Iconic and legendary rally car, arguably one of the best rally cars ever conceived. The IMPREZA driven by the likes of Colin Mcrae, Carlos Sainz, Richard Burns , and the one and only Ari Vatanen is so memorable. Looks like a video from the early days of Rally Legend. Hopefully one day crowds will flock the special stages once again but as of now the subie rumbles on through the silence :')
A couple months back, I got lucky and got the 1998 Subaru Impreza gc8 after my Toyota Celica blew up (3rd cylinder). Some dude sold it to me on OfferUp and I got the car for about $1,200. I'm barely getting into upgrading the car, but I hope to have my Impreza just like the rally version or the version 6 STI one day. 🤞🙂🤞
Gran secondo posto assoluto dell'equipaggio Boroli-Imerito, subito dietro a Ken Block e davanti al mitico Renato Travaglia. Una Impreza assolutamente al top, auto stupenda e tanto incisiva.
It's so sad and frustrating. Would love Subie to return to the WRC. But the sanctioning body basically wrote them out of competition with the new rules. At least in group A. Now all they can do is the Gymkana events. But WRC was much more fun to watch.
@@purpleneons The best WRC was either about mindblowing prototypes that wanted to kill you midstage and hollywood-tier drivers, or cars that resembled those you could buy at a dealership. Today's WRC is neither. I'd rather watch Russian RDS series now.

Group A and WRC Subaru engines never used any headgaskets... They used gas rings instead. And headgaskets are not an issue on roadgoing Subarus either, that is just a bullshit roumor coming from the mid 90s and the 2.5l n/a engine...
@@prodrive7105 It proves true when you start pumping high levels of boost into them, between 2.5 to 3 bar. Didn't know they o-ringed the block in WRC. Most guys racing Subarus in the states don't o-ring anything and blow gaskets frequently.
@@Sephiroth5200 2.5-3 bar is not normal levels of boost... Ofcorse you dont get a reliable engine then. The american sti engines (and europe from 2006) also uses the EJ257 block which is semi closed deck, and thin cylinder walls. They are not strong enough for big power, not to mention the very weak oem pistons that often crack. All Group A and WRC engines used 2 litre fully closed deck blocks, with gas rings/wills rings for the cylinders and o-rings for the water. Prodrive built the engines from the end of 1991 and all engines to 2008 was like that. The later ones also had pressure sensors in the gas ring to detect any head lift so the ecu could react to it.

The Legacy's and early Impreza's are definitely the best sounding Subaru's. Far more raw and rumbly.

Not happening unless they make a smaller car with 1.6 liter which would compete with parent company Toyota Yaris.
