Is it worth it, absolutely. Is it anything you couldn't mod yourself? No, you could customize a spare ds and mod it for free but this... this works on unmodded 3ds and ds lites, dsi, and 2ds. You could always buy an R4 cart too, but this would require you to find the roms yourself.
Probably better to buy any decent ds flashcart and then find the games yourself, unless you're unable to find them. The one in these types of carts probably aren't as good (could be a 10 dollar time-bomb cart)
It's kind of interesting that these DS games can fit to an 8 GB flash drive, I think -- in theory, you can put all Gen 1 to Gen 5 games in one Switch cartridge, and selling it for say $120 dollars will probably have fans still be nuts for it.

For anyone curious about R4 cards, I’ve dealt with around 150 of the R4 Gold Pro. Literally zero were defective. To get rid of the timebomb, simply install YSMenu firmware instead of the R4 kernel they instruct you to install. It is just a drag and drop of 4 files you can easily find, and it runs better anyway. Grab a class 10 micro SD card. A $5 32GB will hold around 300 DS games, plus well over 5,000 retro games (NES, SNES, Genesis, Master System, Game Gear, GB, GBC to name some. GBA emulator runs badly so not worth it). For the ROMS, you should be able to find full libraries pretty easily. Total cost: around $15, total games: 5,000-10,000
For those of you who actually want to buy one of these, look for an R4 cart instead, these ones advertising themselves as "Tons of games in 1" have a "timebomb" that will render your cart unusable after a certain period of time.
You can easily fix that by backing up your MicroSD card information onto your laptop/ computer prior to using the cartridge. I actually ordered this exact cartridge a week prior, and they have a note attached to the packaging stating that you're heavily recommended to back up your MicroSD card in case of you witnessing a "rare error" that is basically the timebomb. They also include a contact if you have any issues, and have excellent reviews on Etsy, with 4k reviews with an overwhelming majority rating it 5 stars.

999 was an unexpected gem in this cartridge, but so glad it was on it. Of course there's always the Steam ver. but I love the DS experience. Never available here in the UK, and when it is copies go for mad expensive.
I ordered this exact same cartridge a few weeks ago, and the packaging had a note attached to it in big bold letters that you should back up your MicroSD card onto your laptop/ computer before using the cartridge in case of a "rare error" bricking the device. They also promote their contact information if you happen to need assistance with anything outside of recovering lost data on that same note. Their Etsy page for the cartridge also has over 4k reviews, with a vast majority rating it 5 stars. Though it only came with the inner cartridge case (the ones you use to hold individual cartridges), so I don't know how you obtained that 208-in-1 outer case.
@@anachronist420 if you brick a device, it means the device is basically unusable. Since the cartridge is not an official DS cartridge, it is very likely that it can cause your device to be unusable.

If you have some computer knowledge (and a computer) then don’t. You can just download roms onto a “r4” (someone else should be explaining this cause I don’t know) and play any games you download.

Hell, if i didn't have the carts myself, I'd buy it just for the Dragon Quests. The DS remakes go for almost the price of a Heart Gold/Soul Silver at most stores.

Your going to love this if you buy it cause it's the hacked versions of the game volt white 2 and blaze black 2 it's a little tougher than the normal one but it's still fun and you get to catch every pokemon from gen 5 back to gen 1
@@thatsagent7956 No. There's not enough space left on the SD card to fit Black 2 or White 2. The hacks actually have much smaller mb size than the original games. You'd have to delete a game or two to make space.
When I was younger my friend had something like this and I thought it was the coolest thing. I remember my family took me and my brothers to the fake electronics market and at the time (11 years ago) they had a list of a bunch of games and you got to choose which games you wanted and then theyd make a cartridge for you. I didn't go through with it because I wanted a premade version like in the video.
Pretty much. I still actually have mine from what I bought almost a decade ago and I still have ALL the ds games files from when my friend gave them to me before Nintendo went nuclear on most sites (even Ace Attorney Investigations 2 that I patched myself)
I have this one and it’s honestly awesome! It seems to work fine on my DSi XL, my original 3DS, and my 2DS. The BW2 games are modded on mine but every other game I’ve played on it has been normal. For anyone else looking to buy this one, I will note that if you jostle the DS too much your game may crash, such was the instance when I was playing FE 11. My game crashed and I lost about 30 mins of progress, so just something to note. I’d still highly recommend it, I got to try many new games and even was introduced to one of my now favorite games of all time, Ghost Trick!

