Seat armrest

  • The green armrest can reach two positions;
    1. Folding down position.
    2. Horizontal (working) position.
    To switch between these positions, raise the armrest to its highest position then return it to the next position. The gravity tends to turn down the armrest.
    The yellow cam is fixed to the seat frame. The pink cam is rotated on a pivot fixed to the armrest under the interaction with the yellow cam.

    The cleverness and diversity of your mechanisms always astounds me! Love your work. I would love to see some clever variations that incorporate the Peucaulier linkage in future works; I have always found it to be a quite beautiful mechanism

    There will be a lot of force on the moving part when it's in that locked position. I don't know what material could withstand that pressure. I can see a of material failure in this

    Very clever, but not practical, because vibration will cause the pink cam to be in an indeterminate position.

    • @nefariousyawn
      @nefariousyawn ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think the cam just needs to be fastened tight enough to resist vibration.

    • @thang010146
      @thang010146  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Create a frictional moment between the pink cam and the armrest (e.g. using a spring).
