Q: The diagnostic test says my HDD is not installed or to check cables?
A: If the diagnostic scan shows your HDD to not be installed or it cant see it, that means your HDD may be loose or bad. Try 'Reseating' the HDD first as seen here in this video. Try the diagnostic test again. If it fails to change the scan, I would then replace the HDD and install an Operating System to the new one. You can see how to do that here;

Q: I cant change the Legacy / UEFI options.
A: If you cannot change the Legacy vs. UEFI settings, move on and try the rest of the steps in the video. Were you able to run the diagnostic scan? What was the result?

im working on a friends Lenovo 300S-08IHH Desktop - Type 90F1. I got into the bios with the F1 key it was set with the CSM diabled making UEFI the current choice, I switched the CMS to enable, which chose auto boot mode with Legacy first, and, on reboot I got the lenove logo then it stopped at there black screen with no 1962 error and went no further, if I switch it back to UEFI it give me the Error 1962: No operating system found.... nag, but not with legacy however still black screen. I did changed the battery as well to a new one. I reset the date and time and sill a black screen. any thoughts om a next step?

i tried installing linux on my laptop but after it failed my hard drive is not beeing detected by the BIOS or Operating system(Usb Booted)
any fix ? I can only boot from a usb drive. Internal hdd is never recognized and I can't change any bios settings

I have Lenovo ideapad 320-151KB .i was using linux mint on it and i tried to install windows 10 through my usb but during hard disk partion i cleaned my partion 1 by command prompt, i restarted the device to go back to the hardisk partion menu but now its showing INTEL UNDI......EXITING PXE ROM.bow there no any operating sysytem on it and and tried between legacy or UEFI and now i cant fix it
I have a Lenovo Yoga C940 14". Just to let folks know, that particular model has a heating issue.
My problem with the hard drive not being recognized was from overheating, the CPU and motherboard would range from 80C/176F to 95C/203F, while my SSD would hit 65C/149F before I get the Blue Screen with the various error codes. I would run SFC and DISM with no error messages, and run the Chkdsk /f /r command.
I took off the rear cover and found that my thermal assembly was/is working fine. Once the computer cooled, the hard drive was recognized again and windows loaded successfully without errors. In order to use it without interruptions, I just had to elevate the rear of the computer where the vents are on the bottom cover.
I just purchased a cooling pad that I will be using from now on.

My brother's ThinkPad t430s wont take his hard disk in the main bay cause it cannot fit in , so he put it in the ultra bay but his pc cant detect it , does it mean bootiñg only works with the HDD in the main port and not in the ultrabay?

Hey! Thanks for the great laptop troubleshoot videos. BUT my dam issue on my end is that I keep getting the 2103 error M.2 error...I was able to get Windows 10 to boot off a USB stick and deleted all partitions in the sdd. Started the Windows 10 process and it ended up failing towards the end..What would be this issue?

@PC_Monkey no overheating,no spills that i know of and the laptop(X1 Carbon 3rd gen)came with no M.2 ssd. So i bought one off ebay and it gives me the 2103 Error..but what’s funny is I booted Windows 10 installer off a usb stick and from there it recognized the ssd i’m assuming because i was able to start the process..but failed in the end..I never got to hear Cortana’s annoying voice lol

Lenovo 82lx0050us. Hard Drive not found. I've taken it to two repair facilities, they both state the hard drive is actually MISSING from the computer. It has never been opened that we can tell. The computer sits at the BOIS message, then gives no option to locate any boot options. It worked one night, the next morning it didn't I don't know what to do!
Do you do repairs? I have a hard drive that won’t turn on and I’m terrified of taking it somewhere that will tell me they can’t fix it.
I do local repairs only. Sry. What brand and model computer do you have and whats the issue with it?

It depends what is wrong. If your HDD has gone bad then no, most likely the DATA is gone too. If the issue is with anything else then yes, your DATA is most likely safe
So I have a Lenovo ThinkPad t440s, and when doing a startup it shows just underscore on the top left corner. I have runner diagnostics and it's said that Smart short self test is Not Applicable, drive self test is not Applicable, Targeted read test Passed.
I done all that you showed on the vid, and it didn't help.
Any ideas?

My new ssd is recognized in BIOS but not recognized when trying to use a windows 11 boot drive. When I turn the device on I get a no boot drive recognized message. I have disabled secure boot. My system date and time is correct. My drive is seated properly. I don’t have the option to go to legacy in bios. I also can’t restore/ use recovery drive.
When I take out the new ssd and put back in the old one, my computer runs normally. I’m so confused…
I would try replacing the HDD at this point and see if I could install to the new one
When I try to install from a USB stick it states that there are no drivers. What do I do?
Was your Lenovo computer working well before this attempted install? If not, what was happening? Also, did you purchase the Install Media USB or create it yourself?
Thanks for the tips, when doing the diagnostic test the storage test is grayed out so I cant check it. Does this mean my hard drive is dead?

Hello, I have a question.
I just bought a laptop legion 5 pro 16IAH7H and I can't instal any windows on it [I tried W10 and W11] from USB. It gave me this error 0xc0e90002. After my brother was looking into bios, he told me that the SSD is not shown there so it is a problem of hardware and I have to send the laptop to service.
Can be this aspect ? I don't want to open the laptop cause is new and I don't want to lose my money if it's rlly broken.

If you cant install and if you cant see the SSD in BIOS, can you try reseating the drive as seen here? Can you run the diagnostic test as seen here?
Hi, I’ve watched your videos on how to fix the reboot of no device found. However, after changing the information it is now showing me a screen of: REALTEK PCIe GBE family controller series. PXE-E61: media test failure, check cable. PXE-M0F : exiting PXE ROM. NO BOOT DEVICE FOUND. Press any key to reboot machine. (Each time I press a key it sends back to the same page having that information again) what can I do?!
Does your Lenovo have diagnostic testing ability as this one? If so, were you able to run the test?
I have dual booted windows and Linux, both of them crash after a long sleep. I have to force restart from there. Sometimes on restart instead of grub, Bois opens and shows hard disk not installed. And after a couple of force restarts, it boot normally. What should I do?
1. Long sleeps can mess some OS's up a bit. I would avoid them. Use sleep for short times. Power down for long times of non-use. Also, try to make sure the OS is fully updated as seen here: th-cam.com/video/kX8bB725Ljw/w-d-xo.html

On my Lenovo Flex 15 the legacy bios is greyed out. I do not have the option to select anything but uefi

@@PC_Monkey refurbished straight from Best Buy, gonna follow up with their customer service but I kinda want to be reasonably helpful on potential issues, my initial thought is it’s possible they didn’t attach the hard drive right, or there simply isn’t one.

1. Not all Lenovos have a NOVA button. Yours may not. Are you able to try the different function keys and access BIOS? What are you able to see on the screen when you try to start the computer?

@PC Monkey well I didn't use the laptop for 3 days but nothing happened either, I didn't do any updates or download anything. And it just says PVE exe some numbers and stuff and boot failed
