Super glad to see ETA prime over a mil subscribers. For such a niche market, it's surprising but genuinely deserved. I think with the popularity of the Ally and now the Legion Go we've got enough people interested in handhelds and mini PC's to boost channels like this and their overall popularity which is just going to lead us all to a better place in technology. If any companies are out there reading this, I want a Mini PC with a battery and an x-real like glasses setup to run a z1 extreme or 780m from a 7840u on the go with those sweet new OLED glasses🤤🤤🤤

I like that slide-out dock for the handhelds. Makes it more portable. I wouldn't call it "ultimate" without an M.2 drive slot though, which other docks have. When I have my Steam Deck docked, I boot off an external M.2 drive to Windows. Sadly Valve still hasn't finished the OLED versions of the Windows drivers for Audio, WiFi and Bluetooth. No audio is a real killer. They've been "coming soon" for far too long... Anyway, the dock is pretty nice. JSAUX has been doing some good stuff.

The only thing that seems to work is to plug in a USB audio card that lets it use a generic plug-n-play driver. In the CPU driver package, it states that the "Galileo audio driver is not ready", and that file is dated from September. :( If you google "Steam Deck OLED Windows Drivers" and click the first link, you'll see the ever-present "Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and Audio drivers for Windows on Steam Deck OLED are currently being worked on, and will be available soon." But this is Valve, and I don't think their idea of "soon" matches with mine. And note that I'm only talking about booting into Windows. If you boot to SteamOS all that should be working fine, even when docked.
Well, it's a step in the right direction but the lack of support for freesync / gsync / vrr on the display port is a miss. I'm not sure there are many PC monitors with an hdmi 2.1 port.
Awesome. Though it would be nice if you could find and showcase a dock which supports a dual-external-monitor setup for a Steam Deck, be it two HDMI ports or an HDMI and a USB-C port. Nice dock. Did you happen to try connecting multiple monitors to the dock? I run a triple monitor setup and was wondering if the dock was capable of driving all 3 monitors.
Im not sure about the HDMI 2.1. That protocol needs more that 40Gbps of bandwidth. Usb4 has a max output of 40gbps. But looks like the provided cable is 3.2 with a max 10gbps. So, the would mean that the controller chip is indeed 10gbps(probably) and it will create a bottleneck. It is confusing to me
The RJ45 placement is... confusing to say the least, is there a use case where you wouldn't want it facing the rear of the unit with the rest of the IO? Are people hot swapping from their RJ45 port?
"The only dock you'll need"...as long as you ignore the part where the company themselves tell you outright that it doesn't work with the Nintendo Switch. I don't understand why it's so difficult to make one of these things that works well for these devices and a switch -I realize the port is on the other side, but there's nothing to stop you from just flipping the swith over, since it doesn't use the screen and the HDMI out at the same time anyway...
I was wondering that. Is it a communication issue? Or just port placement? If it’s only the port (I highly doubt it is) then you can just buy a right angle adapter and run the cable under the little shelf. Or like you said just turn it upside down. To me if it’s USBC all the female ports should follow the same standard of connection placement.
@@BowsettesFurypart of me suspects that a lot of 3rd party manufacturers (with just a couple exceptions) are scared to support the Switch after what Nintendo pulled a few yeara ago -sure, it eventually came out in court that Nintendo was intentionally and maliciously bricking people's systems if they detected a 3rd party dock, but that was a couple years after the fact, and a lot of those 3rd party manufacturers got stuck paying the bill for systems that were actually broken by Nintendo themselves until that point. I could see that really making companies hesitant to support the hardware unfortunately. I know of at least one or two companies that make their own Switch Dock options, but I'm not sure if they're compatible with the Steam Deck or other higher powered devices.
Dude if you plug a 65watt charger in to a dock then the computer plugged in to the dock will not get 65 watts, the dock will take roughly 10watts. So if you have had issues with other dock and you have used the included 65 watt charger that probbably is your issue. As in documentation on a few of the docks I have looked at openly states that the dock will take somwhere between 8-15watts depending on connected peripherals
For this being the "ultimate hand-held desktop setup" you would think that this would have an eGPU in it so that it actually works better with a monitor. However it doesn't... What is the purpose of high refresh rate docks without a GPU?
as someone who has a JSAUX dock, its not perfect, sometimes you got to swap around ports for your mouse n' keyboard to get them functioning, the hdmi chooses when it wants to work which in my case it only has worked once. Im not saying you shouldnt get it but dont expect everything to work right out the box.
I have that problem with a non JSaux dock, but it happened for a very brief time between one version of the steam deck OS which corrected itself once the next update went through.
Maybe its a difference in hardware , last night I couldnt even get the charger working through the dock, had to plug it through the top port, Im running a legion go.

