If the s was making and "sssss" sound then "a" would be correct but since the s is part of an abbreviation (STI-Subaru Tecnica International) then the beginning of the s makes an "e" sound (and e is a vowel) therefore "an" would be correct.
all AWD cars will have 3 differentials, otherwise it wouldn't be road worthy.... Subaru's tend to have limited slip which is maybe what you mean. Allowing all wheel power during tire slippage.