Everyone's already said this, but this is just a bootleg r4 clone. I wouldn't trust these cards preloaded with games, as they could have what's called a timebomb on them. Basically after a certain date the card no longer functions. If you want a card like this, I'd say get an "r4i gold 3ds+ rts" (that's a mouthful). It doesn't have a timebomb, and I would say it's the best of the r4 clones. It can also be used to easily mod your 3ds. You mentioned that you thought eventually a 3ds version of a card like this would start popping up on the market. They actually already came out with a 3ds flashcard. It was called gateway 3ds, and at the time it was released it was the only way to play backups of your games. To my knowledge, you could only store 8 games on it period. Once a game was on the card it was on there forever. I don't think we'll be getting anymore 3ds flashcards anytime soon, because instead of buying one of those, you could just mod your 3ds. Not only does modding a 3ds offer more features than a flashcard, but it's also free (at the time of writing). As for ds flashcards, they'll probably stick around until ndsbootstrap gets full compatibility.
Don’t worry I checked with the cartridge I have and it didn’t have a time bomb in I don’t know if I was just lucky or if this brand of R4 cartridges don’t have timebombs in and even if it does it’s very easy to fix by just setting your DS clock back
@@penguinpowerpack3p78 I dont think Ace3ds+ has any timebombs installed either. The issue you'll most likely bump into is the cheap sd card. It will most likely corrupt itself over time due to lack of space and overall quality of it. You can easily transfer it to a better higher quality sd card to get this issue fixed though.
@@thetechdude1 way too many to list the full changes, but you can get most, if not every pokemon before the elite 4 (including trade evolutions and event pokemon), gym leaders/trainers have more and stronger pokemon, and various balance changea to make it harder I prefer it to vanilla, but there's some guides out there, just google difftences or changes
@@marcodagoat8696 homwbeew your 3ds then you can run gen 1 and 2 by insraling the virtual console,or play the 3ds ones by ggetting the games. You can run gen 4 and 5 roms with tqilight menu and you can play tba games on the 3ds with homebrew.

I have one of these not the exact model I have one that has 500 in one it's definitely worth the money I think I paid $30 + I only got it because I had some of the rom's on this cart I just can't use the actual cartridge's any more because some of pins are pretty fucked and now there unplayable so yeah it was worth the price

@@arunraman6630 Emuparadise was the only major site that's shut down. Most likely because of them making it so that you can play it online. Many other rom sites are still fine, such as cdromance and Vimm.
I just bought a 3DS XL a few days ago i bought Radiant Historia for 50 dollars yesterday. And my 3DS came with 5 games. I went and bought this cartridge for all the DS games mostly the pokemon games. My shipping time line which they say i should get it is June 28th - Aug 31st LOL. It was 17 dollars coming from China so i have no idea if it'll actuality ship to me or if I'll get it. I'll try to update my comment when i receive and test the cartridge :P lol.
The card didn't work on the 3ds because it's an older R4 they've packed with downloaded roms and sold for profit. Nintendo implemented a whitelist in the 3DS firmware that blocks old DS flashcards. You'd need to buy a new unblocked R4i gold 3DS and flash the latest firmware to it or install CFW on the 3DS which will allow it to boot.
If you're even considering giving a person selling something like this money, don't bother. A lot of these resold flashcards have "time bombs" that deactivate the card after a certain amount of time and prevent it from booting. Buy yourself a 20 dollar R4i Gold 3DS Plus from nds-card and get the roms yourself. Works on any DS/3DS and the cart also makes it super easy to hack a 3DS if you wanna install emulators or something.

On this cartridge (which I have) b2w2 are blaze black 2 and volt white 2 rather than the original so if you are purchasing be careful

Not for nothing, you had dudes in NYC selling those back in the day. They're really hard to find nowadays, but you could go to these Asian videogame/card shops and get those.

Your going to love this if you buy it cause it's the hacked versions of the game volt white 2 and blaze black 2 it's a little tougher than the normal one but it's still fun and you get to catch every pokemon from gen 5 back to gen 1

@@thatsagent7956 No. There's not enough space left on the SD card to fit Black 2 or White 2. The hacks actually have much smaller mb size than the original games. You'd have to delete a game or two to make space.
When I was younger my friend had something like this and I thought it was the coolest thing. I remember my family took me and my brothers to the fake electronics market and at the time (11 years ago) they had a list of a bunch of games and you got to choose which games you wanted and then theyd make a cartridge for you.
I didn't go through with it because I wanted a premade version like in the video.

Pretty much. I still actually have mine from what I bought almost a decade ago and I still have ALL the ds games files from when my friend gave them to me before Nintendo went nuclear on most sites (even Ace Attorney Investigations 2 that I patched myself)

In my opinion the 2DS feels great in my hands. It’s not too top heavy.
I have this one and it’s honestly awesome! It seems to work fine on my DSi XL, my original 3DS, and my 2DS. The BW2 games are modded on mine but every other game I’ve played on it has been normal. For anyone else looking to buy this one, I will note that if you jostle the DS too much your game may crash, such was the instance when I was playing FE 11. My game crashed and I lost about 30 mins of progress, so just something to note. I’d still highly recommend it, I got to try many new games and even was introduced to one of my now favorite games of all time, Ghost Trick!

