I just realized something and I think its VERY important. Ive seen many of this videos of tips on how to treat men and many women on the comments complaining about how these tips are all about not being ourselves. I think the whole point is to gain confidence, become emotionally independant and realize our self worth to be able to do all this naturally. Once you realize you can love and respect yourself more than anyone else ever will, you wont settle for mediocre relationships/interactions with others. It seems kinda obvious but it just hit me lol (Btw English isnt my first language so Im hoping I got to get my ideas across properly).
Problem is, if a guy is being an asshole why should we bother...if they are assholes, they are assholes..if they do it for test then they are probably sexists. Like, if they send a booty call type of message...should I actually beg them for a date? Please, why wouldn't I just go out with a desend guy that will ask me out for a date, instead? Then, if I use the booty call message, in their minds it is on me that the relationship didn't work out for more and that part pisses me off the most.

This works both ways, it essentially means the person is emotionally mature enough to know that a relationship takes time. The investment is in patience and understanding... as for the rest you just take it as it comes.
If it's in your essential nature to tell them to f&!$ off, that's probably the right thing to do. If it's a new acquaintance and you're not sure they're a waste of time yet, or if they're very young, they might turn out to be keepers.
Except that last one. Don't be polite to them: nobody calls you at 11PM just for sex and gets in, even if you're interested in just sex. If you're going to let yourself be used, don't. Just don't. If you're not going to use somebody, or let them use you, you don't need advice.

Theses are so so helpful! I never know how to respond in these situations and still maintain my self respect. Sometimes I feel like no response is too dramatic and it tells him he's gotten under my skin (which lets face it he has) but these scenarios happen so often that I want to believe that there is a way to change the narrative into something that works for me, especially if I do like him (but perhaps have not been clear enough about my standards). Besides, I feel like when I write all of them off as jerks and my only way to stand up for myself is to cut them off, I don't get the confidence practice I want for when I meet someone with real potential.
