For non-Canadian people, Halifax is way easier to get permanent residency than other provinces. The thing is they leave the city and move to bigger cities(Toronto or Vancouver.. etc) right after they get their PR or citizenship.
Would love some info and help with this if anyone is able to have a chat with me? I live in the UK and want to move to Canada. Just don’t know where to start!
I first moved to Halifax in 1984 to attend St. Mary's University in the south end. Since then I've traveled the world and lived abroad for over a decade. Of all the great cities I've visited and lived in, Halifax is my absolute favourite....what a city! Since the eighties Halifax has transformed into a truly world-class city. Loads of fine dining, night-clubs, universities, beaches, entertainment....and much more. It has a big city feel because of the massive suburbs and concentration of business, gov't and industry in this capital. It's educated, sophisticated, dynamic and culturally-evolved. This city can be too exciting if you're young and a party-person...It's laid-out for a GOOD-TIME...with the concentration of bars, restaurants and entertainment facilities. A hidden cultural mecca.
I've learned so much. Thank you so so much. I'm moving to Halifax in November and this video just got Me super super excited!!! I'll go see your other videos on Halifax & Nova Scotia. I can't wait!!! 😁💃💖
Wow 🤩 five hours from the UK 🇬🇧 and the Caribbean. I’m looking forward to moving to Halifax as a migration option and videos like this are very helpful, Halifax looks like an awesome city! Regards from Mexico City, Mexico 🇲🇽. Saludos desde la Ciudad de México, México 🇲🇽

I grew up there in Halifax. I had an amazing childhood playing in the ocean. But ive traded that for the Mexican Caribbean, turquoise warm stunning waters. Nice to revisit my home ❤
Ooh I've never been the first to comment before. What a city!!!! being so close to the ocean is beautiful, and it's all so clean looking. It's certainly on my to visit list thanks to all your videos. Hope you are both doing well.
I live in Halifax and I am not sure what to think. I don't like to travel often. Living near the ocean there is not a great idea maybe in summer only as the weather is no good at all. It's the middle of March and it's cold and the winters are often long several years I remember that is typical you get bad weather until May or June it's like Newfoundland though a bit n average warmer. Still both are variable and the swings in the weather at this time are nuts -spring one day freezing winter another snow then back to spring. Still if you want to do stuff indoors it's all right. In many places with good weather you can't go to the beaches because if sharks and jellyfish so it would not really be better so the weather is not that important in the long run. You will not be out often near that ocean I can guarantee you that one. Look elsewhere. Yet if going to sit around pubs is what you want to do there are a few. The service is not that great over recent years though. Also there are hiking trails although you rarely go on them and they are seasonal and many though not all were not that much by the way. The Bedford and Sydney waterfronts are nice and a few beaches on nice days as well. You can visit them on a cold day although don't plan to be out very long that's all and visit in warmer half of year.
Hi Trevor and Anna, last year we stayed at Liscombe Lodge, lots of activities there. Make sure you take the trail leading to the falls and the hanging bridge.
I've travelled around our province, but you are showing me some lovely spots I've never visited. So much more to see! Glad you are enjoying seeing the 'silver lining' in our pandemic!
Not sure what we were expecting but this wasn't what we imagined Halifax looking like 🤷♀️🤷♂️ thanks for showing us around guys! We would really love to visit Canada someday 😁
Hey, I live in Cape Breton Highlands @ the Cabot Trail, I love my small acreage and encourage visitors from away, but I also worry that folks that come here will try to change our island way of life. Many of our families have been here many generations and would love to see more growth, I pray the people who come here love it as much as we do and will prosper. Failte (welcome)
Hi Faith. We're really curious what you mean by that exactly. How would folks moving to CB change your island way of life? Most people that are moving there seem to want that slow paced island lifestyle from what I can tell. I believe those numbers of folks moving are quite low too as most people are moving Halifax. I grew up in Cape Breton myself btw. Thanks for watching 😀 - Trevor
We bought 20 acres in Cape Breton and we are moving in May there from BC. Starting an organic sheep farm :) My dream. Look forward to the quiet island life.
I haven't spent this much time here in Nova Scotia, so prior to this I would have been surprised to hear so many people want to move here. But after the last 12 months when people say this to me I can now understand it. I guess it just took me decades to appreciate.