Essentially, you purchased an R4 with nothing but all the DS titles on it. There's a lot of these out there and it's nuts barely anyone talks about this.

Sorry to bring this up 3 months after you commented. Do the Heart Gold/Soul Silver games on this cart trade with OEM Pokemon games?
Everyone's already said this, but this is just a bootleg r4 clone. I wouldn't trust these cards preloaded with games, as they could have what's called a timebomb on them. Basically after a certain date the card no longer functions. If you want a card like this, I'd say get an "r4i gold 3ds+ rts" (that's a mouthful). It doesn't have a timebomb, and I would say it's the best of the r4 clones. It can also be used to easily mod your 3ds.
You mentioned that you thought eventually a 3ds version of a card like this would start popping up on the market. They actually already came out with a 3ds flashcard. It was called gateway 3ds, and at the time it was released it was the only way to play backups of your games. To my knowledge, you could only store 8 games on it period. Once a game was on the card it was on there forever.
I don't think we'll be getting anymore 3ds flashcards anytime soon, because instead of buying one of those, you could just mod your 3ds. Not only does modding a 3ds offer more features than a flashcard, but it's also free (at the time of writing). As for ds flashcards, they'll probably stick around until ndsbootstrap gets full compatibility.
Don’t worry I checked with the cartridge I have and it didn’t have a time bomb in I don’t know if I was just lucky or if this brand of R4 cartridges don’t have timebombs in and even if it does it’s very easy to fix by just setting your DS clock back
@@penguinpowerpack3p78 I dont think Ace3ds+ has any timebombs installed either. The issue you'll most likely bump into is the cheap sd card. It will most likely corrupt itself over time due to lack of space and overall quality of it. You can easily transfer it to a better higher quality sd card to get this issue fixed though.

@@thetechdude1 way too many to list the full changes, but you can get most, if not every pokemon before the elite 4 (including trade evolutions and event pokemon), gym leaders/trainers have more and stronger pokemon, and various balance changea to make it harder
I prefer it to vanilla, but there's some guides out there, just google difftences or changes

I have one of these not the exact model I have one that has 500 in one it's definitely worth the money I think I paid $30 + I only got it because I had some of the rom's on this cart I just can't use the actual cartridge's any more because some of pins are pretty fucked and now there unplayable so yeah it was worth the price
Or you get a cheaper r4 card and download roms for free. Or just skip the card entirely if you have a 2/3ds with CFW.

Many other rom sites are still fine, such as cdromance and Vimm.

I just bought a 3DS XL a few days ago i bought Radiant Historia for 50 dollars yesterday. And my 3DS came with 5 games. I went and bought this cartridge for all the DS games mostly the pokemon games. My shipping time line which they say i should get it is June 28th - Aug 31st LOL. It was 17 dollars coming from China so i have no idea if it'll actuality ship to me or if I'll get it.

The card didn't work on the 3ds because it's an older R4 they've packed with downloaded roms and sold for profit. Nintendo implemented a whitelist in the 3DS firmware that blocks old DS flashcards. You'd need to buy a new unblocked R4i gold 3DS and flash the latest firmware to it or install CFW on the 3DS which will allow it to boot.
If you're even considering giving a person selling something like this money, don't bother. A lot of these resold flashcards have "time bombs" that deactivate the card after a certain amount of time and prevent it from booting. Buy yourself a 20 dollar R4i Gold 3DS Plus from nds-card and get the roms yourself. Works on any DS/3DS and the cart also makes it super easy to hack a 3DS if you wanna install emulators or something.

The timing on this video showing up for me is hilarious because I was just thinking like 20 minutes ago abt how I had a ds cartridge that had another smaller cartridge inside of it that you could remove and plug into a computer (needed an adapter but I forgot exactly how it worked since it’s been so long) and you can literally download whatever DS games you wanted to it and I had a bunch of games I vaguely remember but mostly Pokémon games (sadly I lost my first one and I got a second one and lost that one too since I was a dumb kid that lost all the cartridges that actually mattered I only have my lame games left) Edit: (formatting is gonna be weird since I’m in mobile) Wrote this comment before I actually watched the video. The cartridge was pretty much Identical to this one except the Art on the front was white and I think it had some writing on it but I don’t remember everything perfectly. Great cartridge, kinda bummed I lost it with the potential it had lmao
