Pat Benatar AND Neil Giraldo Were Both Inducted Into The Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame 07/22(?/-)/2022!
They Had A Couple Of Their Own Musical & Personal Milestones To Announce:
In 2022 Pat & Neil Celebrated Their 43rd Anniversary Of When They First Started Playing Music Together (1979-2022)!
Not To Mention That Pat Benatar & Neil Giraldo Celebrated Their 40TH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY!!
Pat (I’ve been told) Has Not Lost A Single “NOTE”, Octave or Vocal Range in The Last 43 YEARS! Why? Because She Was Trained To Be An Opera Singer (Just Like Her Mother Was)! Ms. Benatar & Her Husband Mr. Giraldo Had IMMEDIATE CHEMISTRY AS MUSICIANS & Partners In Real Life!

Go see Pat Benatar in concert if you can, you won’t be disappointed. I saw her several times in the 80’s and her voice sounded even better live. I saw her in 2019 and her voice sounded exactly like it did in the 80’s. She was trained as an opera singer, so she knew how to care for her vocal chords so they wouldn’t get damaged. She never smoked or had a drug or alcohol problem, so even at age 70 she can still belt it out.

    • @michaelsoper3610
      @michaelsoper3610 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Totally agree. Finally had a chance to see Pat this past summer. Pipes and attitude still going strong. The years training as an opera singer didn't go to waste. Few voices have been worked as hard and held up so well.

Nice reaction. Pat turned down the Rock and Roll Hall of fame until they took her husband too. He's the guitarist in the video. Still together all these years later. They're rock Royalty. Pat is another singer who off stage is 5'2" tall. On stage a 10' giant. Many a female artist owe her a debt of gratitude. She broke doors down in the industry. Along with a few others. Pat was the cover girl for it over a long period of time. And she's still performing. One of the great things about Rock, you can do it until you say you can't. When Pat sings you listen. This is the way.

I saw Pat open for the band Toto in 2018, so she was still rockin' then. She is still so tiny but could still belt out her songs. I remember hearing about times that she passed out onstage, because her pants were too tight and she couldn't breathe! LOL! That is Pat's husband, Neil Giraldo, on guitar; he's also phenomenal. They have been an awesome team for decades and married for over 40 years.. Pat was classically trained to be an opera singer and has a 5 octave range and is still a powerhouse singer; she still tours and still has such a strong voice! Rock on, Pat! React to "Love is a Battlefield" with Pat's original video..

I found a song she did at Harry Chapin's Memorial service. It was one of his called Shooting Star. It is spectacular. Not as rocking but the emotion in the song shines through.

Pat Benatar was the bomb back in the day; that woman was indeed fierce. 🔥 Check out also her underrated song, "Sex as a Weapon"... one of her best!!

My absolute favorite! ❤I saw Pat so many times in concert.
Back in the late 80’s I was going on vacation. We were flying from NY to LA.
They were on the same flight as us!!They were in 1st class so we had to crash 1st class to meet them. She & her husband were incredibly nice!
That made my whole trip. We could have turned around & come home, & I would have been happy. LoL 😂

Hell is for children came out late 70s it was her first release. Haven't heard it on radio in years and years but when it first came out they played the hell out of it. Yes it's a hard song to listen to but tells an important story. All her songs are great but hell is for children is my favorite. She held no punches and made people think.

Pat played at my college in the late 80s and my roommate and I helped set up and heard her warming up. UNBELIEVABLE! Neil is so underrated as a musician. He probably would have been a front man if he had gone a different path

The song has a lot of neat things going on, musically. The chorus is never quite the same, and its chord progression doesn't resolve until she does that long darrrrrrkkkk at the end. That keeps the tension mounting and mounting--you keep wanting it to get settled and it doesn't until she belts out that last riff at the end--everything gets tied up there in a great way with that voice of hers. I'm not smart enough to know what the chords are, butI I know a good progression when I hear it.
Same thing with the guitar solo--GIrardo keeps circling around one theme, takes us almost there--but not quite. He doesn't resolve it until that hard slide at the end. He wasn't the greatest guitarist, ever, but he was definitely an underrated one. That was really good stuff.
