3D hand operated tumbler mixer

  • Input: pink shaft.
    This is an application of the Schatz linkage which consists of 5 movable links.
    Center distance of revolute joints of two green grippers and the yellow cage are equal (= a).
    Center distance between pink and blue shafts = a*sqrt(3) = 1.732a
    The materials to be mixed are in the blue container with 3D complex motion.

    Brilliant design! Is there a way from the software to know how "smooth" the input cranking force would be? Because it looks like the CG is shifting around a bit.

      It's the problem of exporting videos in 2017 version of Inventor. I have tried to eliminate it with no success. On the computer the simulation is very smooth.
      I didn't have this problem in the 2008 version.

      @@thang010146 Thang, you misunderstood. Harrison is asking about the crank input force as a function of time, due to the acceleration of the center of gravity of the tumbler (F = m*a).
      Harrison, yes, it would be possible to run a simulation and find out.

    I did it with CATIA but I have a problem about kinematic. The program is say "there is so command" and sometimes "Add a least command" I guess there are joints that must not be assigned? If you have any idea about these problem, please tell me.
