Thank you for the video. I moved from Victoria, BC to Nova Scotia 7 years ago and I am very happy with my decision. Not only houses are much more affordable but the uncrowded beaches and mild winter in the South shore contributed to my decision. Being a surfer and a kayaker made my decision much easier. Nova Scotia has the lowest doctor retention in Canada for different reasons I will not mention here. There is a dentist in Liverpool which I used no complain about it. Good luck to you guys.
Well done! We made the moved from Van Island, Sooke, BC in Oct 21. Purely for financial reasons, it got too expensive to live there! We arrived Nov 9, bought our house shortly thereafter, moved in Dec 1st. Taxes ... agree, (yikes!) made a mistake with the first year income tax claim! Cost us dearly. Would have been better to say we moved for Jan 1st, even though we Lived in BC officially for 11 months and 1 month in NS ...had to pay NS tax for all 12 months! We Have been doing similar as you, we bought our first rental property, Jan, 2022, I'm currently working on the purchase of a duplex, which we live in half, rent out the other half, and rent out the house we are in now. Giving us "3 doors" .... even though the Gov't and the rental situation has been ...um "challenging", I wish we had done this "a long time ago"! PS, if you haven't found them yet, look up IPOANS in Halifax.