It took us decades to appreciate it as well 😀 Now we're not shocked at all that so many folks want to move here. It's been a blast exploring our own backyard that's for sure - Trevor
It's funny that I lived in Nova Scotia for 2 years but moved to Ottawa because I got a new job, and now after thinking about things I wanna move back~ TvT The people were quite friendly and the food oh the foooood.... ❤
Awesome, I haven't been to East Coast and I'm from Montreal. Once covid rule relax, this might be my next vacation this summer. Thanks for this video..:)
Man you guys, we're gonna run out of things to do in Nova Scotia when we do visit if I keep watching your videos. Everytime I watch your Halifax videos it motivates me and excites me and look forward to visiting beautiful Canada when all this is over. Thanks for the videos
It's great that Halifax is growing. But as someone whose lived in HRM my whole life, it's frustrating to see people coming from far and wide driving up real estate costs. I was finally at a point in my life where I could afford a house but now with the real estate market going crazy, I just can't compete. Everything is a bidding war and everything is selling for WAY over asking price. I guess we'll just have to wait for a little longer for the market to crash or something :/
The market is going crazy indeed. We almost lost our new place last minute ourselves with competing offers. I luv seeing the city grow as well but it's so hard to buy a home right now it's almost not worth trying. Thanks for watching! - Trevor
@@DelightfulTravellers We've put the house hunt on hold for the time being. Last place we bid on was listed @200k, we went in at 240k , lost to someone at 265k. It's crazy !
@@shayjohnson5830 haha yes, that's what I'm holding out for ! We arent getting gouged on rent for the time being so Im content with just waiting for now. Fingers crossed its sooner rather than later !
We have only been to Martinique Beach once but had a really cool life experience there...it was around 6 yrs ago. My hubs got to help rescue a beached dolphin/porpoise. We were there with his best friend from high school and they were in their late 60s. To do so much with your life and still have once in a lifetime experiences is just the best.
Loved this one guys! That beach is amazing! I have not been to mainland NS nearly enough (other than a dart out to Costco). Halifax is a gem of a city and would make an awesome home for sure.
Nova Scotia reminds me of Maine, and Halifax of Portland, ME. I have lived in New England most of my life yet have not made it to Novia Scotia. It looks like a very comfortable and friendly place-- just my style.
you two are great ambassadors for Halifax!! If I did not have plans to retire to Greece, Nova Scotia would surely be high on my list!! Thanks for a great video, always learning something about your home town each time!! Have a great week, guys!
@@DelightfulTravellers can't wait until we "Americans" get the green light to visit Greece; already had to cancel one trip...lol...I need to start scouting houses for retirement :)
Halifax looks wonderful, I’m really enjoying your winter Canada series, thanks guys......and must mention your super professional filming and editing skills as always Trevor - perfect! 👏
@@DelightfulTravellers full of admiration for your dedication Trevor......me, I love filming, but I’ve had enough after a couple of hours just on iMovie! 😂
I lived in Halifax for 15 years loved it...everything you need is there...lived I Truro..and also Charlos Cove...and also Charlottetown PEI...the Maritimes are awesome!
It is on my bucket list to visit the Maritime provinces especially Halifax. As a Canadian especially as worldwide travel may be restricted for a while. Never mind Toronto as Vancouver is one of the most expensive cities in the WORLD. AS an early senior maybe Halifax might be an option to retire. Anyways a BIG thumbs up!
One of the prettiest beaches in the area. It's exactly an hour from our house in Bedford. We were there last summer for the first time. Guilty of not exploring.
I live in Cape Breton (about a 4 hour drive from Halifax) and always love going for trips there. Great shopping, nightlife & everything. Moving there for school in September 👍
All smiles watching you two, very refreshing. I appreciate the New Scotland pride, enjoy your travels 😊 Just got to the point where you were talking about property prices, my home is on 6 acres and is 120 years old, 60k, 8 years ago, easily 250 now, self built house down the road that was worth about 300 is now listed for 600. Not a good time to buy in NS, for us anyways lol
The river at the musq. Hbr trail is nearing the end for most kayakers🛶 to the bonus rapids(short), best after rain. Many go miles up steam (around 80kms) and camp along their way down. There are sites people have set up (free-just leave cleaner then you arrived) for camping. Great kayaking adventure for anyone. Another great video ❤️👍
I live in Musquodoboit Harbour and run that trail daily! The locals call it the musquodoboit trail, and it was formally the location of the Canadian Pacific trainway. They ripped up the tracks and made it into a walking trail after it closed down.
