You can change from Hz to thermostat mode by going to the Hz setting and pressing the settings and up buttons at the same time. Then you can set desired temperature. The heater will lower fan rpm and use less fuel when that temperature is reached.
I got one for my 6x10 trailer 1.5 years ago. Works like a champ 👍. Issues I've had. I once tow my trailer while it's snowing and snow got into the air intake. So I had to open it up and clean the combustion chamber. I insolated my trailer so if I use it when outside is above 5C, the lowest heat out put will keep raising the temperature so I have to manually shut it off every 4-5 hrs. On the bright side, it has no issue keep inside temp 23C while outside is -30C. Very happy with the purchase. I got it for $250 Canadian. I don't mind buy 5 of this that will out last one webasto. I see years of good service with my current one.
Mounted one in my single car garage, it keeps it around 55°F even when outside temps hit single digits and only costs $40 in fuel for the entire winter
I love your video. Excellent information on a topic I am researching, AND you do not exhibit that sickness which results in so much footage of scary, facial closeups. Keep up the good work.
We have one in our showman wagon and it heats it great. The floor consists of old floor boards between the liv8ng space and outside. We have it on half wack all night and it's really warm. The noise dosent bother which is great. It dosent use much fuel or electric as well
These style of heaters have been used in Semi Trucks for a quite a while but they are not cheap. This one is from China and is cheap but, seems to work exactly like the Webasco heater's I have used in the past.
The kit is very comprehensive but the Chinglish manual needs some competent editing - in particular it did not indicate which was the exhaust and which the combustion air inlet. As they are both the same diameter that could be a problem.

Also... anyone happen to know if the main heat unit needs to be mounted in one specific direction or one specific orientation or is it possible to mount the main heating unit in different positions... such as on its side, vertical or maybe upside down with the two mid-center pipes pointing up towards the sky(?)
Just so you know ,when it’s in the hertz mode (p1-5) if you press the settings and up button at the same time it goes to temp mode so you can dial in the temp you want.

Get the shop good and warm and by then the drum of whatever would be warm enough to carry through the night. I recently bought a couple but still haven't fired one up yet :-/
I was thinking the same thing.. but I was kinda thinking along the lines of taking it a step further and running coiled tube carrying the exhaust through a barrel then outside. Then run a line off the barrel with a low volume pump in line to a car radiator with a fan behind it then back to the top of the barrel. Bottom line is you wanna maximize the efficiency of the fuel being burned. You could offset the electricity cost with a small solar set up. I'm betting isolating the fuel pump too would have helped. Also this a 2kw heater? I'm really new to these heater and will be doing my homework. I'm angling towards a cheap Chinese heater that is small. Something that would just take the chill out of the air in a mini van or a tent.
very interesting idea. I'm a tuck mechanic and these heaters are great when used with care, shouldn't be a problem for you but intake restrictions and lack of use kills them.

With the standard issue hard-sided nylon hose (prolly less than 2/16" inner diameter) the fuel pump injects or pulses fuel. With soft-sided larger volume fuel hose prolly 3/16"), the pump dribbles fuel out of the end. Likely to throw errors sooner or later. See John McKay videos for thorough testing and info. How weather resistant are they? I want to get one for my garage but don't want the unit inside. I want to put a T on the output and drill 2 holes one on either side of the garage and leave the whole unit outside.
