My secret to dating: I don't need any guys in my life, I pursue my work and passions and because I'm happy confident and like myself... men flock to me. I never set a guy as my target of what I want, I can't control men, but when I see a guy showing interest, then I start considering him... because I try to view the world like this, If a guy likes me, he's pretty smart and if he doesn't, then I'm not wasting time on him. As for the whole getting over 50 marriage proposals before I was 24 well that's probably just because I was in Utah so I'm not sure its relevant, but I think the key to the male mind is simply if a woman loves herself enough to be able to walk away from any man who ignores her, it makes men want her. Idk I'm not a psychologist, but my experience, when men see other men vying for a women it makes her more desirable, when a woman is also working on herself and investing in herself it makes her more valuable and desirable as a partner.
also I ask what a guy is up to, because I'm interested and care... not necessarily because I need to be entertained... but if I'm in relationship it might change to specifics or sexual innuendos... like "Hey sexy, wondering if your lips are free to tease my ears..." but then I'm not much of a text person. I like the sound of a deep voice even talking about ordinary things.

As a Psychology student, I can totally agree with this advice. Texting is still a form of conversation and it is very important to articulate your personality through words and emoticons to keep the semantics (to keep the tone/meaning).

If you only want to text, do it, if you only like calling then that's fine. Be yourself, you don't need to word things a different way or put a winkey face at the end of your sentence to get someone to like you. If you like someone, tell them, don't try and play games with them.
And also, asking someone what they're up to doesn't mean you're bored or boring, I love knowing what my friends/love interest is doing. It shows that you're genuinely interested in how they are and what they're up to.

Hey Matthew, don't get me wrong, I really enjoy watching your videos and I've done this before (telling my friends exactly what they should text, lol). I also believe you're helping a lot of people, men and women (because both need tips, not just women!), with these videos but I'd like to suggest something. Instead of saying "Go to this website and copy exactly what I'm telling you" because I highly believe there is NOT a formula, all relationships have a very complex dynamic. Instead I'd like to watch you saying "Hey, this is just an idea of what you CAN text, but don't copy paste it, just take some ideas".
I'm telling you this because I would hate to be a guy and having a girl texting me something that it's not her idea and it's like the old saying, "give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime". Texting is a good way of communication for cowards. Those who are afraid of expressing their feelings and emotions. People who don't want their intentions to be heard through their tone of voice, they barely call. Text messaging is all about a fashionable way of communication these days and one day I'll promise you it goes out of fashion! it is simply translated to: I'm asking how you are, but I don't give a damn about hearing your freaking* voice or learning about your emotional status!! Although it's good just to confirm stuff, but it can not the sheer way of communicating with people especially those who you love and/or care.

I get what you mean but I text people because I'm too shy to call unless they're really close friends. When I message people I tend to keep the conversations meaningful and I get into some deep talks especially after the 10pm mark. Just remember that some people are just too shy to call.

It's not, so I and other's are not. Here is my explanation: "Matthew, you're wrong about texting a lot always being bad. It's not. I have friends I've made in other countries, on online games that I've met face to face after years and it was like we had always known one another in person. No awkwardness, no weirdness, just two people who genuinely liked one another enough to form a strong friendship through words and words alone finally meeting. It can, and does happen. It's only awkward and weird if people are putting on fronts. I've also bonded with partners through text and gotten to known them significantly better and it's also not been weird, and in fact aided the getting to know one another process as we both had the time to genuinely think of replies that said exactly what we wanted and needed to say. Again, texting a lot is ONLY detrimental if it is being used to deceive and make someone more interesting or funny than they actually are. If you're being your true self, there is no problem. It's a beautiful and wonderful modern benefit to be able to communicate as much as we can, when were at breaks or down time at work, or when were out and about doing errands, etc. Growing up playing online games, especially back when voice chat wasn't as commonly available, and forming friends also teaches you how to read intention in text. YES, you actually can. You can discern a lot by the way a person types. People like to emote and give themselves away. Example: "Yeah!" vs "Yeah." vs "Yeah..." vs "....................... Yeah." It gets more intricate than that, but that's a basic example. It depends on the person/people, not the medium of communication."

The 9 texts link sent me to a box that asked me to subscribe. Once I subscribed I was redirected to another video called 8 things to say to a man, but never received the 9 texts info I signed up for and that were advertised.
I matched with a girl that was stunningly gorgeous. I was asking engaging questions, trying to be fun and playful. Her messages were so dry and it seemed like texting me was a chore for her. I gave an honest effort and fought the temptation of forcing a connection because she's so attractive.
I told her I think our expectations are too different when it comes to communication so it's not going to work and I hope she finds what she's looking for.
I don't know how people expect to connect investing so little on a serious dating app. You're trying to find someone to potentially spend the rest of your life with, why are you talking to them like you're ordering a pizza ?
