    I was a Marine that went through this school in 2013. Best school ever even though the Sailors got better libo than the Marines.

      Sadeth Cheng it's true, they kept you guys on a shorter leash than us, & in larger libo groups. Marines could leave in only groups of 4, Sailors, groups of two. My liberty buddy became my Wife later.

      more important than anything, make sure you are very very very very comfortable in the water, and that you can run at least 6 miles a day.
      & Unless anything has changed, expect to be in backlog for several months.
      Unless you are a corporal, or a sergeant or something oh, then you will be expedited to class up.

      Sorry for my latency but, I thank you for your consideration. If you are young, have good endurance, & don't get broken easy, you should do great. I would stress learning how to tread water, & swimming in general. almost anyone can run & do pushups all day long, but the water is where fear, & inability always surface. I seen maybe 3 people fail out of a class cause they could not PT, but I have seen water defeat everyone else, in some way shape or form. my head still hurts today due to that injury.

    Imma get through this, and one day.. I'll thank you more than ever for the heads up. Thank you for the motivation as well.
    edit: I can swim, been since I was 5. AND A HEATED POOL?!?! OMG YESSSSIRRR. Will keep swimming though.

    i leave in 14 days for navy bootcamp and then to pensacola for aircrew. is an injury the only way you can fail out of school?

    • @1mc568
      @1mc568  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      injury is the primary method, if you have more than a total of 30 med down sick days during your tenure at aircrew candidacy School, due to multiple illnesses or what not, that will get you booted from the program. lastly it's a hazardous training environment, so you can't be made to complete that training, if you are uncomfortable with the demands upon you at any given point in time, you can always drop out upon request. Otherwise known as DOR.

      Adam R during the W-S7, I suffered from immersion head trauma, that the VA is now classifying as a TBI. Some people's skulls and sinuses cannot handle to Rapid of a pressure change, it's only one in 3500, it's pretty rare, a study on the medical case, was concluded shortly before I arrived at that command. Some people experience it, and then get over it, some people end up becoming damaged from it. The W-S7 is approximately the 7th water trial, that eliminates most aircrew candidates.

    What’s the success rate for women in this pipeline?

    • @1mc568
      @1mc568  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm NOT gonna lie, AirCrew School isn't easy, but I have seen multiple female AirCrewMen in the Fleet, but you are gonna have to have a body like it's chiseled from marble, & also hope you don't have any under laying conditions, or predispositions to pressure sickness. AirCrew Candidacy School is not a walk in the park, it's about as hard as you would think Boot Camp outta be, even though Boot Camp, in actuality, it's a Joke. The AirCrew School House will be anywhere from 350-400 students Deep, maybe 30-40 of those students are females, of those 30- 40 girls, 10, or 15 MIGHT make it. Lastly the USN had less than 35 Female rescue swimmers graduate from Rescue Swimmer School since the position was opened to Females. Your Chances aren't Great, but if you REALLY want it, & train well now (DON'T BREAK YOURSELF BEFORE YOU GET THERE), you can get that position on an AirCrew. The TWO biggest things you will take away from the USN is, #1, Attention to Detail, & #2, You can do ANYTHING you put your mind to. Final word of advise, Boot Camp is gonna make you weak, IF, you are already a BEAST, when you get to NACCS, you are gonna go into back log for anywhere from 6 day, to 6 months, that's where you are gonna get strong again, or broken from being over Ran, worked, ext. So young lady welcome to the USN, where the Moto is Embrace the Suck, & as for NAS Pensacola, the Motto is happiness is SECURED. That's enough typing for now, I need to stop while I'm ahead.

      I just enlisted yesterdayfor reserves with a ship date of February 11. Signed up for aircrew but wondering now if that was the right decision, especially after watching this video. What is the average length of time from start to finish? The bare minimum is 8 months looking at the paper, but sounds like you could get backlogged for 6 months?? And I am a female, so chances of making it all the way through continue to go down

    • @Snowcat89onXbox360
      @Snowcat89onXbox360 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Full Time Support or regular reserves?
      This guys is salty and full of shit. NACCS is easy, TONs of girls make it. In fact, I honestly can't remember anyone not making it, except Marines haha. Marines cant swim for shit for some reason haha. For regular Aircrew, you can expect to be in training as a student for about 1 and a half years. Rescue swimmers can go up to 2 years or more in some cases. After NACCS, the only way to get dropped is by being a total idiot or getting in trouble out in town.
      Hit the pool a bit, work out on your own, and you'll be fine.

    • @ashleybinder4804
      @ashleybinder4804 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m just doing normal reserves. Does it take so long because of backlogging? And what exactly does that mean?

    • @Snowcat89onXbox360
      @Snowcat89onXbox360 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Active duty goes through NACCS, A- School, SERE, and FRS. I think since you are not full time support you only do NACCS and A-school, so you should be done in maybe 5-6 months MAX. And the hold time before classing up varies on how many people are currently there.

      it's really at 25 the body starts to,...change, the real word is decline, but hey. Most people never have asked that much of them selves, & their bodies before, but in the Military the bar is set REASONABLY high, nothing REALLY crazy is asked of you, just to live at your bodies full potential. If done safely, you'll be fine. So long as you are not over 25, you shouldn't have any problems with cardiovascular output, or sensitivities to rapid pressure change. some peoples bodies can take a LOT, but then all of a sudden after ten years of service, they may start bleeding out of an ear, or nose one day, & that's the last time they every fly PERIOD. So if you are in DEP, & are leaving soon, you are about to see the world for what it really is. The first two years are the hardest, after that you will never understand what the problem ever was, lol. Training commands suck, & so does being in a student status, but once you make it to the fleet, things will still be fast paced, & you will work like you never have, but at least you will have occasionally have freedom. If you stay in long enough, you will have enough freedom, so you don't feel like a COMPLETE slave all the time, but the Truth is, being in the Military is JUST like living under Communist law,.........& what I used to tell everyone that thanked me for my service, was "I sacrificed my Freedom, so I could secure yours" being a Civilian has just as many benefits as being a service member, the biggest being, opportunity, & Freedom. So use your services as a stepping stone, & come back to rock the Civilian world, as a Veteran. The Military is a place to learn how to get shit done.

      @@ryanas447 Be VERY careful while you are in there, the Corruption run just as deep in the Military as it Does in the DC swamp. At some point in time, you are going to learn that if you Don't drink the Kool-Aide, you won't be on the insiders Club, be wary of when that moment comes. at some point in time you may catch someone high on the Totem Pole doing something dishonorable, if you ever decide to do something about it, make sure its completely anonymous.