Hi! I'm a lash artist from Toronto where the market is saturated. I'm wondering if I'd do better in Halifax? Do many women there get lash extensions? Any insight is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Nice video! I lived in Halifax for 8 years. My only bone with NS is the lack of doctors. I'm so used to having access to doctors and hospitals now, I don't know if I could go back. Still, I'd have never left NS if I had found a good job there. Wonderful place to live.
New viewer here thanks to TH-cam recommendations. I've lived in Halifax for about 7 years now and quite enjoy it. My favorite thing is the biking trails. A lot of former rail lines have been turned to long biking paths. I live in Clayton Park and there's connection to the Rails to Trails path only 10 minutes from my place. You can apparently bike all the way to Yarmouth (south shore of NS) via the trail. I especially recommend renting some bikes at the Bike & Bean in Upper Tantallon and maybe bike to the beaches that are about an hour bike ride away.
Great video, when I recover from the pandemic (it's tough now) I'll send some support you're way so you can continue to bring us great videos from Nova Scotia and the world. Near that railway museum is a really good roadside ice-cream hut. I saw the letters (ar-me) on the lighthouse so I typed "ar-me lighthouse" without the quotes into Duck Duck Go and the first link showed that it is in Brittany, France. I think Cowie Hill is the highest point in Halifax. How the winters have changed--I'll be dating myself but I remember several decades ago it was not uncommon for winters to be cold enough that cars would drive on that inlet in front of your B & B. And that is salt water with strong tidal action! I've been liking your Halifax, and all of Nova Scotia, videos but for the sake of you two and your channel I hope you get to hit the airways soon.
Hi Anna & Trevor, good video congratulations....Thanks for giving to all the people information about this amazing province. I came here with my family three years ago and each day we discover, new places, nice people and a prosperous future for our children.
Very interesting, that castle you visited looks so much like the Castle of Good Hope, an important part of Cape Town history. And of course, we also have the City Hall right by the Grand Parade. Many similarities it seems 😁
It's not quite a castle though it's very big. It's more like a fort in the shape of a star (sort of) from above. Some day... we are coming to Cape Town Stephan - Trevor
@@rubywong7061 I Always say the only thing that Halifax doesn't have is a subway.ha ha!. It's much smaller city only about half a million people, little bit less. I think it's easier here to get work. Buying a house is cheaper. Police are friendly. Down side. Not many all night Tim Hortons. Very safe to walk around here.
Beautiful scenery. Really nice house rental. Would love to visit Halifax. It costs more to travel in my own country, its expensive for me to travel there from Manitoba. Nice video, thanks and take care.
Great vid guys as always! Question for Anna, where did you get your tie dye sweater in this vlog, I love it! Greetings from Woodstock, ON to our NS neighbours with hopes of being able to travel our great country this summer!
Getting to Nova Scotia from Western Canada is very expensive. People here would rather go somewhere else. Hope it is affordable and would definitely love to see that part of Canada.
Thanks so much for the great videos Trevor and Anna! This is my first time commenting. I live in the HRM and found your channel a couple months ago. I subscribed and binge watched all your videos from last year when you were stuck in the Philippines when the pandemic hit. Such scary times... glad you are back home and doing well now. Very smart idea to be safe and stick close to home until things get safer around the world. I am really loving your Nova Scotian travel videos... we live in such a beautiful province and it's so cool to see it through your eyes! It's made me fall in love all over again with our province... safest place in the world right now. Can't wait to see what new videos you'll make about life in Halifax and NS... so many amazing places to explore.
Yay we always love when we hear from someone for the first time 😀 Thank you for all the kind words. We have some big plans in the works in NS. We can't wait to share the details. There's going to be a whole lot more videos on Halifax coming up - Anna
Hey guys. Don’t want to break the Nova Scotia vibe because I live here and was born in Halifax but 56 years and counting, all I can say is Don’t think this 20/21 winter was the norm. Winters in NS vary widely. There may be a trend toward milder winters and warmer summers in recent years but, as we say... 5 miles or 5 minutes makes all the difference in weather here. Loving your Nova Scotia journeys
Oh we know.. we're both from NS and we know how winter goes. But.. each year seems to be getting slightly warmer. We will take it. That's all we are saying. We're very warm here compared to most of Canada. Glad you are enjoying the vlogs 😀 - Trevor
Guys, you are just great presenters in general.:D Also, the info about places and the positivity of your relationship is more infectious than the new variant! Thanks for the great vids.
