the Ackermann blood makes her one of the two remaining Eldians who are NOT able to be enslaved to the Founding Titan.

Feel like he runs more similar to real life people than most anime characters do.
Now the running that I thought looked weird, was back in season 1 when Eren needed to seal Trost gate and he, Mikasa and the Garrison woman with glasses were running on wall, just looked weird.
I totally get what you mean about Floch. There are villains that you love to hate, but Floch isn't quite that. You just hate Floch. He's so manipulative and cheeky and... real. He is a representation of the exceedingly ugly, radical side to war. And that makes him undoubtably important to what Attack on Titan's story has become, even if it is unpleasant to look at.
I don't think Floch was suppose to be made to be unsympathetic, I hate Zeke much more. He was one of the only surviving cannon fodder from the scouts who was angry that his sacrifice was wasted on Armin. He wanted to fight back because he knew as well as Eren the threat of Marley and will give his life to that free his people. Your 100% right he's a radical who follows his righteous cause and lets power go to his head but I don't think that's exceedingly ugly compared to the masterminds who orchestrate war.
@@byrondejong9872 I suppose that's a fair argument. Something about Floch goes the extra mile for me, though. Consider the way he smiled when Hange realized how the Yeagerists had stayed silent about the wine. Floch isn't just twisted; he's boldly twisted. He knows what he's doing and he enjoys it.
@@doswallo Yeah I think he is just on a power trip since he was once cannon fodder and now gets to boss around his commanding officers. He doesn't seem to be a psychopath to me since he is a radical who will die for his cause but enjoying the suffering of countrymen you fought with is pretty fucking twisted.
The thing about Floch is that he believes they need a "Devil" to win. That Devil was Erwin. He realized that Erwin had the intellect and disposition to win. Erwin would make needed sacrifices to win. Now, he sees Eren as that Devil. And Floch is also a Devil. He's giving total loyalty to Eren and committing to what he thinks needs to be done. In his mind, to defeat Marley, they need to be able to become monsters to defeat monsters (a theme of AoT).
@@saltyk9869 I think the question is did Floch become a monster for Eren's cause or was he always a monster without agency to be one. You could even question if he is a product of the traumatic events he went through at Shiganshina though there isn't really any of that being the case.
It's crazy to see Armin throw a punch, let alone the first punch.
An observation i made between now and when Hange visited him in jail. Erin nearly transformed when he yelled at Hange. Yet here, no lightning at all, just the threat. I believe its pain that is the trigger that can aid the transformations, and physical pain is just the quickest to access in that moment. I think he was genuine with Hange when he screamed "do you have a better plan?" It was genuine. Erin isnt free at all
Yeah when you rewatch the series after seeing where the story goes; Eren in the prison cell is gassing himself up to keep pushing on, and when Hange comes in he is essentially begging her to have a better idea than what he has resigned himself to believing is the only option.
He wants a better way but knows there isn't one.
His statement about the WarHammer TItan power is very much the same as what you say. He has the power to leave but doesnt, because he isn't actually free. He is essentially the only person with free will, but is also the only person who realistically can see that he doesn't really have it at all.

The theory goes that he is using the power of the Attack Titan in that scene. That he's not hyping himself up so much as the "Attack Titan". It may go a long way to explain what is explained about the Attack Titan in the series. Specifically, how the Attack Titan has always been independent.

Although the first time I read what you wrote I thought you had meant that this was one of the times he was using the Attack TItan to send those messages back to Grisha or Kruger. It just so happened to be one of the times he was telling them to fight, in which case he isnt telling himself to do it but also sort of is? Plot armor
She might insult herself from time to time for having low IQ, but her EQ seems to be very high. She can very deeply connect and understand the emotions and thoughs of the characters. Pinpointing behaviour from previous seasons that explains the characters emotional state. Very perceptive and smart reactionner if you ask me.
She ain’t stupid too she figured out a lot of stuff and connected a lot of points, she just overwhelms herself with information sometimes and misses info

