I'm no longer keto, but have kept some of my keto habits. A tsp of MCT oil before breakfast (12noon for me) is my secret energy tool for extra energy and a cognitive boost.

@ VH Rocks, I have always addressed a chiropractor as "Dr." out of respect. Not a medical doctor but a doctor of chiropractic which requires a high level of understanding of the human anatomy. Many of them are also much more versed in nutrition than your garden variety medical doctor, so in that respect a DC will view the body as a whole and not just individual body parts.

Philippines is the second largest producer of coconut in the world, I grew up in the Philippines, that`s why I know that coconut growers in our country don`t use chemical fertilizer, pesticides or any form chemical to boost the growth of coconut trees, they easily grow in our country even without taking care of them, maybe because Philipine soil is volcanic which is best for the said trees. If you want to be sure that the product you`re buying is organic, be very sure it`s from the Philippines, even the famous Paris Hilton with big coconut water business uses coconut water only in the Philippines.

Throwing all sugars into one category is as stupid as throwing all fats into one category. People generally do not understand that fruit sugars are vastly different and far superior to the kinds we get from the carbs like we get from rice, wheat and potatoes. Don't know it it matters now, but they don't modify anything. Coconut oil is already 14% ish percent MCT (C6-C8-C10), and they just fraction off the lightest components that are liquid at room temperature. Coconut oil at room temp is a slush of solid and liquid medium and long chain triglycerides

Taking ketones is not a goal. The goal should be to get your own body to make ketones. Yeah you might go into ketosis, but - so what? You are just adding quick calories and supressing your body's own tendacny to burn body fat.

This video explained nothing aside from sharing some scientific names. Jordan discussed a little about gut disruption but not why other than the causation from to MCT acids.
What I gathered was MCTs should be consumed in small teaspoons in coffee, smoothies, or the like. What time of day, before or after exercise, or even beneficial factors at certain doses was not discussed. Can MCTs be found in nature anywhere other than supplements? If so, where? I'm not wanting to lose weight but could use the effects of "brain fuel" from adding MCT to my diet, is that possible?
A little about me. Earlier this year, January of 2020, I was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis UC and have been riddled with inflammation. My doctor suggested I go on corticosteroids, I did. I did salamine treatment which exacerbated the movements. Moved over to a biologic (Remicade) and am now searching for all natural remedies while still doing the biologic prescribed treatment. So far, I've tried the intermittent fasting, the Daniel diet, keto diet, liquid diet, and paleo diet. Nothing seems to ease my UC and am constantly bombarded with bathroom trips during the day making it difficult to function away from home. I would like some type of direction as to how Mr. Rubin has overcome his Crohn's because other than probiotics very little has worked.

MCTs in higher amounts before you're adapted to it tend to cause the intestines to become more 'active' which may cause loose stools or diarrhea. It's just like how magnesium supplementation can cause the same issue if you take too much too fast. It doesn't mean it's harmful, you just need to start any new supplement slowly and gradually build up to your desired dosage.
