- Episode 9: Journey from Chitradurga to Murdeshwar: Exploring Coastal Wonders
As the sun rises over the historic city of Chitradurga, we bid farewell to its ancient fortresses and storied past, setting our sights on the coastal town of Murdeshwar. With the promise of sandy beaches and ocean vistas ahead, we eagerly mount our bikes, ready to embark on the next chapter of our adventure.
Leaving the rugged terrain of Chitradurga behind, we set a course towards the azure waters of the Arabian Sea. The Triumph Scrambler 400X leads the way, its classic silhouette cutting through the morning mist with a sense of purpose and determination.
As we ride along the winding roads that hug the coastline, the salty breeze of the sea fills the air, invigorating our senses with its briny scent. The Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 and KTM 390 Adventure follow closely behind, their engines humming in harmony with the rhythm of the waves.
As we approach Murdeshwar, anticipation builds in the air, knowing that we are nearing one of Karnataka's most iconic landmarks. Perched atop a rocky promontory overlooking the sea, the towering statue of Lord Shiva beckons us towards its sacred embrace.
Parking our bikes, we take a moment to admire the awe-inspiring beauty of Murdeshwar, marveling at the intricacies of its architectural wonders and the majesty of its natural surroundings. With its pristine beaches and panoramic views, Murdeshwar offers a tranquil sanctuary amidst the chaos of the world.
Exploring the town on foot, we immerse ourselves in the vibrant tapestry of life that thrives along the coast. From bustling marketplaces to quaint seaside cafes, Murdeshwar captivates us with its charm and hospitality, inviting us to linger a little longer in its embrace.
As the sun begins to set, casting a golden hue over the horizon, we gather on the beach to witness nature's spectacle in all its glory. With the sound of crashing waves as our soundtrack, we reflect on the journey that has brought us here, grateful for the memories we've made and the adventures that still await us.
Join us in the next episode as we continue our exploration of Karnataka's coastal wonders, uncovering hidden treasures and embarking on new adventures along the way. The road ahead is filled with excitement and possibility, and we can't wait to see where it leads us next.

Three riders, three opinions and serious on/off road testing, in serious weather 👌 quality footage 👌 👍
I appreciate that! Glad you enjoyed it. Comments like this encourage us to ride more. 🏍️💨💨💨💨👍
I’m going to be disappointed when I run out of episodes! 😢 is there just 1 more 😮🏍️
🤔 Nothing stopping you watching the same episodes over again and again !!.....
Me to biker girl 👍🏍️💨💨💨
Absolutely
Me too it's been a journey, I was in Goa last year and it's made me want to go back
I’ve just watched 9 episodes straight!! I was in the market for a 2nd hand full-size ADV bike but giving that Himilayan serious consideration after watching this. Good work
You should try and test ride the Himalayan, it’s a great bike and you won’t be disappointed, but it’s alway good if you get the chance to ride as many as you can on demo. Glad you enjoyed the videos watching all in one go is a good adventure on its own 👍🏍️💨💨💨💨
This has been a fantastic adventure and series, you guys are great! So good that I gave you a sub! Thank you for sharing all of your adventures. Cheers, -Steve-
Welcome aboard! Glad you enjoyed the ride 👍
After a long time I have just binged watched 9 episodes of pure bike love. Amazing videos. No better way to test bikes and do comparison for this segment of bikes
Thanks Buddy. Glad you enjoyed it 👍🏍️💨💨💨💨
Just love this rewiew you have done and what a journey! amazing trip among such nature and animals and sandroads among with regular roads! Im from Sweden but lives in Peru now and I cant wait til I get my bike so I can go through Peru! Well done !
Sounds like you’ve got an amazing adventure ready yourself. South America is on my hit list. Glad you enjoyed the ride 👍🏍️💨💨💨💨
Another great video many thanks
Thanks again! 👍🏍️💨💨💨
Throughly enjoyed this one as well. Entertaining & brilliant. Thanks once again
Glad you enjoyed it. The bridge was my favourite of mine.
Thank you so much for the uplifting and informative series. Helped me through my COVID isolation and revealed a large part of India to tempt my next travel. Thanks to the three of you. Now to episode 10 sadly.
