that thing is wild. does it really just hot dump 2 superchargers worth into the motor with no intercooler?

As someone mentioned, this is a single circuit brake master cylinder, drum brakes, probably no power booster. Goes real well, just doesn't stop.🙂🙂

One of the cleanest lines of any of the Fords of that era. Looks to me to me to be a # one car that needs a bit of detailing. If it had the original paint it would be a big plus. My uncle had a '63 Galaxie 500 (not an XL) back when they were new that looked just like this one minus the XL trim. His had no console of course, so his was the "three on the tree"to a 390 cid. I like the way Ford put "THUNDERBIRD" relief into the gold rocker covers. Overall, a great rust free California "black plate". Wonderful!

We had the 59. Seats were too low…driving around in near prone position. These are nice and high.

So very beautiful. These older cars of the late 40s thru 50s are all about the grace of the styling. I never envision myself actually speeding in one of these cars. Just cool enjoying the moment at a slow or moderate pace. Plus, you've got to remember, that's a lot of weight to try brake quickly 😮😢. Big congrats to the owner here!😊
