Yeah, i've been using it for years solely for recording, but with the possibilities of 11pro, one might have to consider cubase more as an instrument (with a learning curve similar to that). totally love it!

I prefer playing my chords on the keyboard, but I DID learn something new: I had never thought of having Cubase analyze and identify the chords I had played into a MIDI track. Cool!

You are a genious in teaching, your vids help out so much! In my opinion the discussion of how computers kill (rock-)music is totally overcome. You clearly showcase that the DAW is a real instrument nowadays and puts people in place of enyoing the process of making music without the restriction of expensive gear or some "magical expert knowledge only for inaugurated". Handmade music will not die because of computers, but it tremendously helps the lesser talented (like me) to get their stuff going. Awesome Work, Man!!!

Guys like this on TH-cam can show you more in 10 mins then a year or a few at college. I was using cubase for years in the early 2000s then had kids and got back in to it probs like last year. I went to college and it just couldn't keep me entertained as at the time I was more active at home then I was in a class at college. I ended up dropping out (shock). But this last year just from youtube alone and dedicating lots of time I finally get somewhere still lots to do but definitely improving. 👍🏾

    Excellent video, Dom.
Now that I have my MODX and as soon as I have it set up with the three-tier stand (ordered from Sweetwater, just waiting on them to get restocked so they can send it my way) and as soon as I have another computer (or laptop) for the DAW, you bet I’ll be taking these ideas and suggestions in this video to heart.
(My MODX is temporarily set up on the box t came in, which is in turn on the boxes for the monitors)

I also use the chord track function if I need chords that are in harmony with a bass sequence. You can use the scale function in chord track to determine the right notes of your chords when you select "chords" in the midi editor pull down menu and have them in tune with your bassline. Very easy. Especially when the notes in the editor turn grey or red to let you know of the notes of your chord are in the same scale as your bassline or sequence.
You should do a video about that. Just create a 4-note bass sequence in 1/4 with retrologue and use chord track to set the scales at each bar and then use the midi editor for your chord progression to make them sound in harmony.
    Nice video.
I love your channel. Helps me a lot.
    Cheers!