You are so welcome! Glad you enjoyed it, more to come in the summer months
Wow! Beautiful place, I been to India about 7 times, but I always tend to go north towards the the Himalayas, I should try the south sometime
You should! It’s still very diverse and extremely interesting. 👍🏍️💨💨💨
Also try d unexplored natural/cultural paradise that is North-East India, d stunning tropical region on d foothills of Eastern Himalayas bordering SE Asia is a hidden gem. NE India is rarely explored by tourists cause of it's remoteness & lack of knowledge but it's by far d most beautiful region in India & one of d most ethnically diverse regions in d world being home 2 hundreds of indigenous/tribal communities (some of d nicest people in India) with their unique cultures, attires, cuisines etc. That lush mountainous region is also less populated, clean & provides a unique, fascinating & relaxing tourist experience away from all d hustle/chaos while travelling India.
Awesome adventure of 3 great bikes ridden by 3 great riders. Well done all.
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for the support 👍🏍️💨💨💨💨
Have to say guys this is the best adventure by far I never new India is such a beautiful place wish I didn't have to work spend my time doing stuff like that it just goes to show what a magnificent world we live in and we need to look after it for us and the future when you finally finish then I think you three need to do another adventure because this one is fantastic 👍
Already got another planned for August Alan. Thank for the comments and support. It’s been amazing 👍🏍️💨💨💨
Have loved this series. Great work
Cheers buddy 👍🏍️💨💨💨💨
I’m in the market for a scrambler 400x…..so eagerly awaiting the conclusion to the series 🤣
extraordynery !!! thanks for your review ...
My pleasure! Glad you enjoyed it
Love this journey to go on and on so we could watch episodes after episodes
It’s nearly coming to the end and I’m sad so I’ve just arranged another tour in August 👍🏍️👍💨👍👍
@thatbikersimon Can you guys ride the Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650, Honda NX500 and Benelli TRK 502X / Kawasaki Versys 650?
@@thatbikersimonplease don’t. Try November-march. It’s the most pleasant weather you could ask for. August will be insanely hot. Or if you really wanna come back in August go towards the Himalayan range or towards the north eastern state called Arunachal Pradesh (Tawang to be specific)
wow i am from chitradurga!!! missed meeting you guys!!!so guess you are taking all the internal roads and avoiding the express highways! Temple like a bday cake-lol that's one analogy 🤣🤣🤣, the murdeshwar drone shots were epic!!!!
We’re generally doing a mix of roads but mainly avoiding the highways, glad your enjoying the ride 👍🏍️💨💨💨💨
I live winters in Thailand where we have a second home, the first in Portugal. Over there we have a Enfield Meteor 350 and am thinking about the new Himalayan, my friend is considering a 400 Triumph so will refer this to him. The trip reminds me of many in northern Thailand and Laos we have done, except you ride faster. Thanks boys!!!
Glad you enjoyed it. Both bikes are excellent it’s hard to choose between them. My grandad lived in Thailand (when he was alive) so visited many times) I’ve rode a fair bit in the north, I’m hoping to return soon and Vlogg it for channel. Ride safe buddy 👍🏍️👍💨💨💨
@@thatbikersimon We normally go back early November and stay until early March.
I'm jealous of everything but the heat mate!
The riding looks wonderful and the food OMG...
It really is! So good, I’ve just planned another amazing India tour for August so something to look forward to 👍🏍️💨💨💨
Great to hear. What part of India are you planning ?@@thatbikersimon
@@ashutosht10 Himalayas 🏍️💨💨💨💨
@@thatbikersimon Also visit North-East India in future. The most beautiful & diverse region of India, NE is an unexplored natural/cultural paradise, truly a hidden gem.
It was like revisiting the route along with you other than Rameswaram to Chitra Durga I have ridden the route on my Honda Highness. It was a fantastic series with your awesome comments along the way. By your accent, it seems you are from somewhere around Hull in the UK. Looking forward to your pick among three.
