@@WelchyYeah, that’s the best thing about Marvel movies. They may use their superhuman abilities throughout, but the story is usually not about those abilities. They don’t just take one element, turn it up to 11, and ignore the rest. Other than all the running from machine gun rounds, the action and combat scenes felt so tightly choreographed, there aren’t people standing back, patiently taking their turn to 1-on-1 the hero, they don’t just stand still and let the opponent do an elaborate somersault attack and junk; they’re actively fighting. The reason he’s not as old as Peggy is because Hydra would wipe his mind and keep him on ice until they could use him for a mission. Once that mission was accomplished, wipe, freeze, and repeat. It is also implied a little in this movie, more so in future ones, that one of the main reasons Hydra didn’t just brainwash Bucky and use him as much as they wanted was because his brain (helped by a Super Soldier Serum that included an increased healing factor) would recover from the brainwashing much faster than anticipated and he would start remembering things, Steve usually being first, and they would have to wipe him and start all over again. The title actually has a double meaning. Yes, it references Bucky, but the term "winter soldier" actually goes back to Thomas Paine, an 18th century writer who supported the American Revolution. Such a good film. Yes Fury’s line about “last time I trusted someone I lost an eye” is so stupid in retrospect, I love it. Fun facts about the film though: Chris didn’t have a body double for his running scenes due to his back being so flat, he just had to run the entire time because no double could mimic his posture. Chris and Sebastian’s hand-to-hand combat had to be choreographed to dance beats since Chris works best learning through dance. @@RhetoricalThrill She's not alone. The MCU missed a great opportunity when it shifted to what they perceived as audience pleasing formula. Humor that should have been particular to certain characters gets globed onto ever character because it brings in the $$$. All the movies have a sameness to them instead of giving each movie it's own unique spin. Hitchcock vs Kubrick. It no longer feels authentic and the box office shows the audience has grown bored of the formula. It's a shame because it IS possible to make great movies with these beloved characters. If it was only a small minority of online people the box office would say differently.
Ngl even though I watch every film fondly and love most of them it kinda lost its charm on me after Civil War (and Endgame was a good one) I only continue to watch a few of them bc it was kinda a "tradition" thing I started with my Dad. We bonded with watching superheros, specifically Marvel.

After the first Avengers movie, Captain America, Iron Man, and Thor all had movies featuring high level threats that you would think would have gotten the other Avengers involved. MCU movies are my favourite type of movies simply because of how different they are. They all fit the genre of superhero movie but that isnt their main genre at all. Like, the tonal difference between Iron Man, Captain America and later MCU movies (no spoilers) really shows why they reach such a big audience. There's atleast one movie you'll enjoy. I also find that the 'Avengers' movies blend these genres together well enough, so no one feels out of character or out of place in the movie. (I still need to watch Guardians 3 and Black Panther 2, so idk if this holds up currently though).

This is one of the only pieces of deeper marvel lore I know, but the material Cap's shield is made of absorbs kinetic energy, so it's literally the best thing to make a shield out of, or armor I guess
20:56 Black Widow used one of her own stun weapons to electrocute herself (since she knows it isn't enough to kill her, only knock her out) and short circuit the Hydra badge on her shirt that killed the other people. She did that to stop the Hydra member from having leverage (her life) over Nick Fury. Once Black Widow broke the Hydra badge, Nick Fury was able to shoot the enemy. Since you were wondering why she didn't die - she didn't get hurt by the Hydra weapon, just passed out from electrocuting herself. Think you missed what was happening in the scene so wanted to clarify.
Natasha didn't die because by activating the little Widow stinger, she short-circuited the Hydra thingy that all the World Security Council people were wearing.

I'm very glad that you're on this little MCU journey through Marvel's best movies. I really hope that you'll eventually react to Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame. But before we get to those two, there are still some important (and more especially, good) films that you should watch if we ever get to that point. Captain America: The Winter Soldier is one of the two movies that should usually be watched before you react to Captain America: Civil War, the next and, currently, last installment of the Captain America series, until the release of Captain America: Brave New World some time in 2024 (as long as the film doesn't get delayed). Although, Falcon is now the new Captain America, so Civil War is the last CA installment with Steve Rogers as Captain America, and yes, you were correct in saying that Falcon is the new Captain America. In fact, if you can believe it, Civil War is even better than The Winter Soldier, which places the film at third of the top 3 MCU projects, with the second being Spider-Man: No Way Home, and the highest rated Marvel film being Avengers: Endgame. Anyways, as I was saying, there's a second film to watch after The Winter Soldier that is heavily important to the events of Civil War, Avengers: Age of Ultron, the second Avengers film. I might've lied when I said that you got to watch some especially good films before you get to Infinity War and Endgame since Age of Ultron is the lowest rated Avengers film. So, it's pretty much up to you if you'd like to make a reaction to the film. Even if you don't make any video, I'd still HIGHLY reccommend watching it either way. I'm obviously not gonna give any spoilers but if The Winter Soldier was the movie for Captain America, then Age of Ultron was the movie for Iron Man (it's no spoiler in saying that Iron Man, as well as other superheroes, appear in Civil War). Both of these films heavily affected these respective characters to turn them into the opposite of what you'd expect to see from them in Civil War. So, even though Age of Ultron isn't the best, it's still *VERY* important to understanding Civil War and future Avengers films. It also helps with the introduction of new characters, it develops a certain part from the first Avengers film, and it picks up from the post-credits scene you saw with the Scarlet Witch. It's funny to see that you've reacted to The Winter Soldier and you said that you'll also watch Guardians of the Galaxy, because I recommended those two films in my previous comment on your Avengers reaction video. I guess if u wanna watch through the MCU by just reacting to the best films they got, it's not that big of a surprise that those two films are what everyone else seems to have recommended. So, I'm glad that I've got the same recommendations as everyone else. There's not really much more to talk about, as I can continue to recommend a couple more movies in your future MCU reaction videos.

