One of the cleanest lines of any of the Fords of that era. Looks to me to me to be a # one car that needs a bit of detailing. If it had the original paint it would be a big plus. My uncle had a '63 Galaxie 500 (not an XL) back when they were new that looked just like this one minus the XL trim. His had no console of course, so his was the "three on the tree"to a 390 cid. I like the way Ford put "THUNDERBIRD" relief into the gold rocker covers. Overall, a great rust free California "black plate". Wonderful!
I had just started working , wasn’t 21 or make a great salary. No one would sign for me, so I bought what I could afford , a used 57 Ford Fairlane. By the time I was financially straight i was drafted into the Army to live for slave wages. Finally when I got out and had a good job, instill had no real credit history. I bought another used car. That one exploded and caught fire. Finally I bought a brand new car, the stick six mustang, but I was still paying off the car that exploded. The rest of my life I was going to buy new cars every 3 or 4 years. My wife never understood that. What the hell she always had her daddy’s car, now she had mine. So I took great pride buying a hew car when I felt like it and didn’t consult her. Now I am old and broke, driving a 16 year old car. What the hell I am too old to afford these new cars once again . Life is a bitch! Lol

Very nice car!! I have nearly the same car except mine is a 63' Boxtop 500XL, i put Truespokes on it and I have manual windows. Love the car!
