This is probably the most challenging part in business, pricing, at least for me it is. Some customers have no problem with a certain price, and actually will give you a tip on top because they recognize that you are well worth it, while another will find the same price astronomical. Thanks
That's because its junk removal. I've been saying this since Day 1. Nobody wants to pay for stuff they don't have value in anymore.... especially if the removal cost is more than the purchase price lol. From an outsiders perspective, it makes sense. But there's a reason why this industry exists. Just remember what you said "Some customers have no problem with a certain price, and actually will give you a tip on top because they recognize that you are well worth it". Not everyone is your customer :)
I feel like this video is directed at me. The beginning of the summer I was taking cheaper jobs because I wanted to build up good reviews and have a bunch of customers but I realize now it hurt me in the long run. I’ve been managing my time and bids so much better now thanks to your advice from a few months ago.
I absolutely love this channel and all the exceptional content you provide! I plan to start my own business in the next few months and your videos are priceless. Thank you so very much…
We've been getting a lot of cheap customers lately. Also maybe it's to heat something But we don't let them low ball us We always tell them we do good work, not cheap work.
I know you live in California and I live in Florida and they pay you to recycle those appliances here and California charges for freon handling but if I were you, Ill hire someone just to remove the copper, wires, alluminum and shreaded metal and load a semi trailer and sell it in other States that pay you for recycling. You just paid them to pick up their metal and bring it to them using your gas and then they will separate the metals and sell it to China and that's your green deal right there! money in their pockets.
Hi Jojo, i was wondering if customers have ever questioned you about being strong enough to help Matt with the bigger items, when it was just the two of you? my boyfriend is starting a junk removal biz and i dont want to cause him to lose any jobs, because a customer might underestimate me as a woman in this type of business. It doesnt look like it happens to you, maybe its my own concern.
People love the fact that we are a couple doing this, it’s a good selling point. They are almost always surprised that we can do it ourselves. They often thing I can’t lift things, we are more capable than given credit for.
I had my son helping me during the summer and at first i was a bit skeptical because i didn't want people to think i was using him for free labor (which i was... lol jk) but EVERYONE thought it was cool that i had him learning to work and to learn the value of a dollar plus every tipped him too and nobody ever questioned it. You are helping them out not the other way around. Nobody's ever gonna question you
Great video.. do you guys check behind the drawers, sometimes they have secret compartments or envelopes taped on the back of the drawers or on the cabinet it self, my nephew found 4K inside an envelope that was taped on the back of the third drawer, was a tall 5 drawer dresser, the envelope was taped in the back of the third, and wedding rings, tons of those.
My mom used to hide extra cash under a loose piece of carpeting 😂 . She was a tricky little one . My aunt had a stair that could be lifted up by its hidden hinges . Genius !
Dont low-ball yourself to satisfy cheap customers but what can I do when I am not getting enough leads and when I do not only will they low-ball but even put your price so down and treat you like an illegal immigrant? What do I do then?? And not having enough leads and so just taking what I can get.......
I notice in a lot of your videos the customers have piled up the loads in advance. Do you offer a discount for that? It just seems that a lot of the jobs you have on video are like that and it makes it so much easier to load. Do you offer an "at the curb" discount to make this happen?
Lol, I know of no folks here who have camels . What a shame, unless it’s our zoo . And I don’t want to think about what they would ask me to haul out of there 😳😳😳 I mentioned before about the ones who do junk removal only as a side hustle to make extra money . They will never do it full time . They don’t have the added expenses like you guys do . Some full timers advertise as cheaper than others . But they aren’t really cheaper, a ploy that attracts would be clients . The 1-800 guys never are cheap . Ever. So, it appears that the side hustlers are the ones that will do the damage to the hauling business here . I don’t know how long it’s been like this . They always insist on cash . So it’s part of the underground economy . If anything the govt will eventually wisen up to this . When I need to hire temporary helpers , they will get paid by a business cheque . I don’t want the Canada Revenue Agency breathing down my neck . Thank you JoJo and Matt for another great video , much appreciated !
😂🤣😂the guys are in their Tesla’s, don’t want to get their hands dirty! 😂😂 had me rolling!
