Gorgeous models. GW prices. Could've done this comprehensive a redesign of Oldmarines instead of Bigmarines, and would still have a steady seller. Picked up a few squads to serve as Chosen models (Catulan Reavers) for my SoH/Black Legion army.

Great great review but I’d don’t get the lack of customisation by GW. You buy two to three boxes of these and your gonna struggle with samey looking clones. They do look gorgeous tho and it really highlights how drab and generic the primaris marines are.
I've been mixing the Forge World upgrades with mine, but they still end up looking the same, and I understand not everyone can afford that. The thing that annoys me is no chain axes, as well as no additional heavy weapons.
Really miss when the SM and CSM went together the same way made it really easy to mix and match armor pieces together

Awesome set of models! Lots of options, all different, very cool. The one firing the bolter and holding the ammo belt is a killer! So simple and yet so cool. Great review, size comparison is a must and a key point of your reviews. 👍🏻 Well done, again!

Bolter guns are the way forward since the new beta Bolter rules came out. Rapid Fire bolt weapons now dealing double shots if the bearer is stationary.
3:57 it actually fit in certain backpacks, which are made for it, I have mine pefectly fitting

I think the premise is that GW are pushing the Combat Patrol box sets. The CSM box in Aus is $98. The Combat Patrol $230 making the saving quite good. I did jump on the Start Collecting box however so I'm good.

It would be nice if we could just have all space marines sized up and be done with it. I was hoping these CSM would match the primaris, and then down the line we just have bigger space marines across the board.

I´ve heard many people advice that separate box CHSM should be build with maximum special/heavy guns on sprue, like using every HB,ML,Melta etc. and then complement the units with more basic shadowspear bolter guys for maximum leverage. Your thoughts ? thank you !

I swore I'd never go back to Games Workshop (and 40K specifically) due to their pricing shenanigans but damn, GW has been knocking it out of the park with some of the sculpts lately. Finally broke down and bought the Dark Imperium set when it went on sale at my local shop...primarily because of the great looking Death Guard units, then grabbed a few boxes of Primaris and more DG (marines+terminators) to flesh things out. At that point, I said screw it, and also bought into Tau...then Shadowspear dropped with the new Chaos Marine sculpts. So had to get that plus the new Vex Machinator, some terminators, Abaddon (and just had to get Guilliman because), the Raptors, Forgefiend, and now waiting for my local shop to get some Havocs. I might even get around to painting all of these in the next couple of years...HOLY CRAP. I think I've developed an addiction. All joking aside, I'm really loving the new Chaos sculpts. My daughter is really excited to help me assemble these and actually get playing.
But yes, GW squad boxes are way overpriced...especially now that GW is scrimping a bit on the weapon options (looking at you Chaos Terminators)...

Are these the same size as the previous versions of space marines? The deathguard seem massive compared to a normal or chaos space marine.
I have watched your deathguard vids and they seem massive compared to old version models from both GW and forgeworld.
BJ kernow Modelling Technically these are not newer versions of the normal space marines. They are chaos space marines and have been corrupted by the powers of chaos so are slightly taller and larger, the death guard ones even more so. The sizes are deliberate as newer loyal space marines have typically been sized the same as the older marines from 10 years ago or so.
Death Guard are usually the largest versions of chaos space marines and therefore are larger than loyal space marines due to the ‘gifts’ Nurgle bestow upon them such as bloated, puss filled bodies which can take more damage (Toughness 5 and feel no pain) compared to the standard loyal space marines. If ALL space marines were the same size then it would be difficult to justify their changes and changes in rules. I like the slight changes and attention to detail GW implement in their ranges to explain this.
If you’re new to 40K then you wouldn’t necessarily notice this at first. One of the benefits of being in the hobby over 20 years and running a 40K channel I guess. Thanks for watching and for your comment.

Question: Does it cost more for creating more detailed sculpts, but out of the same material for the older sculpts?
More detail vs less has no cost difference for mold/material. The only extra cost would be highering the sculptor to do the detail.
these are compatible with the havoc marines. that's why there's no autocannon in these. kind of sucks...but... 2 squads of these 1 of havocs, nice mix
Can these be GW tournament legal if you paint them up as Khorne World.Eaters?
Dave Dogge if you get the transfer sheets it should be legal. It wouldn’t make sense other wise.

In NZ the original Chaos Space Marines were 73 bucks now they're 115 it's absolutely nuts. This final price hike I think for me is the final nail in the coffin it's becoming unsustainable

@Alyn Smith Plague Marines are troops first and foremost (in the Death Guard codex). Yes they are also now an elite choice in the CSM codex but it does not serve to reinforce your point. I would better take the stance that there is way more detail and individuality in the Plague Marine box set than these, furthermore they are bigger.
@@Sup3rSaiy3n nah Warhammer in NZ and Australia is considered to be the most expensive vs Europe, North America and Asia I believe. Yeah they are more than boxes of Plague marines even blight lord terminators. So they retail at GW at 115 the lesser starter set for 40k with Plague Marines vs Primaris clocks in at 120 so they are the equivalent of two armies
@@Sup3rSaiy3n GW also has an embargo that prevents people from NZ and Australia buying products online from stores in the US and Europe because it works out cheaper via the exchange rates. By final price rise this to me is Warhammer becoming far to expensive to paint collect and play
