I have a theory. The reason why your Hunter doesn't shout "So tasty!" in a dangerous or insecure location is because they don't want to give away the location of the camp to large monsters that might want to destroy it. And the reason they don't say it in the interim camp is because they don't want to share.

If you think about it, only in a secluded but completely safe area can you have the perfect focus to create the perfect steak. No monsters or other hunters/villagers to distract you, only you, the steak, your noisy cat buddy and this lady that keeps following you. Optimal conditions.

I'd guess some of the more territorial monsters would view your Portable Camps located on risky zone as disturbance to their turf and would try to destroy it if left unchecked

I imagine it probably has something to do with your hunter being aware of their surroundings, as not to yell at the top of their lungs and alert the nearby wildlife?

I started with this MH so there's a lot of nostalgia for me there and it's a nice throw back just for that and just makes me want to turn on my Wii and get some good old under water hunts going! You know I did the same thing and quit after a day. I couldn’t find it I didn’t understand how to trigger it and on the last day. As I was hunting endemic life, I made the trip to that camp. And it happened. I believed that I had hallucinated it. I shadowplayed it back and I was stupefied. To the “Tasty” hunters. You are not crazy.
The closest I get is Alma say something like "way to go grillmaster!" for a 12x well-done steak(not exact quote but it something about praising hunter as a grillmaster) which I think comes from japanese version in previous MH game
There is another safe camp location I found, the blue crystal caverns towards the top of the map, near the base camp. Good to know safe camps are the condition to trigger it, well done!

I have personally spent probably hours just cooking meat trying to get the god damn shoutout of "So tasty!" , unfortunately I could not find the part in the live stream where they actually cooked the perfect steak before beta weekend ended 😭 I am glad that more people were bothered by this too lol.

To save you watching 16 minutes, here is the TLDR: To get the "So Tasty" you need to be in a safe area of a portable camp. Portable camp near 14. Then you cook a perfect char and you get it in English with a male voice

I kinda started this series few months ago with Stories 1, then on to Stories 2 RPG. I love those games and am currently working through the 2nd Elders Trials grind on Story 2. After experiencing the beta i will say im becoming a fan of MH. That beta experience was out of this world during weather changes. I expect millions of players around the world will be launching Wilds on day one, for sure! Well, i got Rise on sale and could not be happier gaming. I SO cannot wait for Story 3 rpg

I found the cheese ingredient in the Kunafa Village (all food look tasty in the game, but man, the cheeze), looked for all capturalble wild life, etc. I was a bit sad they changed the song of cooking, but could live with it, but I did not notice the lack of ''so tasty'' Also, there were other safe camps, you just missed them.

Really funny to me because that was the only place i grilled meat in the beta(i didn't do much grilling), so i did not realize any of the drama surrounding the voice line until i started seeing some videos about people not being able to get it.
I did the exact same thing as you, but I gave up and just looked for cool, off the beaten path, spots... and went to all of the safe areas after giving up the hunt for "so tasty." I actually met the conditions... but didn't cook.
This new meat minigame is the hardest they've made by far imo. On pc at least I could only get that last cut right ONCE. I'm glad the "so tasty!" is still there though even though it's so specific
Huh, interesting. I got the so tasty sound myself when I managed to get the timing right for the first time. All this time I thought it was just a matter of timing and didnt think much of it. Your video made me realize how lucky I was - because I was indeed cooking the meat near a tent (it was a different camp though!)

Near the highest area in the map, there’s an outcrop of a huge amethyst or fulgurites cave where only a Seikret can go that has a safe camp.