great you brought up the "nice pitch" scene from season 3. actually, a lot of small hints were left about the outside world that no one ever questioned. my two favorite from season 3 were Reiner, Bert and Zeke drinking Coffee (but the scouts called it a mysterious black liquid since they didn't know what coffee was), and that Zeke did say he threw homeruns and made baseball references and no one ever knew baseball on paradis
I believe there is also shots of a coffee grinder during the flashbacks to Marcel getting eaten which means the warriors brought it with them, and also in the abandoned junk left before in the Utgard Tower. Zeke's crew in S2 are implied to have camped at Utgard before they turned Ragako Village and left behind their excess supplies like the alcohol in another language, and the box with the can of herring in it.
Most reactors recognize that their clothes are a bit different from what they've come to expect by that point in the series, and have the same reaction to the police in the Ymir flashback in S2E10.
Between the herring being a salt water ocean fish, canned food being questionable technology-wise, the language being foreign, coffee grinders when they dont know what coffee is, coffee beans not growing in the climate of the walls, and other things like the clothes and even Ymir calling the beast titan a monkey which Eren doesn't recognize as an animal he has ever heard of.
I love how many hints of things get dropped in every episode.
Like the titan's tongue twitching as Levi is dragging Zeke's body away after their fight in this episode foreshadowing the return of the titan in 2 episodes time.
And if you think about the way Zeke pulled that titan apart during the fight in this episode, he rips it apart in such a way that leaves the nape intact while removing everything above it and everything below it. The subtle points are so great in AoT.
There's also Ymir knowing how to read cans in the first instance we've seen them in the show, and that she doesn't like herring, a salt-water fish the islanders don't know about.
Lmao the perfect pause at Zeke running away
When talking to mikasa eren just straight up graduated from casual to competetive gaslighting, jesus.
When you know you can't argue with Armin or fight Mikasa, choose instead to argue with Mikasa and fight Armin.
I think it is worth appreciating who Floch has become. The man was some optimistic greenhorn when we first met him. Got scared to death of dying and pointed out the meaninglessness of their deaths. Only to somehow survive a suicide charge and fully embrace that they needed a Devil. First, he wanted Erwin to be that Devil. Now, he follows Eren as he has become that Devil. A major theme of AoT is that you need to become a monster to beat monsters, and Floch is fully onboard. He himself is 100% loyal to Eren, and even acts as a bit of a Devil himself. He's an interesting evolution of a character.
The ackermans being slaves to a host doesn't make any sense. The Ackerman's a long time ago BETRAYED the king, causing them to be persecuted, doesn't sound very slave like to me. Also if it was true, I imagine that would make Erwin Levi's host, but he never acted the way Mikasa did towards Eren when Erwin was in danger. Pretty sure Mikasa just loves Eren.

Eren was lying to both of them so that they don't feel bad about having to kill them in the end.
25:24 I was the exact same. He became one of my favourite characters from this point on. Not because of his actions, but his unrelenting drive to see his will be done. His drive to protect his homeland.
The song that played during Zeke and Levi's fight played during Kenny and Levi's fight in the underground chaple. And the comrades Levi was talking about killing before were all the people who were basically sent to their death in the scouts which is really sad.
I love the titles of the episodes for this season. They all have like double or triple meanings. Or most of them do. This episode is titled "Savagery". This could of course pertain to Eren's horrible treatment of Armin and Mikasa, or Zeke turning Levi's friends into Titan along with how ruthlessly Levi strikes back. Also could be referring to the assault om Commondant Shadis by the cadets :(
3:35 Ok, when I first saw this scene, I had two questions:
1. Based on this logic, who is Eren then? His father, Krueger, maybe Frieda?
2. Again, by that logic, is Eren acting like an asshole because he can't bang his hot mom just like his daddy?
Second is joke, but first is literally my thought at that moment. I mean, it's an obvious logic hole. But many people just say - oh, that's why Armin visiting Annie, it makes sense.