It's iffy. The switch uses a weird standard for video over usb c, so it's a gamble if it will work or not. The answer is usually no in my experience at least

My PC is currently down, so I was looking for a solution to keep playing on my monitor, and I was looking for a port like this. I get today and I can confirm that is working flawlessly at 1440p 260hz. I was more interested in the ethernet connection because is a headache to play MW3 with wifi, and is also working flawlessly. But I prefer to keep it 1080p at 260hz and is been a banger.
nothing random about it, just set it to the color that fits the rest of your setup ...or TURN IT OFF. i will never understand the RGB haters, the lightshow is just for marketing, that is not how you are supposed to actually use it. I like blue, i set everything to blue and that is that.
I like the features of this dock, but I don't like the fact they released it so soon after the non-S version. There are some instances where VRR and ALLM would be helpful on an external monitor and now only this newer dock can do it.
only thing still missing from all these docks is a optical port for TOS Link. Yeah it has HDMI, but we are on PC monitors, not HDTVs sooo no HDMI audio passthrough here... getting 5.1 Surround out of that stuff is a PITA with version dependent HDMI Splitters and adapters 'n shit dangling off your stuff.

I just bought an Odin 2 and was interested in a dock (the official one they're selling is just...meh). Does this one work with the Odin 2? Is it possible we miss any functions? One thing that puts me off is the Odin 2 having the usb connection on the bottom
official odin 2 dock is amazing.. really good quality and metal not like this cheap plastic jsaux (its so lightweight that if you use the rog ally/steam deck with a case it will drop infront , it never stays in place) also odin 2 dock have spot for nvme inside too!
I have a dock, small USB c cable with 90 degrees connector to the Ally. There is the 100W PD USB-c port and another USB c port In/Out. The USB c port on the Ally itself is also video out, so my USB c to HDMI works great. But on the dock the extra USB c port doesn't do video out and only HDMI will save the day. How is that with this JSAUX dock and the extra USB c port ?
Does the USB-c port offer video out? I have an Ally and I use the UGreen 6-in-1 dock. I also use a pair of AR glasses. My main gripe with the UGreen dock is that the USB-c doesn't do video out, so I have to run an HDMI-to-USBC converter for my AR glasses to work, but it limits me to 60Hz
The usb c cable it comes with is so long and as you said a 90 degree would be a lot nicer .its a 240w cable this is the one that connects the back left USB c so you can get the picture on your monitor will a 100w one work i tried 60 and no luck any help thanks
That 12 in one Dock doesn't support Gsync / Freesync. There are cheaper alternatives that are Gsynch/freesync compatible. Nobody is speaking about this.
I'll stick with my $23 JSAUX hb0602 dock as it works fantastically for my Legion Go and Steam Deck. The RGB is pretty sweet though, but I got enough of that on my 4070 gaming beast.

Can you not send the audio out of the headphone jack while docked? If not that would be a huge bummer.

Nope only 2. The Extra USB C doesn't support video.
It needs built-in fan, and probably a higher power in for all slot working at the same time.

First dock I've seen outside the steam deck official that has VRR support.

You can turn off the rgb but would have to use an external m.2 enclosure

And legion go as I have mine plugged into one right now which arrived 2hrs ago. HDMI sucks a bit on it but DisplayPort is all good.

If this had been uploaded like a week earlier I would've probably gotten this instead of my anker 575. Do you think it would be worth returning it and getting this or is that probably gonna be better either way?

I am sorry say this but what is the point of this dock if none of the handles can barley do anything above 720p.
