Any Lamenter would tell you that this… this is a worse fate then death. I’m sure most would rather die an ignoble death then succumb to either the thirst or the rage. Lot of blood angels and their successors see such unhinged brutality and loss of nobility as an ultimate failure. Tho not in their brothers. If their brothers succumb, they lament… if they themselves do, then they feel shame. This is especially true for the Lamenters. Even when they overcome impossible odds and survive… it’s still sad.

I wonder how hard it is for a son of the great angel to willingly give in to the rage. I don’t know if they have talked about it in a book yet but of all the books I have read they have never talked about succumbing to the rage willingly. They always talk about how it sneaks up on you and takes over in the end. It’s almost like he is upset from the moment he enters the room that he is about to become a monster on purpose with his own free will.
You hit the nail on the head. His brothers are dead. There were no other prisoners on the ship... they're all traitors, mutants, and monsters. He can either die with dignity, or go out burning bright. Once he's confirmed that none of his companions live, and there's no further hope of rescue, all that's left is to go down slaying. And though it wasn't Kai's intent, the cards confirm that course of action for him!
@@theliterarymercenary1699Yea, the reverse Abaddon card felt like a subtle warning, or an attempt to avoid troggering the onslaught of the Black Rage. Too bad the chaos marine didn't notice, though i doubt he woyld uave.

This is easily the best WarHammer 40k audio experience ever. The story itself is fascinating, you're narration is perfect, and the sound effects and music just bring me even deeper in. Keep up this amazing work man!
God damn. These narrations are the best on TH-cam
This story would make such a great little suspense horror video. Excellent rendering as ever mister Vox.
You're Opus was “Servator” to me. I think about that story and the way it was narrated quite often. It really sums up 40k.
This is sneaking up on that and I can't give more praise. Well done to you and the team…
Thank you kind souls :)
P.S I just noticed how many subs you have got in such a short amount of time. You must be very proud ❤️
The only bad thing about vox in the Void is I have to wait till I have a good painting session to give the story the attention it deserves
I read it few days ago and wondered glad you voiced it
oh my.. Lamenters are my eternal love and this got me tickling and cackling in all kind of heretic ways 😅
Thank you!!
Lamentors are so cool and i think underrated in 40k. But you know what else is... The glorious tomb! Please bring it back Vox. I loved your work on it, it was beautiful. I gotta hear it again.
I would not be surprised if everything you work on here gets some kind of official recognition from GW. We all make stories that add to the universe of 40k, this is a prime example of the beauty that fills our imaginations as we read the book, clip plastic, paint a world into reality, roll the dice of fate. Love your work.
That description of the black rage taking over and effecting Ashton, and the eating of the flesh for information.
I've been following you for a while now and I want to say I've gotten so many of my friends into Warhammer because of your videos alone. You're hands down my favorite channel on TH-cam and I look forward to each video you put out. Thank you
Thankyou my brother. Means a lot to hear about all of your support. Stay cool!
Amazing coincidence that this got posted while I'm assembling some Lamenter Terminators. Cheers Vox!
"These tears are not for me..." That line sent shivers through my soul.
Indeed......
I had a manic grin on my face when I wrote that line. Called people over to look at it. Hearing them voiced? Yeah... much shivers.
Thankyou for another great video, I love your delivery of these immersive stories!
Thankyou so much 🙏
@@AVoxintheVoidyou’re welcome! I have no idea what happened to my original comment because I was sure I wrote more than one word 😅 anyway, many thanks again
Black rage? Red Thirst? More like cheat codes.
Thanks for always making such great content and for helping me out in tough times at a few different times in my life
Gotta love how the lamentors finally stop getting shafted here.
STUNNING!!! Superlatives completely fail here; each time I think the last performance can't be topped, A Voice in the Vox manages to exceed it! Absolutely wonderful story, magnificently performed.⚔🔥🙌
Another stellar piece, Vox!
Honestly thought we were gonna get another Night lord-esque protag in Kai. My eyes literally widened as i realized when i realized what was happening to Aston. Love the reversal of roles too! Chaos could never match the horror of a( $poiler for anyone about to listen)
Edit: Than ending, absolutely amazing. These pieces always, ALWAYS leave me speechless.
@@Tacoguy1000 My head canon is that if he takes the ship, he will steer toward wherever Abaddon is... He does, after all, look so very much like Horus.
@@theliterarymercenary1699 Yea, that's assuming it doesn't finishes its decay into that warp storm it is caught up in. Otherwise, I definitely see him try it. Don't ask him how he knows where he is, though.
@@Tacoguy1000 The Curse of Sanguinis works in mysterious ways! (And they are unusually plot convenient)
Wow, what an incredible video. I can only imagine the amount of work that went into this. TH-cam and all of us watching are truly blessed to have such amazing content. Keep it up my friend
Cheers Stuart! They are quite time consuming that's for sure! Hopefully at some point I might branch out and have other narrators on the channel. Might free me up a little 😎
@@AVoxintheVoidI look forward to it!
Always a joy when vox uploads
Thanks!
No, thankyou for the super thanks my friend!!
goddamn your way to paint athmosphere is top notch. amazing work
One of my favorite chapters crying about what he's about to do to them. I love it.
I remember when this was on a poll a long while back. I have been anticipating it for so long, and you did not disappoint. Another amazing piece of work, Vox!!!
Amazing work! Love the Lamenters getting some extra attention. Also, kudos to the author for both a well-written story as well as the inclusion of some marine biology!
My thanks! It's always fun grabbing some of the more obscure ingredients, stirring them in, and seeing what comes out!
Man I sure do hope this interaction made it back to abby and the rest of the black legion. Because if they did, they might think twice about wiping out all of humanity. Might even turn back to loyalists. Because if this is what ONE lamenter can do when there's nothing else to cherish, an entire CHAPTER of these monsters could probably end the chaos gods themselves
Bro you made one of Warhammer s goodest boys scary AF
You blogg my mind. I play these on speakers without shame. Kts so immersive and hardcore i cant give a heck playing it walking home!