My logic at the time was similar, but Eren's predisposition meant that he leaned more into the pro-Eldia bias of Kruger and Grisha vs whoever had the Warhammer previous, and that the Founding Titan can't control non-Royals so that's a non-factor in his actions.
yeah but we find out later in ep 28 that eren made it the f up. its not how that works he just said that stuff to drive them away. armin loves annie because he loved annie even in s1
I’ve always found it completely insane how many people blindly believe everything Eren says in this episode. What bewilders me even more is that even after it’s confirmed that Eren lied, some people continue to believe what he said is true. What he’s saying doesn’t even make sense in the first place. And it can all be easily debunked by rewatching previous seasons.
to answer your question about why Zeke wears glasses as a titan shifter, its quite simple. Bad visions does not equal injury. If it were an injury anyone with bad vision would always be in pain, don't even get me started on blind people or color blind people. Its a genetic trait or at most a degenerative tissue, its not something that the titan healing process repairs. It heals injuries, lacerations, broken bones, it can't just make you perfect.
Armin really just said: "hold this bar, Eren"

A thing long time viewers and those with decent memories have to remember, Armin was the one who lit the fire in Eren to seek freedom and more from Life. So for Eren to just beat him like that, you have to know something may be going on. :(

So, in regards to healing ones eyes to fix bad eyesight, that would not really work in regards to the two common ones we usually require glasses for.
Neither near or long sightedness are really defects or injuries, now if you had laser surgery to correct it (( aka, damage your eyes )), then it would just heal back so you would be requiring glasses to correct your vision again afterwards, sadly.
Now needless to say, it is a bit more complicated, sight is not determined by one thing, but a shit ton of things in your genes and life, but from natures side of things, it is not really a defect, being nearsighted means you can technically read things for the rest of your life if you move it close enough as an example, the downside is naturally your long range vision being smacked.
And since it is not really a defect, or injury, it would not really get fixed either.
tbf, manga/anime rules, so, the fact neither are defects or really injuries would not really matter if the author decided it.

It's quite easy to see through Eren's lie here. If what he said was true, Mikasa should get the headaches when doing something Eren told her to do, which her "true self" doesn't want to do, or while she protects him... but when was the only time we saw her have a headache? When Eren was in prison and she was unable to even talk to him.
Why did she not get a headache from restraining Armin right here? Isn't that something that her true self would oppose too?
And his actions through the first three seasons also put the lie to him having hated Mikasa from the very start, as he claims here.
This makes it very clear to me that he's not telling only truth here... but is it all lies, or a mix of lies and truth? And why is he lying?
I think he's trying to distance them. Maybe he intends to pull a Lelouche and thus needs his friends and family to also become his enemies, so he doesn't drag them down with him. Which also makes Floch a really good servant for him, since I doubt he cares partiularly much about a person with such a winning personality, who went into a god complex over being "the leader of Eren's disciples" or whatever he thinks of himself as...
Can titans heal anything? We only know for sure they can heal wounds, but bad eye-sight isn't a wound.
The sub title person mess up a bit. The name should really be Xaver, which is a real German first name. Since Japanese has no X, Ksa (or rather Kusa, with a mute u to be precise) is the closest approximation in their language to the Xa.

I can relate to that in the sense of that I'm the oldest kid of an abusive and super homofobic family, I had to decide too not get close and be borderline rude too all of my siblings bcz I where going to cut them of then I got older so they wouldn't get trauma from me leaving them without telling anyone of my siblings, even though it hurt me I knew it was for the best.

@@mranonymous00 I dont think any of the titan shifters are ever shown to have any form of birth defects prior to becoming a titan shifter, but they have all healed back any and all forms of damage every time they've been hurt. Eren gouges out his eye at the start/end of S4 and is fine afterwards.
I guess we can never know since none are shown to have ever needed to have that happen, with either result proving one way or the other.

OK, so the comparison you tried to make about Mikasa being a slave to her blood to Zeke being a slave to his desires is just a "nah". I mean, today you've watched everything and you know Eren is against Zeke and his plans to exterminate all Eldians, but the comparison you made makes no sense. Zeke is doing what he does because it's what HE wants to do, it's still his own choices. What Eren said about Mikasa is that she didn't follow and protect him for loving him or by her own choices, it was because she was forced due to the curse that is in the blood of the Ackermans. These are different things.

Not trying to be disrespectful, but this episode really solidifies how Eren is a pathetic excuse for an anime character. He targets his friends who helped him grow up and deal with his issues. Not only did he do that but he uses his friend's weakest points to basically emotionally torture Mikasa and Armin. Eren's whole character is just such a joke in Final Season.