We just posted a showcase on the Bedford library in Halifax. They're for free & places to meet people in Halifax They have vast arrays of audiobooks, music, toys, pictures, movies, tv & games. They're quiet & more private than youtube, netflix & Spotify too!

Hi! I’ve just discovered you. Congratulation! Very high quality of video and you are very dynamic. Just a suggestion to help people who English is not their first language… It would be great to write the name of the places you present at the bottow because sometimes, I can’t hear them clearly. Keep going!
Haven’t finished watching this but it’s looking good so far, I’ve lived here for almost 18 years so I have been to Citadel Hill, etc countless times, but one thing I’ve never done is the Harbour Harper lol that’s still on the bucket list🤣btw, the highest point in Halifax is the soccer field of the BMO Soccer Centre in Clayton Park! There is the saying that Halifax is “built on a hill”, and as you move out of downtown and travel literally “up” to Clayton Park you will clearly see that it is all uphill, and very steep at some points haha. PS: I love it here in Halifax!!! Moved here from Ontario when I was 4 years old so it’s all I really know. I love the whole vibe, it’s an exactly perfect cross between a city and a community. Sometimes you can go around all day without seeing anyone you know, but you can also walk into a random Sobeys or Walmart and see like 5 people you know haha good times🤣
About six years ago ago at a social event, I met a woman who was attending a art college in Baltimore, Maryland MICA She is originally from Ontario province but it moved to Nova Scotia Halifax I got the impression she really liked Halifax, but upon reading between the lines, what I notices that does not have cities with a lot of infrastructure developed for the demand. This is housing roads you name it. A very good example of this is the high cost of cell phone service and the high cost of domestic air travel goalie used to west or West east forcing a lot of Canadians that have to drive in the United States take US domestic flights and then drive back into Canada Ontario Especially around Toronto and the Laurentian Peninsula is already very expensive Halifax Nova Scotia offers a relatively mild climate because of the Maritime environment I’m not surprised I also know that New Brunswick has horse winters than Nova Scotia
Hey, thank you for the video. I'm from Halifax, and visited for the first time in twenty-three years in 2018. I left when I was nine, so it was a bit smaller than I remembered it - you could actually walk a lot of Halifax. Anyway, would have been great to see the Halifax harbor, The skate park near the Common, Dingle, the bridge to Dartmouth, the two universities, the site of the 1917 harbor explosion, and more. But, again, much appreciated.
Taylor Head Beach in my opinion is the most scenic. Except for the temps you would really think you were in the tropics. Also the South Shore has some spectacular beaches. Honestly Martinique is nice, but by far on even close to being one of the best. Check out Ingonish Beach in Cape Breton. It’s not too awful far from your Tiny Home.
We have got to get to Taylor Head at some point. Ingonish beach is okay but not our fav honestly. We prefer the beaches on the west side of CB 😀 - Trevor
You two are EXCELLENT ambassadors for your city (HALIFAX, NS.) the other "MARITIMES" (ie. Sister Canadian Provinces for those who don't know the "setup" in the "GREAT WHITE NORTH".) as well as for your beautiful homeland of CANADA too. Very nice video for a very nice place.
Hi, I’m from Ontario and I’m always watching your video, I’m just wondering if we need to quarantine if we go to Nova Scotia at this time? Thank you in advance.
Hi Michelle and thanks for always watching and following along 🤗 Yes you have to quarantine in Nova Scotia for 2 weeks if you're coming to the province. - Anna
I've lived here all my life and I'm 56 and I've never been to Martinique Beach! I have to check it out this summer! We have friends from Texas we are hoping will be able to get here to visit. Thanks for your video!
Your rental cottage looked great with all the windows, and the location seemed perfect. I loved the red-ish metal bridge and the train depot, as well as the beach at the end of the vlog. And if you have to be in a cold climate, NS looks like a great place to be "stuck".
