Great interview, it was really great to hear him talk about retraining himself. I would be curious to hear him talk about the awkward period of integrating his new technique and how long it took him to start applying it to actual play versus just practicing.
I'm in my 30's now, played in a punk band growing up and also developed tons of bad habits. Now I am relearning with the help of all these great resources, and I have become obsessive about technique, I love it. So for me, this has been one of the best interviews I have seen in a while, I could totally relate!

Old school punk bands with not super excellent musicians made it perfect.

This was such a great video! Lots of great advice. I am also a punk drummer that has found my way into a blues/soul/feel type band and I get what he's saying. It's SOOOOOO hard to play quiet on a full drum set in a room with musicians that have tiny or no amps and keep the tempo. Everytime I try and play quiet, I slow down and they're like.....why?? haha I've tried to explain it, I might show them this video. They aren't real keen to play to a click but I think it would help me a lot as I'm forever rushing or dragging. You don't need to worry about that shit in punk haha Cheers legends!

Great to see Stvo32 again and talking music and drums, but Eric at times is brutal. Need to learn from some of the best in doing interviews. Set thing up and let the guess go....and in your format you don't even need to cut them off or try to redirect them as you have editing at your finger tips. Look at some late night with David Letterman and others. Good to see Stevo32 again all the same. Cheers!
