Al is not only the founder of Almigos Golf but he's also the son of the original Mr.59 PGA Tour Professional Mr.Al Geiberger. His knowledge of the game is impressive and he's a club fitting that I look forward to every year.
In this fitting notice how I spend a lot of time ensuring the build is perfect before moving out to The Kingdom practice tee. This is a similar process that we would work to on tour with the likes of Dustin Johnson, Rory McIlroy and Collin Morikawa.
Take note of how I handle this fitting. I appreciate we're making content in addition to finding a great driver but with a player of this level you don't want to miss any of the details. By leaving no stone unturned your chances of success when you're on the fitting tee are significantly greater.
At The Kingdom we settle into the Micah Morris side to avoid balls leaving the landing zone as Al has serious pace and opens up at 176mph Ball Speed. We investigate some other settings and talk golf ball but the results are clear that we've found a solid option to take on his gamer.

Worked my 🍑 off for this to be a career, I wouldn't say it was something our careers advisor had in mind back in high school 🤣
I know it's cliche but honestly I just love golf and always wanted to be a part of it and when I couldn't do the whole playing deal well tour and either coaching or fitting was gonna be the next goal.
The fitting came first, that's the route I took. As for the social platform and what this has become that was all seeing a change in the market and exposing what I've done for the last two decades.
Again a cliche and not wanting to tell you what you already know but this was just year on year, work on work and then we ended up here.
Kinda cool and certainly enjoying the process..... for now 🤠
@@trottiegolf yeah, my advisor would have never mentioned this. I've built some of my own clubs, do my own regripping and make adjustments to my woods based on my current game. Technically, this would have been something I feel I would have been good at. Love these videos, they've re-peaked my interest in club fitting. I'm going to get back into building for myself. Trottie is one of the exceptions of those that gave up their playing dreams, made it through the club grind, still has the passion and is now financially compensated for his passion.

The best analogy I’ve heard about heavier vs lighter is a 10 speed bike. If it’s set on 1 you can pedal it faster but it doesn’t necessarily go faster than if you have the resistance set at 10. Love all your stuff Trottie

That “hover” tip in the beginning of this video is golden. I noticed I hit the ball longer with more control when I hover my driver off the ground. I’m new to golf so it’s all a learning curve but when I hover, I make better contact and it feels smooth

What he was alluding to is kinetic energy. It’s weight and speed combined hitting the ball instead of just speed.

I didn't no about lie angel on the driver and ive never had a fitter check it but changing my setting to get the driver sitting flater is a game changer in conference

Great video as always! Can you make a video for those of us at home to learn how to measure swing weight with minimal equipment. I’m a high swing speed competitive player but recently out of college so I do not have the money to go out to a club champion etc to have them play with that.
How much is a swing weight device? That could be a good one time solution? No real way to mock up the process you need to get on the scales and go through it

Trottie, I was wondering what is the fastest club speed you have fitted for?
Micah up there, done a small amount with Bryson but he wasn't what he is now. Alvaro Quiros was quick in his youth but never really got off tour so Rory, Dustin, Brooks, Rahm. All the ones you would think of & of course John Daly but he was a fraction past his quickest when I got to do stuff with him. Still Mega though

Totally different fits. Slower guys need speed and launch. Quicker the opposite.
The Triple diamonds and the LS are the best i’ve tried yet , good numbers for my 93/96 SS…. Searching for the best shaft

Are the different weights for the slider etc available? I was told by the online customer service TM rep I could only get two choices for the rear weight for the Qi LS head? If I remember correct, only had + and - 2 from stock...
Sorry I don't know. I know there are options on tour and I believe when you go through a club fitting they set you up with the correct weight for the build
God I would love having you make my ball speed go over 200 mph it’s already high 180s
As little low as you can handle and then swing for the fences with a mountain tee

- Wedges a fraction heavier
- I like slightly heavier drivers if the PLYR can handle it
- Consistency through the irons for sure
- Putter there are a few different opinions there so no a direct answer on that one
Its easier to drive a nail with a bigger hammer. Same with a golf ball. Efficiency is going to be better with a heavier (hammer) swing weight as long as you can reasonably handle it.

I have a Sim head with the + stamp on the back of the neck, are you able to confirm or deny what that means, if anything?
At one point the + meant Tour inspected but on the same note at another point in time it didn't mean anything. So I can only speculate.

How does an average low handicap guy get a fitting like this? If you’re somebody that actually has higher swing speed, shoots low single digits and could actually benefit from this, other than spending an insane amount of money assuming thousands of dollars to come out there is there a way to get fitted even close to the level? I would kill to go through this.