I’ve recently changed the way I rate movies. I’ve become a bit harsher and have discovered where my preferences lie. As a result, almost every MCU movie which was previously a 10/10 in my mind has been bumped to a lower score like an 8 or 9
EXCEPT the Winter Soldier. This movie is so good that it keeps this prestigious rating. I think that says a lot for how I feel about this movie
Bucky catching Caps shield is one of the coldest moments in Marvel. Prove me wrong. 👇🏼
This is one of my favs, cuz *god* that fight choreo
"who's your husband?! It better not be fondue guy"
I be like dude, the fondue guy is Tony Starks dad, Howard Stark.
5:42 emotional support Rubiks cube
You had two end credit seen. One with Bucky dressed up undercover going to the museum
I just found your channel and OMG I LOVE YOUR PERSONALITY! this is my fav movie so I had to watch when it came up on my feed and it made me so happy! I also love how Bucky’s your favorite, he’s mine too! ❤
Listen everything isn’t as perfect as this, but it’s a fun ride & just exciting to see comic books come to life for some of us. Loving this mcu journey, Can’t wait to keep following along!
The only sad thing about watching the good MCU movies is knowing how bad they fall apart down the line...
Thank goodness you're part of a small minority of online people that didn't enjoy these new phases
🤣🤣🤣
@@RhetoricalThrill She's not alone. The MCU missed a great opportunity when it shifted to what they perceived as audience pleasing formula. Humor that should have been particular to certain characters gets globed onto ever character because it brings in the $$$. All the movies have a sameness to them instead of giving each movie it's own unique spin. Hitchcock vs Kubrick. It no longer feels authentic and the box office shows the audience has grown bored of the formula. It's a shame because it IS possible to make great movies with these beloved characters. If it was only a small minority of online people the box office would say differently.
Ngl even though I watch every film fondly and love most of them it kinda lost its charm on me after Civil War (and Endgame was a good one)
I only continue to watch a few of them bc it was kinda a "tradition" thing I started with my Dad. We bonded with watching superheros, specifically Marvel.
@@Iletyoulive People that hate the new phases are the majority not minority. Every show and movie's comment section is filled with people with throwing tantrums and complaining at the smallest things.
11:55 "I never thought a Marvel movie would have this much depth"
Well they do have over 80 years worth of comic storylines and worlbuilding to draw on...
Yeah and some of the ones I’ve seen and the new ones people have seen are just ain’t it which is saddening 😕
The elevator fight was the first thing they worked on. They practiced the fight choreography for several weeks prior to filming. It was both difficult and exhausting but also well worth it.
20:21 “that sucks, fuck you Cap” made me properly laugh out loud hahaha
My guy suggested Howard Stark was Peggys husband lol
Other than Guardians of the Galaxy, Captain America has the best trilogy in the MCU imo. I highly recommend you to watch Civil War as well.
9:39 the shield absorbs and redirects kinetic energy, the is a catch all for ignoring physics
"I love how this sheild just does not take the laws of physics into account"
You and this universes Peter would get on very well lol
Fun Fact: The device Fury used to escape the car was created by Fitz, a character from the show Agents of Shield. They use the same device in the show.
This was when the movies and Agents of Shield were all there were when it came to the MCU. I miss this era of the MCU. The whole thing felt more cozy and well put-together. 😔
Bucky is my favourite male character in the entire mcu (Wanda's my queen) I just love his character development and Sebastian Stan did such a good job bringing the character's anguish and feelings to life.
Best way to come home after a long day!! Many thanks @Welchy
7:45 me smirking....
Thing about vibranium is that it absorbs all energy that hits it. When Cap lands on his shield, he doesn't feel the impact at all.
The material of what the shield is made can absorb any impact, so that's why he wasn't damaged when he hit the ground
You didn't see the other ending marvel has now been doing two secret endings
One of the best MCU films even now for a reason ❤
That being said, I am now curious about Civil War 👀
(No rush if u haven’t seen it since the MCU needs time to get thru lol)
After the first Avengers movie, Captain America, Iron Man, and Thor all had movies featuring high level threats that you would think would have gotten the other Avengers involved. The best way to explain why they don't is because perhaps all three movies were orruring around the same time, making the Avengers unavailable to help each other
this is in my top 5 favorite MCU movies !! Captain America Civil War is my fav (and all of these characters are in it too👀) but also Bucky is my absolute FAVORITE character in the entire MCU and i hope you continue to love him as a character because he constantly gets even better
You know what's interesting about the US Government hiring German Scientists after WW II in this movie? It actually happened. NASA hired German Scientists when the Space Race/The Cold War against Russia was going on.
"this is so fucked I love this so much" i died 😭😭😭
This and GOTG, came out same year and both are EXCELLENT! A true high point in the MCU.
Not you talking over the answers to the questions you were making 😂😂
He puts the flash drive in the vending machine because he doesn't want to take it to SHIELD headquarters where they could find it and take it away from him, and he can't ditch Rumlow and the guys without arousing everyone's suspicions. So he's got to find a hiding place right away, within arms' reach of where he's already standing, and the inside of the vending machine is the only place.
21:05 the other leaders died because the devices killed them, she electrocuted herself to disable the device at the same time

