I have a 2020 with 17k miles. Car has been tuned since 2000 miles. I currently have a j pipe and intake with an e30 e tune since 15k miles. Everything seems great so far. However I do notice when I do WOT pulls and there is a slight hesitation when I shift and get back on the throttle. I’m sure it’s the intake but I love the noise it produces. They’re great cars, just either leave it stock or find a great tuner while keeping up with maintenance . Thanks for the video.
with my car and my protune whenever i let go of the gas while being in boost slightly it jerks a lot but i also assume its cause i have a burble tune on it
Swapping out the tune would mess with all the mixtures briefly until the engine could adjust to the revised settings. I worked with a shop for some time many years ago and tuning or detuning every car caused what you described for the most part as the fuel injectors adjusted to the new timing. No damage just have to work it out before loading the engine.
I have a 17 WRX and you definitely wont be disappointed. Great car. Treat it nice and it will treat you nice. Don't be like every other hoon and destroy it before you even get to appreciate it!
@@SkiPi_rl I won't make the mistake of heavily modding it and blowing up my engine. I'm gonna stick to cosmetics and things that don't interfere with my warranty.
Hello. I watched this and the 6 years videos. They were really good. It’s funny that you traded in your WRX for a Type R while I’m trading in my Type R for a WRX!
I get O2 KNOCK CENSOR code when I wash my car, after heavy rainy day or snowstorm. It goes away itself after 1-2 days. No issues while driving whatsoever. My car is stock and CVT transmission very reliable so far. Driving since 2016
After all tunes the car will stutter for a second while it figures everything out - you can watch thousands of vids with this happening the FIRST time they start the car after the tune has been uploaded. Just an FYI.
Im selling my 06 sti either getting a 4runner or tundra not new. I'm 68 if younger would get the type r . Plus wnt 4wd where I'm at. On the plus Toyota more reliable
I’d keep your STI. I think it’s badass when older gentlemen own these “young enthusiast” cars. Shows they got spunk and age shouldn’t define what car you drive. Don’t let your age define what car you should drive unless it’s harder to get in and out of it or you have knee problems that make it hard to drive a manual.
Your issue after reverting to stock tune is a normal learning process for the ECU. It would do similar things if you disconnected the battery for long enough. I had trans work done and the dealer had the battery out for 2 weeks. After that my window switches didn't work properly until I retrained them with their up and down limits. And the gas pedal was horribly sluggish for 3 days while it relearned how to car. It seems unprofessional and kind of jarring for the money we give them for these cars but it's how the ECU is programmed to learn.
Should of put the stock air intake on. I believe in ur last video you left the Cobb air intake on, should not run these cars with out a tune and aftermarket intake
@@ReggieSanchez23 love it! Still own it but selling soon as the market is so insane and i paid a crazy good price on it. Only gripe was that the car is mildly slow but if you have good curvy roads near you it is THE daily driver for performance cars imo.

Congrats. I understand you. I owned both the WRX and the Impreza and I prefer the Impreza. It is just fine while the WRX is trying to be something that it is not. Too many things wrong about it. But It was not the case for old WRX, like 2002 models.
$15k on dealer trade with 78,250 miles. Car was $30k on the dot when I bought it new in 2014. 50% value after 6.5 years was definitely very good. I imagine if I wanted to sell private party I could of gotten a good chunk more.
Is it smart decision to buy a 2015 wrx 18,000miles for $17,000 all stock, engine never been touched in 2023? Any answers would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Would love to hear your thoughts on your WRX vs. the Type R so far! Both these are high up on my list, but fk8 prices are a bit ridiculous these days. Thanks!
I want to buy a 2021 WRX but hesitant because I see a lot of people having an issue with head gasket but I want to ask you if I keep everything stock will it do fine?
Thanks for the update. I have my eyes on a new 2020 WRX for awhile but I'm on the fence from the longevity point of view. Will the car make it to 100k and beyond? without tuning or anything else done to the engine???
@@kaysup2350 I bought a brand new wrx in February. Bought new because I don't trust the previous driver when it comes to sport car. It's on a warranty so I won't be modding anytime soon.
congrats on the new car. Can I ask, why did you put the WRX back to stock for the trade in? Was it an option to trade it in the way it was, or do those aftermarket parts and tune not count as "improvements" or "upgrades" for the sake of a trade in?
Never worth more with mods. Maybe with new tires/brakes/filters etc. or OEM upgrades from Subaru or STi. Just depends if you think it's worth the time to remove them and resell em.
I don't think it's a tune on your car I've got a 20/20 and I've been fighting with the dealership over putting an oil air separator and the vacuum system and they're not real responsive to doing any of that even if I buy the part since Subaru doesn't have one. but based on my studies these are the kind of things that trickle in overtime is accumulation of oil which reduces the efficiency of the engine and actually can reduce the octane and the fuel that we run into our vehicles. this is the one thing I'd like to do that I'm still dealing with my dealership about I think would make my car last like the rest of my Subarus forever
So im new to your channel, wanted to know if you ever modified your car I want to buy a Subaru wrx as a daily but I want to know if its reliable. I wouldn't modify the car too much just like a muffler delete.
