I was in 10th grade when it happened. I'm in India and when I saw the news I had started crying. For a few weeks I used to be scared thinking that what would happen if something like that happened here. I can't imagine going through that. More power to him. RIP the innocent souls that died.

There are so many points to this that deserve highlighting, But the thing that stuck out to me. This is a 12 year old boy, whos currently going through the worst experience imaginable, seeing his friends die in front of him. But still manages to think clearly, focus on his breathing, even to the point of knowing if he passes out people will assume he is dead and might no help. Its incredible. Waleed you are truly an inspiration, and i don't say that often.

So senseless, so evil. How could these people who join the taliban and think that brutally murdering so many innocent children is anything but pure evil? I can’t understand it. What is the purpose.
What a brave and courageous man he is for sharing his story. And yet after enduring all of this he still radiates so much light and refuses to be swallowed up by anger and hatred. Love always wins.

How do you justify such cruelties to yourself and your god(whoever that might be)?
I sometimes feel such shame for the human race. We can be so unbelievable cruel and brutal it is beyond words!
My thought goes out to this outstanding chap! Stay strong!

Not many of these make me emotional, but when he was describing his friends at the end it definitely made me tear up. No one deserves to go through such hell.
