I have been in a weight loss stall for the last 3 weeks. Eating the same and my macros are on target. Yesterday and today I put MCT oil in my smoothie and it was enough to get things going again, as I saw a 1 pound loss on the scale today. What is your take on the relationship of regular MCT use and higher bad cholesterol? Started Keto and my cholesterol went up. Doc told me to reduce fat intake, eggs and red meat consumption. MCT is pretty high in saturated fat ... mine is 14 gr/1T or 70%.
Your doctor was likely only looking at general cholesterol and not the more specific types. Look into Advance Testing and the different types of cholesterol. You will learn that carbohydrates make more of the bad type of bullet style proteins that get caught in damaged arteries and Saturated fats tend toward more big fluffy ones that are neutral and not harmful at all.

I gave a container to someone else I knew and it didn't seem to do anything for the person they were feeding it to either. I wish I could do my own study. What do you think about the MCT oil. Was supposed to expect another gastrointestinal surgery after ten years. Surpassed it, but was experiencing some hints of a brewing problem right before keto. Most certain that further words are unnecessary...gut is happier than it's EVER been. Yaaaaaeeee KETO!
I like emulsified but can only take a tsp at this point due to IBS. I can see both metabolic and mental clarity effects. It is amazing how such a small amount has such an effect. But I have to take it earlier in the day or I'm up half the night. Great video.
Thanks for the video. My concern is that the benefits of weight loss could happen at the expense of a heart attack. Hope the consumption of saturated fats in excess have no impact on your cholesterol levels?
You need to go to Low Card Down Under and just search "saturated fat". Dietart fat intake has no effect on blood cholesterol in terms of risk for this. Its always been known. Your body is literally making more fat than you eat when you don't eat it. So that shows heart attacks have nothing to do with intake therelf

If MCT oil does not break a fast, what about other supplements. My wife and I do IMF and take supplements instead of our meals as we usually only eat once a day. If there is a problem with the supplements breaking a fast when should you take them?
There’s no need to using mtc oil at all. People always look for work arounds and shortcuts. I’d recommend actually training your body to get your ketones higher. You might be tempted to use a bit of mtc oil if you’re doing a fast and feeling low in energy, but I don’t think you don’t want to do that of your ketones are very high.
Is MCT Oil to be used only when doing IF? Is there a better time of day to take the MCT oil? Also, if you’re following a low-carb diet vs Keto, is using MCT oil still a good idea or is it only recommended if you’re strictly IF and Keto?

