All the Haori designs are super sick but my two personal favorite have to be Rengoku and Tanjiros. The simplicity yet recognizable of Tanjiros is so sick and it honestly can work with so many fits. The flames of Rengoku’s with the white just looks so sick. As a artist I just adore the effort into the character designs and outfits so good
Shinobu’s haori is probably my favorite just because the butterfly motif is included masterfully even when you’re not seeing the shape. The black lines and the gradual fade from white to the colorful edges is beautiful and every moment she makes in it appears graceful and airy in a way that evokes a butterfly’s flight
I think the mangaka made a great decision to make the manga be set during the taisho era since it was a period of Japan embracing western ideas and trends which just allows for so many east meets west type of outfits, and of the older traditional japanese style blending with the more modern style of the early 1910s-1920s
Rengoku is absolutely my favorite character design in the show. The fact that his haori is sleeveless lends itself so well to both the feeling of being engulfed in flames and this sorta Western superhero vibe, which fits so well with his personality. He's over the top, goes out of his way to be the nicest person he can be, and will do everything he can to stop villains. He is my favorite boy, just a real Chef's Kiss of a character
Dude, I'm so glad I'm not the only one who gets a "Western superhero vibe" from Rengoku. When I first saw the Mugen Train movie and witnessed what he could do, with that flowing haori that looks like a cape, I remember thinking, "Oh. OH. So he's a SUPERHERO..."
It's always interesting to me when mangakas make color blocking such an integral part of their character designs when the canvas of their art is black and white 90% of the time. The fact that they cared that much about an aspect of their characters that only shows up on covers and choice chapters is impressive.
Giyu's haori is by far my favourite. What makes it the best for me is that it tells a story with its design. The red half was the design of his late sisters haori while the patterned other half is the same design his co-student Sabito wore

Zenitsu is my favourite character (as you can probably tell from my pfp) and though his design isn’t my favourite, it’s always intrigued me. I remember seeing him on a Twitter post before I ever watched the show and was immediately drawn in by his bright and bold colours. I assumed that because he was so bright, that he must be a really cheery and outgoing character because that’s such a common character design trait, but I was totally wrong. He’s pessimistic, probably has depression lol, and he genuinely hates himself. I always thought that contrast was super interesting!
Zenitsu and Iguro’s haori have to be my favorite. That might be because they’re my favorite characters, but they also speak so much to the characters. Zenitsu’s pairs well with his hair in reminding the viewer of his breathing technique. The gradient from the lightning strike carries down his whole design. It also represents his mindset and personality, as yellow represents fear and childishness, as well as excitement and intellect.
Not fear, but caution. Not childness, but innocence & honesty like a young child. Society trains and molds children to lie in some shape or form. I like the character, as he is one of my five favorite demon slayers in demon slayers

The choice to place the series in the Taisho era and the intersecting of the old style and new style fashions is also linked heavily to the way the world is changing and entering a new era, with the demon slayer corps being almost anachronistic for the time. When the boys show up with swords in the entertainment district it really causes a stir. You also see a contrast between characters wishing to see the world move on and progress, while others cling to the old status quo, even hoping to regress it in many ways.

My favorite Haori is Iguro's. The thick achromatic stripes do a lot for his character, especially since the heterochromia, facewrap, and snake all make his design a little busy. I would not be surprised to see someone wearing it on the street over the top of an all-black yohji fit.

Tengens fashion is for sure my favourite. The meaning behind it is simple too. Tengen is the sound hashira and sound can be quiet and loud. This is shown through tengen’s past being a shinobi (quiet) and his (loud) flashy outfit.
I could copy paste everything you said about the uniforms in Demon Slayer and apply it to Bleach (best drip imo across all anime) or Jujutsu Kaisen. Shinobu has the coolest one by a mile! Really like the blue-with-clouds one Tanjiro had from his master, too! Also, not pictured, (and don’t look up the character if you haven’t finished the manga yet), but my favorite in the series is Kokushibo! I don’t know anything about Demon Slayer except for the flashy clothes. Tbh I’m a little sad there aren’t many people who rock a floral pattern (I’m a sucker for floral patterns.) As for who I think is the most Stylish… probably Tengen and Shinobu. Also I’m now curious about the fact that the story is set in the Taisho Period. You don’t really see a lot of Anime or Manga set in this timeframe.

Tengens fashion is for sure my favourite. The meaning behind it is simple too. Tengen is the sound hashira and sound can be quiet and loud. This is shown through tengen’s past being a shinobi (quiet) and his (loud) flashy outfit.
I could copy paste everything you said about the uniforms in Demon Slayer and apply it to Bleach (best drip imo across all anime) or Jujutsu Kaisen. I really appreciated how you tied the meaning of each specific pattern to the character though, that was really cool.

I don’t know anything about Demon Slayer except for the flashy clothes. Tbh I’m a little sad there aren’t many people who rock a floral pattern (I’m a sucker for floral patterns.) As for who I think is the most Stylish… probably Tengen and Shinobu. Also I’m now curious about the fact that the story is set in the Taisho Period. You don’t really see a lot of Anime or Manga set in this timeframe.
Shoutout to the respect for Haganezuka Hotaru's understated drip. He's in the top 3 on my list of favorite Demon Slayer characters. Such a funny, cool dude.

I think tanjiro's haori is my fave just because it's so iconic you can actually find real shirts with that pattern and put on black pants and BAM. Ive done doubletakes on the street before thinking "cosplay?!" When it was just a regular outfit!

My fav look/design probably has to be nezuko's in all honesty its colorful and eye catching and most of all adorable on her fitting her sweet and gentle yet fierce personality
