  • This weekend's project was lowering Cuti's 1963 Ford Fairlane 500. Used a 3'' block kit in the rear, and cut the front coils. Car has a 302 and a T-5 manual trans.

    I love it when nobody dies on the test drive after going Charles Manson on the suspension. But it do have to admit. Had my fingers crossed for Slenderman and a ball of fire. Oh well maybe next video. Rockabilly heaven. Good stuff.

    awesome car! I have a 62 falcon that I swapped in a mildly modded 302 and t5 trans. I made the motor mounts and trans mounts when I first did it. they seem solid just ugly as hell lol

    I dig this car and have my eye on a '64. Could you share how you did the T5 swap? Was it budget parts or maybe a kit? How about the pedals?

    Hi, that does look beastly (ignoring the rusty arches that is :) ) but we have a 58 custom 300 with the original 223, do you think it could sound good with just straight into maybe a flowmaster 40 or (sorry I forgot. The name) the red pipes on yours. By the way ours is just a single exhaust.

    • @GeorgeBonez
      @GeorgeBonez 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +BRAV0 TWO ZER0 Those red pipes are Cherry bombs and you can still get them at any parts store. FYI: Ill tell ya this. If you are running single exhaust you can use one CherryBomb and split into dual exhaust coming out of it and it will sound freakin AWESOME! That was kind-of hard to explain so I hope you understood what I was trying to say. Using a CherryBomb sounds about as close to straight as you can get and the good part is that that CherryBomb will eliminate the wind-down popping!

  • @hotrodray6802
    @hotrodray6802 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Of course you know that since the front springs are arced, that when you take off odd amounts like .5 coil or 1.5 coil that the springs should be swapped right to left.
    If you don't, the reversing the arc might cause the coil springs to break.

    The narrator is funny as hell. I have come back to watch this video many times, and love "the carelessness of youth" theme, cracks me up every time. I have a 64 Fairlane that I cut the front coils while they were still in the car, sounded like a bomb went off, when they let go! Anyway thanks for the entertainment.................

  • @merc6
    @merc6 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    Sounds and looks pretty good for an affordable driver. I am interested in what you have for an exhaust. I have a 65 fairlane sports coupe. 100 % original minus basic maintenance and parts replacement as needed. I want the exhaust to sound a little better and it looks like all you did was replace the factory single muffler with a "glass pack" or cherry bomb. Is that what you have because it sounds nice.

      I've had cars with cut coils and they ride fine if you don't go hauling ass over big bumps. And as far as "old car soul" people have been lowering cars this way since the 50s so....i feel sorry for your stupidity.