Amazing vlog as always! Glad you got to check out Martinique. :) And I agree that Halifax seems to have a nearly perfect blend of big city and nature. Love it here! The Citadel is the highest point of downtown Halifax. There's a rule that none of the buldings can block the view of the harbour from the Citadel at its highest point...though I've seen some of the newer buildings bending that rule a bit. If you're looking for a beautiful hike, look up Duncan's Cove. It's a rocky trail along the ocean and it has a couple abandoned WW2 bunkers there. (Might be WW1). Also York Redoubt along the way to Duncan's Cove is a hidden gem if you want to see some old giant cannons and fortifications. Anyway, keep up the good work! :)
Martinique was great! I meant to say the peninsula when I asked if it's the highest point 😅 A lot of people say the north end (close the mackay bridge) is higher. Somehow we've never been to Duncan's cove and we use to live out that way. York Redoubt is a gem indeed - Trevor
is there somewhere I can find a full list of outgoings, not just utilities but do you have to pay council tax (covers garbage disposal, cleaning streets, local services)
There’s a six km beach at Taylor’s head with eight kms of trails around the headland with a 1.2 km beach in the bay as nice as Carter’s beach just another thirty minutes out. Taylor’s head provincial park.. plus just past Martinique is clam harbour
I’m moving to Halifax next year in 2023 and a little skeptical of the stigma of no jobs there but I think it’s improving.from Vancouver and can’t take it any longer, Wish me luck on this next adventure
OMG. I happened on this video because I watched another of your beautiful travel videos. You will never guess where I live... Musquodoboit Harbour 🤣🤣. I had no idea that you guys even lived in Halifax... this is too funny. Great job showing all the great features of downtown Halifax, and of the gorgeous rural village of Musquodoboit Harbour! Did you know that the Airbnb property you stayed in is now for sale? It sure is beautiful. Cheers from a new subscriber.
Was in Halifax in 1982. My ship pulled for a joint US Canadian exercise, had a great time and hope to visit again. Is the Split Crow still open? Had my first Alexander Keith's pale ale...one of my favorites
Just stumbled onto this, a year after I rented an air bnb farmhouse in Middle Musquodoboit for a month. So I will top your comment that I think Martinique Beach is the best in the province. I found a gourmet food store in Musquodoboit Harbour, the fish truck stops every Thursday with fresh catch, and even pop up clothing retail trailers in the high season. The shore drive east to Sheet Harbour and onward if you are heading to Cape Breton is a must. Taylor’s Head beach was recommended to me by my host as his favourite. Even better than Martinique! I would revisit here versus the south shore any day.
To be honest I'm a Newfie with an Ontario number that I have to keep for 2 more years. My wife and I came to Nova Scotia with the intention to move here. We treat everyone with respect. Northern Nova Scotia has been good but Halifax if your are not local, people are cold!!! We went into the tourist information on the water front and they were extremely unwelcoming and did not give us the time of day!!!! Even real-estate agents are not even returning our calls!!!! Prince Edward Island was great people are extremely friendly and courteous.... Maybe it's post covid. We are moving back to Alberta or even B.C. people are friendly and helpful there.
After spending two weeks in Nova Scotia we have decided to move back to Calgary we met a lot of friendly people but if you have a Ontario area code realstate agents about 55% we contacted would NOT call us back even if you called and emailed them several times... It made us think twice....How would potential employers treat us? We were afraid we would go bankrupt in Nova Scotia.. The feeling we got was your free to visit we would gladly take your money but you have to leave.
I see how this is, good bye Tever and Anna....No reply we spent $15,000 in moving from Calgary to Nova Scotia with our personal belongings. THEN BACK TO CALGARY PLUS FUEL!!!! Because Nova Scotia is not how you made it out to be Halifax was a joke!!!
I want to move to Halifax Nova Scotia. It all looks amazing. I’m a huge fan of the channel and as much as I love watching your travels far and wide, these staycation videos are stunning. I find myself daydreaming every Sunday of a better life in Novia Scotia.. thanks Anna and Trevor .. it truly looks delightful 👍
Hi Anna & Trevor - I love this video dedicated to all things Halifax. I wish you'd shown more of the Citadel, which reminds me in a small way of the view from Crescent Heights in downtown Calgary with the river below. Thanks
We're in that group of people wanting to move to Nova Scotia. Trying to decide between Halifax and Yarmouth. You might be feeling down because you can't travel, but I can say, selfishly, that it's been great being able to watch all this great content you've been posting from the east coast. Smile and be grateful for this time you've been given to explore close to home.