Great 👍glad your enjoying the episodes, it’s been adventure and I ready for more. India is a fantastic country 🏍️💨💨💨💨
Noooo. It’s coming to an end. Loved the journey so far. Would love to see more videos of this kind. Please could you do a commuter comparison with the Harley, Honda cb 350 and maybe the classic or something on those lines
Glad you enjoyed it. I’ve got more planned for the future which I will announce in next video. Il take a look at the bikes you mentioned
6:27 the great Divide 🤣🤣
😂👍
Such a really great series, looking forward to your final review after riding all 3 bikes, and maybe a quick thought against something like a Honda 500 twin as a comparison, especially with the upgraded NX, which is not a million miles away pricewise
Many thanks for your comment. The last episode will be out today. Glad you enjoyed it series. There’s a chance I might get to ride a few Hondas this year.
The temple that looked like birthday cake.
It did I’ve never seen anything so colourful
Lovely ❤
Thanks 🙏👍🏍️💨💨💨
hmmm...i think i passed these guys when i was riding from Dhanushkodi to Chitoor and further....i was riding the Super Meteor 650.....
How do you find the suspension?
My intercptr650...only shitty part is the suspension..espl front
@@sanjaysharma-jf8fv well, Not going to lie, wish the rear suspension was slightly softer....but its a compromise that I have accepted because of the cruiser format of the bike. But on good roads, there is no bike that i would rather ride than the SM650....
Suspension on the supermeteor
Was you wearing a action camera?
Yes, it was us and i remember you. I was riding the Himalayan that day. We found a Cafe Coffee Day further on. Cheers. Alex.
Another Brilliant Vid Simon, thanks to you and the Guys. You did a great summary today when riding the Triumph, you mentioned Depreciation!!! The Simple Fact that EVERY BMW Rider calmy igores the pound notes flying off their Over Engineered, Over Priced, Unreliable Horror Show!!
But anyway, great ride today, you have mentioned in the series MPG. Personally, it has a massive bearing for me. Again, BMW comes bottom of that as well. I run a Suzuki GSX S1000 two years old. I can sell it now for more than what it cost me?? I looked at all the makes, models in that Category, Sport Tourer and to me what it Costs to run the Bike and service it is crucial? Surely? It was way out in front of any BMW for Running Cost and on performance and reliability, You need to re-mortgae your house to run a BMW at £22k you simply have to be insane? You still get wet when it rains.
But your series has been fantastic viewing great viceo quality and i know a lot of time goes into the editing, so really well done for such a prompt, efficient and incredibly interesting Tour. I have been as jealous as hell. Although my bike is nowhere near as good as your for the multiple types of surfaces. I would be very interested if you just touch on the GPro you use? Edit with? just as a guide.
My personal favourite of the three is the Enfield. I just think it's the best all rounder. The NTK for me is too complex for the category and more expensive to run? I am looking forward to your summary. I am not into Triumphs generally not very reliable and nowhere near the built quality and releliability of the Japanese bikes simple as really. You can beat the backside out of my bike and it just laughs at me. I have found Suzuki to be "Bulletproof" for me a major factor. Again, the so called leader BMW never even made the top ten in a the worldwide survey a few years back. Return to bench review main dealers. Top Yamaha, joint second Honda/Suzuki (moral victory Honda astounding range of models) fourth Kawasaki. What does that say?
Thanks again to you and the Guys, Brilliant Tour!! Congratulations (Apologies for my Love and Respect to BMW! the most overrated two wheels around!)
Thank you for your detailed feedback and kind words! I'm glad you enjoyed the series. It's interesting to hear your perspective on motorcycle brands and your positive experience with Suzuki. As for the GoPro I use, I primarily rely on the GoPro for filming but because of the hot weather the insta 360 ace pro is more reliable,Its durability and versatility make it ideal for capturing various types of riding experiences. And it's great to hear that you have a favorite among the bikes featured in the series. Each rider has their own preferences and priorities when it comes to choosing a motorcycle. Thank you again for your support and feedback!
Very Beautiful
Thank you! Cheers! 👍
Another great ride, would love to do a ride like this. Can you post a link to the organiser/tour operator pls.
