In this video, I will give you the general process for writing task 1 and how to apply it in each type of chart or graph. First, you need to know the common structure of task 1 before you start.
Task 1 includes 20 minutes and asks you to describe the data which is shown in maps, flow diagrams, or image comparison charts. Therefore, to maximize your score, remember to follow the 3-step process below:
►Step 1: Analyze the general task and data (static data or movement data, timescales, and units?)
►Step 2: Group data, identify common trends and exceptions, and choose the main features
►Step 3: Writing essay (using paraphrased words and data collected from steps 1 and 2 to finish)

i want to correct you if yours math is good , so i want to tell the years you count in line graph are 101 at the place of 100 because you also count 1940 . as example 1940 (1) + 1941 to 2040 ( 100) = 101 years . please check and correct it

In overview we can't write date then why are you writing date in it?
Proportion and percentage can be used interchangeably? I know that they are quite different in fact. (Proportion=ratio, percentage=rate)

why it is 1990 (11:36) instead of 1980? or am i wrong?
I think that in the overview we shouldn't report data or numbers it's just an overview say the highest or the lowest without numbers... that is for the body part... this overview it's too long, it should be only 2 sentences, isn't it? And also is correct to write that Japan was the highest feature? It seems wrong. There wasn't an increase in the period from 1940 to 2000 I'm right? Can I have an answer about that?

Overall, the highest level for elderly people rates was in the US in 1940 than in Sweden and Japan. However, this reading has changed at the end of the period in 2020, in which Japan reached its peak, while Sweden and the US were less than Japan in order.

The line graphs compares the proportion of people alive aged 65 and above from 1940 to 2040 in Japan, Sweden and USA.
Overall, it is forecasted that in 2040 the population aged 65 and over would rise significantly in all of three countries (Japan, Sweden and USA). Japanese's older population started the least in 1940, however it will be finished the highest in 2040 by prediction. On the other hand, USA’s elderly proportion, compared to other countries, was the greatest in beginning and it forecasted that it will be ended up the least by the end of period.
The number of Japanese’s older population began at 5% in 1940 after decrease to less than 5% by 1960 and levelled up until about 1990. The trends have been gradually increased over tripled by 15% in 2030. Furthermore, it will be reached a peak in 2040 by more than 25%. The US data regarding proportion of population aged 65 and above started about 8% in 1940, it rose to 10% in 1960 and continued upwards trend until reached 15% in 1980. The figure slumped to about 14% in about 2015 and upsurge about 23% in 2040.
Sweden’ proportion of elders population began about 6% in 1940 after rocketed to about 14% in 1980. Although the trend slightly shrink to about 13 before the 20th century, it went up to 20% in about 2015. The trend forecasted will be dropped to less than 20% in 2025 and will be uplifted to about 26% by the end of period.

The line graph gives information about percentage of the population aged 65 and over in Japan, Sweden and USA in 1940 and prediction in 2040.
Overall, Japan, Sweden and Usa generally experience upward trend over the period. Although USA had the least aged people in the beginning, it will be surpassed the other two nations at the end of 2040.
In 1940, it is clear that people who are 65 and over in Japan were one-twentieth where the least aged people lived compared to other countries. Around 2030’s, Japan is predicted to have 10% aged people over the population and in the same year elderly people population is rocketed up to slightly higher than a quarter in 2040.
On the other hand, Sweden began with just over 5%. Sweden’s old people population has some fluctuations however at the end, it will have about quarter percent in 2040.
Moreover, even though USA had the most aged people in 1940 with approximately slightly lower than 10%, in 2040, it is predicted aged people who live in USA will be about 23%.

This response will not get more than 6.5. There are numeric mistakes; namely, 1980, not 1990, so it the 15%, not 17%; repetition of the words; for instance, elderly, and wording not up to the mark of band 9; for example, 100 years could be replaced with a century. Moreover, there is missing information that is needed to be explained such as, the dichotomy between years is 20 years. No offense. Elderly can be replaced with senior/older citizens/inhabitants/residents/adults, mature, retirees, etc.

Is it ok to have the following structure?
1. Introduction.
2. Main feature 1(trend+details)
3. Main feature 2(trend+details)
4. Overview/conclusion(summarising the trends)
This is the structure my teacher told me, but all internet sources provide another structure. What is your opinion?
