    Love how easy people make it look. And not incredibly painful and not super easy.

      @@nanobot81 it's my second hand gun the first being a sccy cpx1 I think and that thing keep failing to feed so I sold that off and got a bunch of self defense rounds too. The SD9VE fits a lot better in my hands and shoots pretty accurately.

      @@nanobot81 I picked one up for $175 in 2017. Got lucky and found a website that had one on sale while S&W was offering a rebate ontop. I enjoy this gun. I'm not too happy about there not being a thumb safety, but it isn't the end of the world. As long as I keep it oiled I can put just about anything through it.
      I highly recommend looking into a micro conversion kit. It made this gun the most fun thing I've ever shot.
      I've only added one thing so far which is a Talon rubberized grip. Worth it. My next mod is an Apex trigger kit. The trigger pull is the biggest complaint with this gun from what I've read, which I completely agree with. The apex kit lessons the travel and the weight of the pull.

    Should i wear gloves or is this not super toxic oil? I just purchased this gun, my first one. Awesome gun. I have about 150 rds through it but no cleaning yet. I think next time i shoot, im gonna clean and lube.
    Also. Is it bad to take it apart and put it back if not cleaning and lubing? Ive got good practice stripping it down now, haha. Thanks for the great video

      Connor Nielsen. It’s not hard on the pistol at all to disassemble it. As for the lube, you can wear gloves if you have reactions to petroleum products, but if not, then it not necessary. Just wash your hands after cleaning and lubing your pistol. I use FrogLube on mine and it’s nontoxic, so no worries at all there.

      I assume you are referring to the recoil spring assembly. I replaced all of my recoil spring assemblies on my pistols that have plastic guide rods with stainless steel captured guide rod assemblies. Galloway Precision is a good source for these.

    • @gunsgains3708

      TANORA SHACK completely up to you. I normally spray my guns down with clp or ballistol when I get done at the range and wipe them down really quick. Then I will deep clean every 1000 rounds or so

    Is clp gun oil ? Whats the difference

    • @gunsgains3708
      @gunsgains3708  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Shae Chavis clp stands for cleaner lubricant protectant so it will clean and lube firearms. Where as gun oil will only lube

    • @hoppahaole3155
      @hoppahaole3155 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It was probably enough lube when brushed with the clp. Just brush on and wipe off good enough, the lube at end of video most likely not needed. Clp is Cleaner - Lubricant - Preservative. I am guilty also but lubing should only be enough to leave a residue, no lube should be pooling. People complain about lube seeping, it's because they used too much. I keep mine pretty dry. No problems ever.

      Many gun enthusiasts just use plain old 20w oil(synthetic or regular) but if this oil is used, I prefer to use a cleaner first(such as Gun Scrubber) or just CLP which is a cleaner and a libricant.

    • @SauerDiesel
      @SauerDiesel ปีที่แล้ว

      Whatever you use keep it out of the striker channel. Nothing inherently wrong with CLP--I wouldn't recommend applying an abundance. Just my opinion but as far as lube, Otis Dry Lube is the bee's knees.

      That happened to me once when the spring wore down the guide rod(plastic) and jumped the teat. I was finally able toshake and partially rack the slide and get to come off. I replaced the captured guide rod and spring assembly with a stainless steel one from galloway precision.

  • @warrenosborne1748
    @warrenosborne1748 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    People worry about dry firing to unlock side that it might hurt pin lol and I think why the hell would s&w make a design that the only way you can clean it is damn on the pin a lil first to be able to field strip it. IT'S SAFE PEOPLE! THEY KNOW WHAT'S UP CAUSE THEY MADE IT 👍

    • @benworkman177
      @benworkman177 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mostly this applies to rimfire pistols which potentially damage the firing pin (or rimfire rifles for that matter.)
