    I think the term 'wireless' needs to be redefined!

    • @TheProvokedPrawn
      @TheProvokedPrawn  หลายเดือนก่อน +7

      It's a wireless controller basically

    • @lancealex382
      @lancealex382 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

      @@TheProvokedPrawn I get that but everything 'wireless' literally has wires, it's a bit of a misnomer! And that massive dongle isn't exactly elegant, it potentially uses/blocks three ports with that footprint. Moan moan hah. Good content though

    • @TheProvokedPrawn
      @TheProvokedPrawn  หลายเดือนก่อน +6

      @@lancealex382 yeah agreed. It's a bit big. I'd personally put it internally and hide it away and then it's not wireless. They should have just called them the User Friendly Unifans or something. Much simpler than previous models.

    I wish these had come out a year ago. These are legit competition for the icue link system imo and also have Lian Li's superior lighting and aesthetics.

    I was wondering about where would the power come from if the fans were not directly connected to the motherboard in other words totally wireless.
    It’s actually the controller which is now connected to the motherboard via USB port instead of with SATA port inside the chassis, but the controller doesn’t only serves the purpose of controlling speed and lighting, it also simplifies the cable management where you connect all of the fans to it and a single wire running from your controller to the motherboard.

    finally an actual competition to corsair's icue link..
    i've been hearing people bragging about Lian-Li UNI for ages and bashing against Corsair's iCUE link, completely disregarding the fact that iCUE link was a far superior system to Lian-Li's original UNI fans, now with these UNI "Wireless" fans the comparison can be made, and in all regards only now Lian-Li actually offers a direct competitor to Corsair's iCUE Link...
    why didn't they went in this approach when they initially introduced their UNI ecosystem? its so much better than whatever the heck they were doing originally...

    To each their own I guess, the amount of time I spend looking at my PC, I don't think it's worth spending almost £300 on 10 RGB fans, when I can get 10 P12's for just over £50. Not to mention you will have to have more background software running which will probably mean no Linux support. Although I will admit, the reverse fans being the same price as the standard ones is nice :)
