read the coment at top i did it on my 2002 have to pull dash back and get the box on the right out 2 screws and it will come out it's the blend thats broke that stops air flow.you see the arrow on the control panel it makes the air recirculate in the cab mine was broke good luck!
Man I've done hundreds of interior removals for structural repairs on insurance cars, I ain't gonna lie that kinda work is hard on you. Laying on your head and upside down and everything else. I strip absolutely everything out if it inside and in the engine bay i remove the engine transmission and strip the firewall and any other place they are gonna cut/weld. By safety regulations you can't cut or weld within 12in of anything that's not metal. I been at home with a back injury from the automatic emergency braking malfunction on my new Mercedes work van, I was just driving along and boom it slammed on the brakes outta the blue, tweaked my back and now i gotta pop my middle back every ten minutes or so and I can't hold up my upper body without supporting myself with one hand or Laying on something. Oh I was gonna say some manufacturers make you pull the dash apart and not remove it one piece, sometimes it's two months before I come back for reassembly.
Got a 2002 jeep grand cherokee 4.0 six 2 wheel drive mine has one electric actuator and the has 3 vaccum acuators the blend door on the return air was broke you can buy a new door but it won't come with a control arm you have to make it yourself fixed my a/c works good now FYI hope this helps!!
Don't forget to tape up the steering wheel so it can't turn and damage your clock spring, don't gotta be tape but do something so it don't spin. Also make sure to mark your steering shafts for realignment.
I really appreciate you showing us a thing or 2 and don't mind showing your mistakes. I have one of these that has the other regular ac controls and wonder if you know why it would only be blowing mostly out of the driver side vents? It Changes from defrost to floor but mostly blows on just the driver's side. Weird.
Never had to do a Heater Core on my Jeeps but did change out broken Door Blend Actuators on my 97 & 99. I did have to Flush the Heater Core out & do so now when I change the Antifreeze. Would not blow Hot Air but Blend Doors worked. I take the hoses loose from the engine side of the H. C. lower them so the antifreeze runs out, pour Vanish Toilet Bowl Cleaner in 1 hose ( about 1/3 of the bottle ) then raise & lower the hoses so it works it back in forth flushing from the opposite way the antifreeze travels first. Add water from your house hose if not enough water is in there. It will rise on one side of the hose & lower on the other side. I let it in there a few minutes then back flush it with the house hose turned on about half way. All kinds of shit came out of the core. Then run the hose till clear, do the opposite side the way the H. C. actually flows & your done or check & see if you have good heat. I hope this made sense but it keeps my H. C. clear of crap & I change my AntiFreeze every 4 years. Don't touch the hoses that connect at the H. C. you're only asking for a leak.
I have a 1999 Jeep Cherokee SE that when I turn the defrost on it doesn't go through the defrost I have replaced the door actuator, high and low pressure switches, I also checked to make sure if switch for the defrost door wasn't broken , I've checked vacuum hoses to make sure their isn't any leaks or holes and I haven't had any luck.
Yesss thanks🤘🏽 dex 🤘🏽 Ps do you ever sell any parts? I was thinking around tax time I’ll need a few things if you will sell them like a driver side door some wires and a fender (patriot blue if you have it )
I had a 2010 jeep grand Cherokee that had that go bad in it as well well I believe it was that part and I literally took a 3” wood screw and put it in there to turn it myself and make it work that way lol hey it worked that’s all that mattered in my opinion only thing that sucked was on hot days if the heat was on I’d literally have to move all that shot just to turn the screw to turn off the heat and same thing on cold days have to move all that stuff to turn on the hot air. It was a psi in the ass but it worked ok for the time being lol
Reminds me of having to rip dashes out of old clapped out mitsubishi lancers for an airbag recall. Only payed 1.2 hours total. Boooooy i dont miss those days
MY BUTTON IN MY 04 GC IS ALSO MESSED UP LIKE THE ONE YOUR HOLDING. AND IN MY 04 GC THE ACTUATOR TO CIRCULATE THE ARE INSIDE IS BROKEN AND IT CONSTANTLY PULLS AIR FROM THE OUTSIDE AND IT DOSNT GET COLD LIKE I THINK IT SHOULD AND I LIVE IN FLORIDA SOUTH FLORIDA ITS ALWAYS HOT AS BALLZZZ HERE 😂
YA, UM, I know I'll never attempt that, I'll break more things then I'm trying to fix, put wrong screws in, won't go together right & the dash will squeak or rattle like KRAZY.
Would love to see a video on a 96-98 ZJ Heater Core/Evaporator
One day I will.
Congrats on 100,000 subscribers bud!! Keep up the good work👍🏼
Great video! You should do one that’s shows how to fix weak airflow. Seems I’ve seen it come up a lot too.
Great suggestion!

Hey Dexter I got a question how much do you charge for a NP231j tranfercase for a 95 xj 4.0 ?
For those that don’t know, this is how the dash is installed when the Jeep is built.
Bruh. We need an xj one.
I knowww. One day.

DO you have a heater core video for the XJ?
Do you have a video on a ZJ heater core swap?
Not yet I don’t.
Can you do one of blinker switch in 2000 to 2010 jeeps?
How to replace the blend door control linkage ? on a 2000 jeep Cherokee because the plastic linkage broke, where and what part number is it?
How relevant to an 01 xj is this? As I bypassed the heater core in my Cherokee about 8 years ago and it’s cold riding here in Northern Ohio lol.
Similar but different also. I’ll do video soon!
Yesss thanks🤘🏽 dex 🤘🏽
Ps do you ever sell any parts? I was thinking around tax time I’ll need a few things if you will sell them like a driver side door some wires and a fender (patriot blue if you have it )
Yes he sells part whatever you need for a cherokee. Google Dex jeeps. His business should come up with a phone number you can call also
