Love this one! I live in Illinois and fished it my entire life. Great largemouth bass/smallmouth bass state! Also a great state to go kayak fishing! Your videos are one of the reasons I started kayak fishing!

Nice video man. I'm a local chicagoan, usually bike over to the harbors with my fly rod and pull out some nice bass all summer long. It's winter now and it's just no fun to be out in those cold lake shore winds, but this was a good video to cure some of the cabin fever. Hope you make it back to chi town again someday!

The Pennsylvania Turnpike can be one scary road! Rock wall 6 inches on one side and a pinned in by 18 wheelers doing 80 on the other. Glad you weren’t in that accident!
Montrose Harbor! Good spot in September and March for Salmon. I've seen monsters come out that harbor.
During a normal year you can get out into the docks. The tackle store sells a pass that allows you to access them. But since Covid they closed them off to fisherman
You can also buy passes from the city, theyre like $6

Another interesting video, as usual. Those trout were EXCEPTIONAL, but I've seen you catch smaller snook that fought harder. I expected to see the trout make a run or two against the drag, but they didn't run at all. Maybe it was because the water temp. was near freezing? Thanks for publishing this video. I prefer to fish without a boat whenever possible, and I appreciate all of your boatless and kayak fishing videos.

35-45 degrees was the high and I was actually excited because that’s kinda on the warmer side of what it can be in the winter haha.

If you’re still looking for spots in Chicago, the south side slips have had some perch, the river walk downtown has some crappie and there are Lake trout to be caught at the small part of navy pier that’s still fishable

Nice browns ..I stay out of Chicago now at least by car or on foot..I bought a 21 foot arima sea chaser and I put in at Hammond marina and drive to Chicago and fish out of boat it is wayyyy better.....

Lots of people fish near the harbors but when boats are in the slips the harbors restrict fishing near the boats. It’s hard to fish the river from the banks because there’s little legal shoreline access

I use the Vudu Shrimp in the great lakes with very good results, try them, there are fresh water shrimp in the great lakes so you should do well too...