I love Martinique! You're just missing the beach chips and craft beer(s) 😂 Also - in case it hasn't been commented yet - That's the Ar Men lighthouse in Brittany! Another great video showing beautiful Halifax❤
Don't worry we picked up some craft beer at that little place on the way back. Our airbnb left chips for us 😅 Good to know about the lighthouse! Thanks 😀 - Trevor
Nova Scotia is very beautiful! I grew up here and maybe the cost of housing people think is way better but it’s not!! Only because the wages that people make here is not affordable!!! Minimum wage goes up but everyone that has a job doesn’t get a increase in pay. So people just starting a job are almost making the amount of people that have been with certain companies for 5+ years.
Halifax is look like a style of city that I love but as many people said about minimum wage or higher taxes I concern about how good it is for international student. How do you think about this? Can students live with minimum wage at 20 hours/week?! Thanks!
Last summer I was able to find a fantastic land deal of 1.25 acres, 200 m from the ocean, located on the south shore of NS for only $25,000. A bonus for me is that it has power and sewage. The tiny home may be salvageable but the Atlantic bubble has prevented me from checking it out yet. Can’t wait to get there!
Thanks guys for the comprehensive and accurate review of Halifax and NS in general. Being from Halifax I am often frustrated by the misconceptions that abound about the Maritime provinces in general mostly by people I have met while traveling around the world who have never even visited. Living in Toronto for now and missing Halifax. But all Maritimers eventually come home as I will soon. Stay safe. Cheers, Dan 😀🇨🇦
There are so many misconceptions of NS right!? Many Canadians even have those but I think that though is rapidly changing. It's easy to see why NS is great. Most people we meet travelling don't know where this place is either 🤷🏻 - Trevor
What is Name of beer place? Do you have footage of that? I live in Hali...and would like to make the drive one Sunday but sounds like I should call ahead!
For non-Canadian people, Halifax is way easier to get permanent residency than other provinces. The thing is they leave the city and move to bigger cities(Toronto or Vancouver.. etc) right after they get their PR or citizenship.

First haha.. well done🥇 Living by the ocean is likely the best part about the city Joanne 😀 - Trevor
You are welcome here as soon as covid travel restrictions are lifted. I’m sure you will love it like we do.
Moving here in August from the English Halifax. Gonna be a cool experience it seems! Great video. :)
Loved the drone shots of the harbor and the home there :D It is great that you guys live so close to the ocean also, a must for us!
I don't think we could live in any other province here honestly. NS has that perfect balance of city / nature 😀- Anna
Good video
Oh hey jumping places
@@JB-sz4wy You're right. The most depressing place ever. I can think of hundreds better places to live in Canada.
Fun (and informative) vlog! The drone shots of the beach were delightfully spectacular!
Thanks so much! 🤗 - Anna
There's still so much more for us to see as well! Bring on the warm weather and road trips! - Anna
Thx for the video! I love Halifax/Dartmouth. Best place in Canada from my view. Love to return to Halifax one day!
Not sure what we were expecting but this wasn't what we imagined Halifax looking like 🤷♀️🤷♂️ thanks for showing us around guys! We would really love to visit Canada someday 😁
haha yeah a lot of people say that when they first arrive to the city (or watch a video). It's a lot of fun here - Anna
Hii @Sarah & Marek
I would love to move there for the small town, quiet lifestyle 🙂 My grandparents are from there and I still have some family out that way!
It's been a blast exploring our own backyard that's for sure - Trevor
absolutely amazing and positive content guys, definitely subscribed hope to see you soon )))
Excellent video guys, been wanting to move back to Halifax, moved to Toronto 20 years ago, perhaps in another year or so. Keep up the good work.
We hope you can make it back here at some point! Though we do love TO as well - Anna
It's funny that I lived in Nova Scotia for 2 years but moved to Ottawa because I got a new job, and now after thinking about things I wanna move back~ TvT
The people were quite friendly and the food oh the foooood....
