  • Press down the outer arm of the yellow lever to lock the wheel.
    Press down the inner arm of the yellow lever to unlock the wheel.
    The outer cylinder of the lever is eccentrically arranged on the rotary axis of the lever.
    The orange part is a flat spring. It tends to separate from the wheel.

    What keeps it in the locked position?

      The yellow lever creates a force on the wheel via the orange flat spring.
      Friction between the spring and the wheel prevents the wheel from rotation.

      @@thang010146 Yes, but what keeps the yellow lever down? If I rotate the wheel, it will push against the spring which will push the yellow lever back up. Something needs to lock the yellow lever in the down position for this to be an effective system.

      The yellow lever acts as an eccentric clamp like in:

      @@bclaus0 On the "down" position, the spring pushes towards the center of the eccentric lever thus has no leverage. The spring is just there to increase the contact surface on the wheel + keeping the lever on the "up" position.
