Actually there is nothing cute about this. Dogs like Malamutes have an undercoat under their regular fur. Cutting it all back like this will cause the under coat to grown back too thick and he will overheat because the natural insulation balance of his under and over coat has been overthrown.

For anyone thinking of cooking on rocks, be so very careful! These are specific river rocks that can be heated. Regular rocks can and will EXPLODE when heated. Stick to safe, normal cooking methods unless you know what you are doing. :)