We hope this is the first place you come Jorge 🤗 - Anna
What a great video! We are falling in love with Halifax & NS. Cannot wait to visit! Drone shots were stunning! Beautiful place to live! ~Cara 😊

We need Rock N Roll True Stories here in Halifax lol
Not wanted or welcome.
I’m on Vancouver island and houses are selling for $700,000 when then are worth $400,000. We have no hope. Kind of why I’m watching this video lol

Wow what an experience indeed. You'll never forget that one 😀 - Anna
Loved this one guys! That beach is amazing! I have not been to mainland NS nearly enough (other than a dart out to Costco). Halifax is a gem of a city and would make an awesome home for sure.
Up until mid 2020 and this year we haven't really explored too much of the mainland either 😀 It's been a lot of fun - Anna
Beach is awesome, maybe in 50 years with global warming it might be warm enough to swim in.
Wow those beach shots 🏖️ Thx for the reminder to get outside today. Great video 🎥
Thanks Jenny! Maybe try Martinique Beach 😉 It's quite the day out there - Trevor
Nova Scotia reminds me of Maine, and Halifax of Portland, ME. I have lived in New England most of my life yet have not made it to Novia Scotia. It looks like a very comfortable and friendly place-- just my style.
Portland ME is very much a smaller version of Halifax. The cities have so much in common. Especially the great food scenes in both places 😀 - Trevor
Love Maine too...Ocean Park every summer in 60’s and 70’s..beautiful!
you two are great ambassadors for Halifax!! If I did not have plans to retire to Greece, Nova Scotia would surely be high on my list!! Thanks for a great video, always learning something about your home town each time!! Have a great week, guys!

Thank you Calvin! This city would be a great place to retire in 🤗 - Anna
Trevor is from Cape Breton 😀 - Anna
Moved to Halifax from Scotland in 2019 on a whim. Best move I've ever made, people genuinely the most warm and friendly I've ever met.
hi,i live in cornwall. just wondered are there many pubs and music ?
All smiles watching you two, very refreshing. I appreciate the New Scotland pride, enjoy your travels 😊 Just got to the point where you were talking about property prices, my home is on 6 acres and is 120 years old, 60k, 8 years ago, easily 250 now, self built house down the road that was worth about 300 is now listed for 600. Not a good time to buy in NS, for us anyways lol
Better views than last time⭕️
I’m gonna buy your cookbook and eat better than last time
Hey that’s my doctor!
That sounds like so much fun! We didn't know you could do that there. The whole area on the eastern shore is beautiful - Anna
I live in Musquodoboit Harbour and run that trail daily! The locals call it the musquodoboit trail, and it was formally the location of the Canadian Pacific trainway. They ripped up the tracks and made it into a walking trail after it closed down.
We are such big fans of that area now. Can't wait to go back when it's hot and beach weather - Trevor

@@shayjohnson5830 I imagine so. But not nearly enough.
Hello new viewer! Welcome aboard. We know where the Bike and Bean so we may just have to try your suggestion 😀- Anna
We'll get back on the road this fall I hope 😀 I also think you're right about Cowie Hill being the highest point! - Trevor
Hi Anna & Trevor, good video congratulations....Thanks for giving to all the people information about this amazing province. I came here with my family three years ago and each day we discover, new places, nice people and a prosperous future for our children.
It's so great to hear that you and your family are really liking NS Camilo 😀 - Trevor
Martinique Beach is amazing at night. Stargazing there is a delight. You guys should try it. It's really something else!!!
We moved here from Toronto almost 3 years ago. Love it here
What is the pro and con living here compare to Toronto in your experience?
@@rubywong7061 I Always say the only thing that Halifax doesn't have is a subway.ha ha!. It's much smaller city only about half a million people, little bit less. I think it's easier here to get work. Buying a house is cheaper. Police are friendly. Down side. Not many all night Tim Hortons. Very safe to walk around here.
Oh yeah! We have 3 Long and McQuade stores. Music stores
What is the healthcare system like?
How is it living in Halifax now?
Beautiful scenery. Really nice house rental. Would love to visit Halifax. It costs more to travel in my own country, its expensive for me to travel there from Manitoba. Nice video, thanks and take care.
You guys are amazing!
You need to see Carter's Beach. It is our Caribbean beach in Nova Scotia!