I've watched so many of your videos that every time I want a character to die I hear your voice shouting "Death! I want death! " 😂 Thanks for this video! 😊
this and civil war gotta be my fav mcu movies, the plot + amount of hot people is unmatched
The elevator fight was the first thing they filmed. They practiced the fight choreography for several weeks prior to filming. It was that difficult but also well worth it.
I'm glad he already knows about wanda at the end
Can't keep up with all the MCU movies...there are just too many 😂 But i like the ones i've watched
Ahahah I feel ya on that
This is one of the only pieces of deeper marvel lore I know, but the material Cap's shield is made of absorbs kinetic energy, so it's literally the best thing to make a shield out of, or armor I guess
love ya hair and i cant wait for your next vid :)
Widow used the same gadget she used earlier on Bucky to kill the electric device
I love your videos Welchy!! This video made my day. This movie has always been my favorite one of all the MCU movies. I got so happy when i saw that you made a video reacting to this movie. i love your reactions to the movie.
I loved Bucky in the first captian america movie and his reunion with steve broke my heart the first time i saw it. it still breaks my heart to this day. I got so happy when i saw Bucky again in this movie. Bucky is one of my favorite character ever in the MCU. I love the plot, the action, the costumes and the jokes in this movie. I just love this so much. Thank you so much for doing this video and i hope you have a great day/night.
P.S: sorry if it is any grammer mistakes, english is not my first language.
Ayy thank ya :D
This was HILARIOUS... PLEASE DO MORE !!! 👏👏👏👏
It has a lot of bangers, even the dookie’s are gilded
This is one of my favourite MCU movies
"Fondue Guy" is Howard Stark - Tony Stark's Dad. 😀
You would definitely love Civil War. You should watch that next
So Nick Fury who got SHOT AT has a working air conditioning, but i have had to survive the last 5 summers without? Man, that's unfair XD
10:58 my question exactly. I don’t ship them at all but if black window asks you this the only right answer is husband 😂
That moment when you realize Scarlett Johansson is married to comedian Colin Jost.
Fury is so dramatic "Last time I trusted someone I lost an eye" absolute bull It was an alien cat that scratched him when he got too close I'm pretty sure he still owns it 😭
Fyi, there's a show called Agents of Shield. The first season is canon, and it's meant to lead up to this movie, with this movie releasing exactly between episodes 16 and 17. As for the other seasons, not sure if they're canon or not.
& they all can’t be the same because in our world we’re not all the same, towns and city’s aren’t all the same. We all experience different things in each state, so I appreciate the different stories and different ways of telling them.
Bucky already had the super soldier serum before he fell
*MR. FONDUE*🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
My absolute favorite MCU film! :)
Also, it's likely been mentioned, but there is a second post-credit scene at the very end. Highly recommended.
There was another deleted scene at the very end of the credits, not sure if you watched it but it shows Bucky going to the museum and learning about his history.
The best ones are yet to come
i love this film the jokes are good and the story is good and i actually feel something when watching it, when watching later mcu content i don't feel as much if anything, the dialogue in this carry's a lot of emotion in parts
Thank you for this reaction, Welchy!
Yes, the man called Howard STARK is the father of Tony STARK, as is know since the first Iron Man movie xDD
There's one more end credit scene.
6:48 best reaction💀
Great reaction. Captain America: Civil War is another banger! 👏🏾
Ah yes,, daddy Bucky. And daddy Sam. Absolutely love them.
There’s one more scene at the end of the credits
Highly recommend Guardians of the Galaxy it's easily one of the best MCU movies and anyone can watch it and have a great time
For MCU, Guardians is #1 in my book
Welchy if your invested in steve and buckys story, may in interest you in Cap 3 Civil war *opens shady coat presenting the whole mcu collection
I feel like you *have* to watch Civil War after this 😊
There's a reason why this is highly regarded as one of the best MCU movies.
Welchy: *wants Black Widow to not be with Hawkeye*
Me: just you wait until you watch Age of Ultron.
First time watching your video, and it took me until 19:30 to notice heterochromia ._.
noooo there's another post credit scene at the end i can't believe you didn't watch it 😭
