      Dehumanizing them is an easy way to distance yourself from atrocities like this. It's much more important to see them as people, just like you and me, who have been led astray at some point. Saying that everyone who beheads someone in the name of a religion is either insane or "not human" demeans the main talking point of extremism and how it can be fought.
      Just like looking back at the holocaust, seeing the perpetrators as normal people will mean we can learn from their mistakes and not repeat history by falling in the trap of authority and deindividuation.
      Here's a great article about deindividuation youarenotsosmart.com/2011/02/10/deindividuation/

      ultimately they will have to make their own choice, they have the opportunity to live like they were before the English arrived pre 20th century and failed miserably or they can use the modern weaponry to wipe eachother out, or they can rise out of their medieval mentality and walk into the modern age, where compassionate laws reign, where man shouldnt have to even ponder what the brutality of such an attack is like, unfortunately i dont think you can EASILY modernize a backwards society like that, how do you fast word a culture of group of peoples or religion a thousand years forward, how do you usher a group of people who believe that its ok to stone a woman to death for having sexual acts with another man but that its right to walk into a school and implode yourself in the midst of learning children, i dont think its possible so leave em alone or leave them in stone.

      I have been washed by the blood of the lamb, so i can sin and go to heaven.
      The true God is temporarily allowing you to breathe, and giving you time to repent. But God will not be mocked. If you were really washed, and staying washed in the blood of the lamb, you would be washing in His Word. Read Romans 1:24-32 if you can abide the truth. If you died today you would be living in eternal damnation. God is really good and He will accept you if you repent. But by mocking Him, you literally harden your own heart against Him. You invite demonic activity into your mind and body, and indeed you already have. If you want to go to hell, God will accept your stupid decision. But please don't mock my Jesus.

      Democracy SOS Actually, creating the term "race", and integrating it into a social structure, does give cause to racism, if it's just a biological term, nobody will be killing over it, but once people start getting attached to it, and have it enforced as an identity, then yeah, it kind of plays a part. It's not always this thing's or that thing's fault, sometimes it is a shared fault. The grey.
      Ultimately people are the cause, but the tools can also be weakened, if not removed.

      Tribal revenge masked as religious insurgency. The fact they come from tribal regions is enough for me to suspect this is revenge killing for their families. Tribes take things literally, if you kill someone's mother they won't come after you they will instead kill YOUR mother.

    • @robto
      @robto 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      This was an act of revenge killing, because, according to the Pakistani Taliban spokesmen, Pakistani military operations had killed some children in Taliban held-areas, so the Taliban targeted a military school to avenge those deaths. Not everything the Taliban does is based on their religion, Tribal practices (like vendettas), is also part of how the Taliban operate.

    I mean, that is... one of the most cruel atrocities I've ever witnessed. Why would islamists commit such a deed? I mean, their victims were children. How can such killings "harmonise" with extremistic islamic beliefs in today's world? Even in medieval times people wouldn't even think about mass-slaughtering CHILDREN. This is a disgrace to the Islam... Why did such a mass-killing even come up to their minds? What is their ultimate objective, to establish a caliphate and thus need to show ?strength? and total commitment? Humans don't behave like that.

    I think the NRA should weigh in on this subject. Children being shot by machine guns while being confined by walls, with guns banned, is going to always end up with a higher death toll than a single bomb, with localized effects. ISIS today, marches to destroy the Said Royal family, to finally get their revenge killing for when the first King Said invited all the Wahhabist warriors into an enclosed room, and used a new device, called ignorant soldiers that follow orders for money, with automatic machine guns, something that can kill any man with a sword at a standoff distance. So after a Tribal Camel-Jockey with less than 100 members paired up with an ambitious British advisor, this British man, a convert to Wahhabism and an Arabist, decided to apply his typical Anglophile methods to achieve creating a Recognized Nation, out of wandering Tribes in tents, he advised this first Mr. Sa'ud to first hire a man named all Wahhab and his band of mercenaries, to conquer, and unite the various Tribes and create a Nation that did not exist. In 1927. A Kingdom. In1927. If this sounds ridiculous to arbitrarily claim all of a countries assets, based on birthright alone? It should, because Kingdoms are just another form of Despotism. And when the new "King", literally machine-gunned down the very men who did all the fighting for him afterwards? Instead of rewarding them? The fuse was lit in 1927 that ensured the eventual blood-debt will be paid. Wahhabi law is simple, equally applied, and effective. It operates off of the oldest written laws on the planet, the code of Hammurabi. If you are an American, and you complain because you call 911 and it takes 20 minutes for the police arrive, how do you propose to provide a system of justice when you have no phone, or address to respond too. Obviously, you yourself can only save yourself from any situation of danger, in that social dynamic. A tooth for a tooth, an eye for an eye, murder is penalized with execution on the spot, by any man with a sword. Pretty effective deterrent against crimes, both petty and severe. If it seems primitive and archaic, it is. It is also currently the actual laws of Saudi Arabia. So while Obama dismantles every clandestine objective of the CIA that they have ever perpetrated, in one week, I would anticipate the MI-6 created Royal Sa'us "Nation" to be experiencing the end of it's entirely fake existence. Nobody should rule anybody, based on birthright. This applies to Capitalism as well. If wealth by birthright can instal one family in control of America for 60 years of rule, then our Democracy becomes a transparent sham, one as pathetically Despotic as a Kingdom, with the added insult of pretending that we have a choice of who that Despot is. If in 2016 we have another Bush/Clinton ticket for Presidential choices, this is not a "Dynastic Democracy", as this very real possibility of Jeb vs Hillary thing appears on the horizon. Dynastic makes it sound elegant, like a television show. This is Despotism. An assumption of rule by birthright, with all dissenters punished economically, or physically put in jail. 240,000 Americans are in jail. These citizens can't vote, or write the laws that keep them imprisoned. Statistically speaking, out of even just our prison population, there has to be a more qualified person to elect for President that a Bush or a Clinton. Seeing as how they are all criminals, excluding the 240,000 Citizens in prison from being elected as President, would make it quite logical to assume that some of those Americans in prison are no more than Political Prisoners. These schoolchildren were at a police officers private school for their children. Factually speaking, these same officers killed many women and children of Pakistani origin, a short while ago. The gunmen asked each child what their father did for a living. If the answer was police officer, they were killed, without hesitation, to settle a blood-debt. If you are horrified and offended by this mass-murder, you should be. If you realized that some blood debts have been settled 400 years after a child's murder, then maybe America should hold off on murdering the children of a society that has a rule of law that will ultimately end in the blood debt against America also being settled. Even if it takes 400 years to do it. I am an American. It took me about 15 minutes of research to discover these facts. I am no genious, so if my entire nations military apparatus does not know this, this would be impossible to fathom. Maybe our American Government does not care about an American child 400 years from now. I do.