Great new info! I love your channel! Thank you for all you do. 💕
Very good video! Thanks for sharing.
I would love if you could do a try on the carnivore diet.
You want them to be guinea pigs rather than trying it yourself?
I’ve been carnivore for almost a year after doing keto for 6 months and I feel amazing.
Was supposed to expect another gastrointestinal surgery after ten years. Surpassed it, but was experiencing some hints of a brewing problem right before keto. Most certain that further words are unnecessary...gut is happier than it's EVER been. Yaaaaaeeee KETO!
Happy for you.
I started my keto journey in 2017 and never looked back. I lost 70 lbs and also "lost" many illnesses associated with being overweight.
How is it supposed to increase fat loss if its adding even more energy to your diet? You will start burning this instead of fat reserves
I like emulsified but can only take a tsp at this point due to IBS. I can see both metabolic and mental clarity effects. It is amazing how such a small amount has such an effect. But I have to take it earlier in the day or I'm up half the night. Great video.
Coconut oil was beneficial but I am experiencing itching of the skin consuming this oil. Will MCT oil be more beneficial?
Thanks for the video. My concern is that the benefits of weight loss could happen at the expense of a heart attack. Hope the consumption of saturated fats in excess have no impact on your cholesterol levels?
You need to go to Low Card Down Under and just search "saturated fat".
Dietart fat intake has no effect on blood cholesterol in terms of risk for this. Its always been known.
Your body is literally making more fat than you eat when you don't eat it. So that shows heart attacks have nothing to do with intake therelf
When should I take it? With food or drink?
I've begun in my a.m. coffee😊, someone else, salads..not so much cooking....
Could it be used to make salad dressings instead of EVOO?
Mebbe part mct/ part eco. They both are great for your health!!
Effects on RMR is definitely intriguing!
I will keep taking it in my BPC. No adverse reactions yet..
Thanks🤩
I practice 16/8 intermittent fasting. Would some MCT oil in my morning cold brew break that fast? I don’t want to spike blood sugar nor insulin as I finally have my prediabetic condition under control.
The testing we've done shows no glucose reponse to MCT oil in our coffee.
That is great. What about insulin response? I’m trying to keep my poor pancreas from having to work to hard. 😀
I bought some It had lauric in it not a huge problem I guess most stuff in the store has it or doesn't say..The brand you mention looks better and the price is good
What id you are NOT on a keytone diet. My friends mom is losing her memory. I told her to give her coconut oil. Would MCT oil be better? When your husband was on the MCT oil was he doing a Keytone diet? Would MCT be harmful if one was NOT doing a Keytone diet and still took this?
I will never touch this oil again!!! I got nauseated, diarrhea, and passed out! It was organic mct oil and the first time I had taken it!
So what you are saying is I dont need to buy an expensive bottle of MCT Oil to loose weight.
Thank You. Question.....is there a reason why you dont put butter in your coffee with the MCT oil?
It says right on my bottle not to use it for cooking.
Keith - I'm slightly concerned about your mental health. I do IFS (internal family systems) and it's helped me a lot. I wonder if you have a part or parts protecting you against joy.
What??
Can I get mct oil from coconut milk?
Do I have to be on a keto diet to reap the benefits of mct?
I'm well adapted to mct, but in the beginning it was " never trust a fart" just saying 🤔
Thanks Bob the welder and wife.
LOL
Haha same 🙋♀️
Several weeks ago at about 3 am let me just say ... it wasn't pretty.
exactly same thing at first :), now I can take 4 table spoon with no problem.
I had to use MCT powder because of bathroom issues. May try 1/2 tablespoon of liquid next month
@@chuckentleutner4818 one thing we've all learned, each one of us is different, my ketone levels are like Keith, sometimes I frown when Becky does hers, but like Keith I'm down 80 lbs and at my goal weight. Thanks Bob
love your cup mate AUSTRALIA
If MCT oil does not break a fast, what about other supplements. My wife and I do IMF and take supplements instead of our meals as we usually only eat once a day. If there is a problem with the supplements breaking a fast when should you take them?
yes, it does feel weird going down the throat..........
I tend to add it to foods instead..........
Is it necessary to count MCT intake in daily macros on keto diet?
Yes
I take MCT oil in the late afternoon on days I am doing intermittent fasting. This keeps me from snacking before dinner.
What did you do to get ride of your gray beard! It looks mostly black with very little gray now! Instead of all gray?!!??
Nice...as always!
Love you both. Do you drink BPC? Not sure if I should since I'm trying to drop my body fat.
If I'm hypersensitive to MCT, How long should I keep 1 tsp as minimum dose before increasing to 2 tsp and finally 1tbsp ?
There’s no need to using mtc oil at all. People always look for work arounds and shortcuts. I’d recommend actually training your body to get your ketones higher. You might be tempted to use a bit of mtc oil if you’re doing a fast and feeling low in energy, but I don’t think you don’t want to do that of your ketones are very high.
Is MCT Oil to be used only when doing IF? Is there a better time of day to take the MCT oil? Also, if you’re following a low-carb diet vs Keto, is using MCT oil still a good idea or is it only recommended if you’re strictly IF and Keto?
I think it has benefits whether fasting or not.
@@2FitDocs Thank you. Happy Holidays to you both!
How does it effect your coffee flavor? I have always drank mine black so not sure about adding fat to it yet.
I have tried to download the starter kit but it keeps saying that there is a problem with my email address. Have tried three different addresses to no avail... help! We are in Canada.
