He's in his hut now, we heard someone said "Delicious in dungeon" and thirty minutes later we heard him say "Eating Monsters is genius!" We're now fearing he's going to eat monsters.
Like maybe an actual kitchen for larger buffs before you start the run, maybe have them air balloon in a full dish as some upgrade you could maybe get later, honestly would just be fun if they purely did that because everyone is complaining about the lack of kitties cooking delectable meals about.
Tbf I did see a part of base camp in the beta that could be a proper kitchen, so you never know, we might get a proper three-course served to us after all.
Honestly I think it’d be kinda cool if some of the monsters along with dropping crafting materials also dropped stuff to cook with that gave out random buffs
Pure speculation on my part here, but it looks like the idea is that you can cook a meal wherever you want with the grill, or you can go to the kitchen in the base camp. Same thing is true with quests and Alma following you in the field, and how you aren't necessarily forced to do the sort-of-but-not-really-an-expedition style of quest management if you don't want to, you can just post the quest in the tent area

The Handler was nice, but people thought she didn’t do anything because she does basically everything that didn’t involve fighting. She was basically a squire with how much stuff she was doing in the background to make sure things went smoothly. They just needed to do a better job of showing all the stuff she does.

That was the core issue with her, everything she did was basically secretary work every other questie in every other game did already and handled just fine while the game insisted only this one cooky girl could possibly take on your workload, or prep work she supposedly always does for you but doesn't actually show in any tangible way (such as organizing your item box, when literally all of the organizing and sorting that happens there is being handled by the player), and yet every step of the way she would yap about being this unbeatable team despite her being borderline invisible outside of cutscenes or NPCs informing us what a good job she's doing while not impacting your gameplay experience at all, not even compared to older games. Seeing Alma follow you a safe distance away, taking notes when you hunt something, making observations and being genuinely helpful by acting as a tagalong quest receptionist immediately makes me appreciate her more. I could do without her repeatedly backseating on how you can carve small monsters as well, but a follower NPC trying to be helpful and just coming across as repetitive is at least somewhat endearing.