Hi David, I’m doing a ride with Alex and the Nomadic knights team this august if your interested in joining us for a journey around the Himalayas, my final video (on Tuesday) I’ve got a discount code going out on the video. Limited spaces riding the new RE Himalayan 450 it will be one amazing experience. I personally will be riding and vlogging the tour. This is the link to the website check out the roof of India tour 👍🏍️💨💨💨
Been cross the world, but my god India is beautiful❤
You must have some amazing memories. India is one of my favourite places 👍🏍️💨💨💨
Any flat tires or crashes or tip overs?? Great series.
No I can’t believe it, but off camera we all have a few close calls. The only issues with any bikes was mirrors coming loose 👌🏍️💨💨💨
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you 🏍️💨💨💨💨
Love the content. I've used this to decide on my next bike. Well almost. I'm 6'2 so I'm tempted by the Triumph. What other road trips are you thinking of doing?
Thanks for the honest review
Many thanks, the triumph is a great bike and you’ll be fine with your height, but I think ultimately it come down to looks and what you want the bike for.
Hi. Thankyou for the reply . Mainly to and from work, and the weekend adventures ..
Loving this series Simon, I can't wait to hear your decision... I would guess the RE?
Interesting thoughts 💭 🏍️💨💨💨
I am indeed loving watching your Series! I am going to be 58 soon, bought the Scrambler 400X some months ago, and plan for a ride to Spiti and Zanskar Valley up north with her!! Gives me a good idea how the 400X will or should behave on that terrain! How do you rate the stock tires for the off roading bits? Safe and enjoyable rides ahead, you guys! ❤
That’s fantastic news, I would say I would probably look At other tyre options If your going to hit the off road. Maybe a 70/30 tyre might be better for the grip in the Spiti valley or though I will be riding through there in August on the RE Himi so il find out how the more road focused tyre copes with the terrain
@@thatbikersimon Thanks Simon!! Do keep me posted on the status of the tires!! I will be following in September, God willing! I was wondering if the Reise On / Off road type would work!! Else the Metz would be my next choice!! Enjoy your rides ahead, guys :-)
Please try Tawang(Arunachal Pradesh) next time when you guys are here. Lots of people avoid this place and always head towards Himalayan region
It’s good to explore the whole place for sure. 👌 🏍️💨💨💨💨
I can’t find the final verdict?? Have you posted it yet Simon?????
Tomorrow morning 11am uk time ish
You should visit Mizoram in the North East of India. It's a wonderful and beautiful hill state
Sounds amazing il put it on the bucket list 👍🏍️💨💨💨💨
How long do I have to wait for next episode
Tomorrow 👍🏍️💨💨💨💨
what camera is that on your helmet?
Insta 360 ace pro, it’s the first time I’ve used it and I’m quite impressed 👍🏍️💨💨💨💨
@@thatbikersimon So am I, very clear sound. Is that a dedicated Insta 360 mic and module?
@@TheLostBoy01 I use a mic made by rode and you have to buy the adapter from insta to plug it into
@@thatbikersimon Great! thx for the info! Im soon getting my Himalayan 450 and was looking for a helmet combo as well. Cheers!
Interesting triumph has gone with cast wheels when the competition has spoke and the type of bike it is would lend itself to spokes.
I’m not sure if there is a optional upgrade for spokes wheels.
Hi simon, which is the most comfortable motorcycle?
The Himalayan 450
For me but so is the Triumph
@@thatbikersimon Thank you.
Definitely won't be triumph, that bike was turned into a third wheel for this series.
Don’t to be sure the triumph is a good bike 👍🏍️💨💨💨
Have I missed the video of ride back to goa
No it’s coming out later today.
No audio coming from the video
That must be a issue your end it’s working fine.
You are right about something missing on the Scrambler400x
I think it just doesnt settle down at a highway cruising speed. Indian roads thats 100kmph..60 mph. It takes upwards of6000 rpm to get there. The Himi does 100 kmph at 5000 rpm..theres the different
Yes there’s a noticeable difference but the bikes are different I guess 👍🏍️💨💨💨💨
Please go to North East india ❤
I realy want to 👍🏍️💨💨💨
We rode the Northeast every year for 10 years, from 2013 to 2023. All seven states. Assam, Arunachal, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura & Meghalaya. This is the first year we've missed it. I love it. It's a beautiful place. Cheers. Alex
