  • Brain fog or Hypoactivity is very common in people with ADHD, especially those with inattentive type, previously called ADD, and combined type. It is also common in other disorders. I struggle a lot with brain fog, and today was especially bad. So today I will show you how I struggle with brain fog.

Do you experience The Fog (TM)? What does it feel like for you?

I've had a problem with brain fog my whole life. Caffeine is a help but I started trying a medicine for ADHD that moves the cogs up a little bit and that was good. It's a difficult scale to balance when your brain misfires and tics start with the anxiety that come with them. So literally it takes the right concoction of things, something to ease the anxiety and "convulsions" " burst of tics" and something to get the cogs spinning quicker but not trigger the anxiety. We are tough people to live life like we do. My verbal outbursts don't have words they are just sounds of horribleness and it makes my brain hurt. Today my neck and back are in severe pain like what it feels like after having a large siezure. Thanks for sharing, love your living space and glad the algorithm found you. Take care.

So sorry you're going through this as well. It's def a difficult balance to get going but not push yourself over the edge at the same time.
      And happy you're here :D

I would love to see a video about the difference between feeling brain fog and dissociation (like derealization, depersonalization) cause I feel like I've felt both but I'm not sure which one I struggle with all the time. I guess it might be brain fog because it's not as intense, but its a constant state of brain fog and feeling disconnected from myself. Like my body is not my own, it's just there.

I will def do a video on that!

Hi Luca - until I saw your video I didn't even understand what brain fog was. Thank you for explaining it and showing it so clearly, especially since it is clearly something you had to push through in order to share the information with us.

So sorry to hear that, brain fog sucks! But awesome that you have this attitude towards it! I def think therapy can help. And medication and exercise as well!

The description reminds me of how I feel every single day for the first few hours upon waking up... With the added thing that it often just makes me crawl into bed because I can't get anything done and am always tired, so might as well get more sleep (it never really helps, just adds another cycle of whatever that feeling is). Cognition tends to work, but Doing Things just feels impossible like that and I dissociate a lot trying to get stuff done or switching tasks...

that's so frustrating.. i totally get that.
I'd love to always have that feeling of clarity that some people seem to get

Another great informative video! Thank you for sharing! And don't ever be concerned or embarrassed, please. We wouldn't know these things if you didn't share, everybody's life is different. You're awesome! 💜
Watching what you were going through and explaining Brain Fog reminds me of what it feels and looks like when someone takes too much Ketamine.

Mate well done on making and putting this video up, it was awesome and I'm proud of you for cleaning up the bookshelf lol.
I have been having really intense brain fog the last few days and was looking for a sample of it to see its relationship to ADHD, because I've only recently been diagnosed with ADHD. I've got a few conditions, I'm on a lot of meds (although nothing for adhd YET), and I've gotten really good at kicking and judging myself. Like you said you use to do, I just thought I was lazy and kept punishing myself.
Thankyou for sharing your experience. Not only does it give others an idea what it's like but it also helped me not to feel so alone which I needed today.
I reckon that would have taken so so much courage to keep recording and then put that up. Thankyou

Thank you so much for your comment. This really means a lot!
I completely understand how frustrating brain fog is. I really hope it'll get better for you soon!
Thanks again. I haven't been uploading for a bit, and this def gave me a boost of motivation to get back at it :D

Have ADHD meds helped you at all with the brain fog? Or are you not taking any? :)

Thank you for this. I have the brain fog with fibromyalgia. I've never saw this in another person and I can see the exhaustion in your face. I feel so dumb when I can't find simple words in my head and when you said I'm not stupid I felt that bc I've said it myself. Again just ty!