We're hoping to get there once the weather warms up 🤗 - Anna
Actually Taylor’s head is less well known and just as close to halifax as Carter’s on the eastern shore
Great vid guys as always! Question for Anna, where did you get your tie dye sweater in this vlog, I love it! Greetings from Woodstock, ON to our NS neighbours with hopes of being able to travel our great country this summer!
Old Navy Sue! 🙈 I couldn't help it and I like that retro vibe - Anna
Getting to Nova Scotia from Western Canada is very expensive. People here would rather go somewhere else. Hope it is affordable and would definitely love to see that part of Canada.
It's the same here. Getting out west isn't cheap so most people vacation locally or TO - Trevor

Hi Colleen how're you doing today...?
Definitely considering moving here at some point in my life

Hi! I’ve just discovered you. Congratulation! Very high quality of video and you are very dynamic. Just a suggestion to help people who English is not their first language… It would be great to write the name of the places you present at the bottow because sometimes, I can’t hear them clearly. Keep going!
All of that information is always in the description area of our videos 😀
Nova Scotia looks like a hell hole. Do those mud bogs have any quick sand?
About six years ago ago at a social event, I met a woman who was attending a art college in Baltimore, Maryland MICA She is originally from Ontario province but it moved to Nova Scotia Halifax
I got the impression she really liked Halifax, but upon reading between the lines, what I notices that does not have cities with a lot of infrastructure developed for the demand. This is housing roads you name it.
A very good example of this is the high cost of cell phone service and the high cost of domestic air travel goalie used to west or West east forcing a lot of Canadians that have to drive in the United States take US domestic flights and then drive back into Canada
Ontario Especially around Toronto and the Laurentian Peninsula is already very expensive
Halifax Nova Scotia offers a relatively mild climate because of the Maritime environment
I’m not surprised
I also know that New Brunswick has horse winters than Nova Scotia
Hey, thank you for the video. I'm from Halifax, and visited for the first time in twenty-three years in 2018. I left when I was nine, so it was a bit smaller than I remembered it - you could actually walk a lot of Halifax. Anyway, would have been great to see the Halifax harbor, The skate park near the Common, Dingle, the bridge to Dartmouth, the two universities, the site of the 1917 harbor explosion, and more. But, again, much appreciated.
Hi Anna and Trevor! NS is such a beautiful place! Your filming, editing and the music you choose are just perfect 👌🏻

Great video. My husband was born in Berwick and he's dying to move back. He says "the East Coast is calling me home" 😊

Your rental cottage looked great with all the windows, and the location seemed perfect. I loved the red-ish metal bridge and the train depot, as well as the beach at the end of the vlog. And if you have to be in a cold climate, NS looks like a great place to be "stuck".
Our rental was the best Doug. It faces west so the sunsets were out of this world. 😀 - Trevor
Amazing vlog as always! Glad you got to check out Martinique. :)
And I agree that Halifax seems to have a nearly perfect blend of big city and nature.

Oh no way! That's too funny Laurie. We have quite a few videos on NS in general and yes ... we're based out of Halifax 😀
Was in Halifax in 1982. My ship pulled for a joint US Canadian exercise, had a great time and hope to visit again. Is the Split Crow still open? Had my first Alexander Keith's pale ale...one of my favorites
Yes, Split Crow is still here!
That area is such a great part of NS. We’re so glad you like it! 😀 - Trevor

Damn man you really put me off

Nova Scotia is very beautiful! I grew up here and maybe the cost of housing people think is way better but it’s not!! Only because the wages that people make here is not affordable!!! Minimum wage goes up but everyone that has a job doesn’t get a increase in pay. So people just starting a job are almost making the amount of people that have been with certain companies for 5+ years.
Halifax is look like a style of city that I love but as many people said about minimum wage or higher taxes I concern about how good it is for international student. How do you think about this? Can students live with minimum wage at 20 hours/week?! Thanks!
Wonderful video. Nice creation.
Great work friends.
Thanks TTV! - Trevor
Wow now that's a deal! Which part of the south shore? - Anna
It's called the 'Harbour Brewing Company'. We don't have footage of that as we didn't have the camera with us. It's super small - Anna
I’ve lived in Halifax my whole life I just wanted to know more about Halifax
