I think I had a price sheet vid out around the time you started, But you probably didn't know about me lol. But i noticed the same thing. It was hard to find stuff. Luckily I knew of the ones the franchises use, so I referred to that... Super agree about too large is worse because of pricing. Something that College Hunks does, is they keep the pricing the same when they send out their "small move" box trucks instead of junk trucks. But in the paperwork exclusion, it states that the box trucks hold 2 loads, so if they're paying for a full load, only half the truck would be full. So that's what I tell people to do if they end up with a box truck that's 2x the size of a normal junk truck. Just tell the client, that their truck holds 2 loads technically, so all the increments and volume and pricing is the same, but it'll only fill half. If they argue, you can do the math in front of them lol 16' box truck with 8' width and 8' height = 1024 cuft Franchise Junk Truck= 450-480 cuft You're just simply able to handle a larger job vs taking trips. Which you could also work into your pitch with larger jobs. Tell the customer instead of having to make 2 trips where some would charge more, we stay the same because we're already here and just able to handle more.
My only hurdle is finding a truck or trailer. I have 10k but that is peanuts. Im killing myself working hard for others. College educated with tenacity in business. Going to finish my site and llc here in canada.
I've seen a few at my local gas stations and I measured them once. The one's in my area are 10 L x 6.25 W x 5 H. They advertise 400 cuft, those dimensions are closer to 325 lol. I was so annoyed when I finally did that

Hi Andrew , thank you . I’ve noticed that 1-800 has two different sized trucks here . I only noticed this because they had 2 trucks parked side by side in a Walmart parking lot one day . One was narrower and much shorter than the other one . I was going to measure them like Chris did lol . But there was a lady in one of the passenger seats . Crapola!
Do you ever charge more than $25 for disassembly (hot tub, playground equipment, etc.)? How do you handle those requests? Awesome info by the way! Always fun to watch!

Yeah, I would say that it’s standard assembly for small items, and bigger items I would charge double to even quadruple
Not a bad idea, you can have different levels of disassembly, standard size, and then other levels like : medium, large or easy/difficult
But at that point you just charge extra labor
