I think Steinberg has made one of their best decisions in hiring a musician to demonstrate how cool their software is. Dom is such a great instructor. Loving all of his videos.
If people still think there's is a better 1-stop DAW then Cubase, then show me. Because nothing beats Cubase, not by a 100 miles. Dom, you are the MAN. Your video's are truly inspiring and, just like the official Cubase channel itself, they teach me new stuff every time. So thank you!
Dom I am a composer, singer and vocal coach from India.. You are doing our job so easier by sharing your knowledge.. Will be ever thankful to you.. May God bless you always 🙏🙏🙏🙏
I've worked in music performance and production for nearly 40 years and used Cubase extensively for over 20 of those, but I'm still learning so much from Dom's videos. As well as being informative they're very well put together and enjoyable to watch. These videos are such a great resource and he's a great ambassador and tutor for Steinberg. His other product and production videos are not too shabby either. Bravo Dom!
Second that Ian, I've been on Cubase since it was first released in 1989 (and never stopped using it since) and Dom shows me that I'm still not done learning about it. Many many thanks Dom!
from my own point of view...i'd always had cubase from around 2007...usually cracks....but ableton was my own....around '19 i bought cubase 10 (i think), but had dongle issues (now resolved)....but still ableton was the main...however last year i began to focus more on cubase and learn it ...almost in parallel with Studio One....it seems Cubase is winning me over. love studio one, ableton is cool, but cubase is the whole 9 yards...dom's enthusiasm is a huge part becasue there's so much content...there are other great instructor's out there, but his relentless content provision matches the thirst either for a) a new user, or b) someone who is transitioning.
Finally I've found you NEO. Thanks for investing your time into this. Your skills in combination with Cubase helps me a lot to understand this great program. Very well presented. Respect.
Thanks, Dom. Your musicality, nerdiness and enthusiasm is out of this world. Whenever I want to learn something new in Cubase I find myself scrolling through your content. :-)
Dom, thanks for the explanation. French songwriter, but former teacher in a completely different field, I appreciate the pedagogy and the clarity of your explanations... Bravo, FXL Dom, merci pour des explications. Auteur compositeur Français, mais ancien professeur dans un tout autre domaine, j'apprécie la pédagogie et la clarté de vos explications... Bravo, FXL
Hi Dom. This video was awesome. My name is Orrin. I live in the U.S. I watch a lot of your videos. I wrote every detail in this video down and I’m going to try out everything you said. I hope my song turns out as good as this one. Keep making wonderful videos like this one. Thank you so much for your knowledge and you excitement. You truly motivate me to make better music. Have a wonderful day.
You are my number one Dom..You take your time that make a lot of sense to your students..Great instructor. Steinberg made the BEST decisions..Thanks Dom..
Dom I have been following your channel and the teachings. You are a born teacher who converted me to Cubase and Yamaha enthusiast (I don't consider myself as professional yet). Every day I try to add in my learnings in my composition that I have learned from your teachings. Vocal harmony is a complicated territory but you made it so simple. Your passion and excitement make me go do it.
You know I love everything with cubase. But this is one of the functions I use daily, and LOVE! For me it saves hours and hours of trying to find the "right" arrangements. Then when I'm done I just use the generated voices as a guide that I then sing after. A good idea for future updates would be an option to actually be able to randomly time shift the generated files. It took me a while to try that myself. You Rock!
Thank you, Dom! I might what to record backing vocals, but I have a problem with music theory and I can't always figure out where the big third is and where the small one is. And then when I know the chords of my song, it turns out that I can create back vocals with a couple of clicks! I didn't realize before how cool Cubase is! The only minus of Cubase is that it not so intuitive, and without guides like yours not so easy to do something.
Man you need not only likes but hugsss, prayers,,, love respect...... Thanks alot Dom for be available for everyone to share wonderful ideas... God bless you
Fab info that I will use a lot, even though I generally sing all of my own harmonies, a lot of what you show here is still relevant. And it's a great tool for experimenting. I love that I always learn something from you, whatever the topic!!! Thanks Dom. 😁
Bravooo!!!!.... I love it!!!... Today I'm working in a project with vocals and just randomly your video show up when I opened my navigator. I'll try it out ...Cheers!!!
Cubase is incredibly powerful! Just discovered this tutorial today and immediately went to my home-studio and applied what you explain: really funny, even if "to be used with caution"!
thank you so much Dom for this tutorial that is worth gold This CUBASE function seemed brilliant to me but I thought it unnatural now with these tips it becomes for me a powerful tool to work with voices compliments for your tutorials of the best on TH-cam
As soon as i get notification from dom .. i,m like yeah i m gonna get something awesome to work on cubase today :) thank you dom you have helped me alot.. while creating harmonies i always tried using delay for 1 mili second not more than that. now i,m confident to play around it.. but thanks for teaching the easiest way .. i always use to duplicate tracks for harmonies go to vari audio change the pitch ..then adjust everything .. ufff.. most of the techniques i learnt today are new :) :)
You’re amazing Dom. I’ve been using Cubase for 4 years, but I think I learned the most for the past week after subscribing to your channel. Respect from the ROK bro
Dom should be Steinberg's, VP Marketing. But I think that would take the fun out of it? I just bought Cubase Pro 11 and a suite of Steinberg hardware and other software, and I don't think I would have bought it, if it wasn't for the big smile and evil gleam in Dom's eyes when he shows you his tricks. Dom your energy and charisma permeates and I think we all feel the vibes. Much love. Keep these enlightening video snippets coming!
This is the best channel of cubase tutorials that I have seen, I started the production with cubase after a year I changed to studio one after seeing the news that version 10.5 brought and discovering this channel makes me want to change back
For those who want to use the main mentioned functionality with the existing chords in a song you are working with, but don't know which chords these are (or you just want to "borror" them for your track), you can use Yamaha Chord Tracker App (ISO & Android) and its free. This will take ANY song and break down the chords the song is using. Also, the delay tip, is great for using with a single instrument you do not have a double take and you want to have a counter instance paned in the mix eg a guitar. This is what I love about Dom's videos, they are full of side-tricks. One last thing, I have the Waves Harmony, and it is a joy to work with, Dom did a review and its out of this world, but knowing how to work with harmonies using native power in Cubase I feel it gives you more (different should I say?) flexibility and makes you undeniably a better mixer. Great video, thank you Dom ❤ p.s. Adding the harmonies voices to a group and using a Quadrafuzz (a preset for background or your own sauce subject to genre) does please my ears a little more in most cases.
Another fab tutorial Dom. I agree with other comments below, Great enthusiasm. I now go to your vids 1st for Cubase ? Others tend to use a lot of keyboard shortcuts ,so one cannot follow the processes on screen
Just working on a choir Christmas carol. We didn't really get any decent harmonies recorded but this technique will work beautifully to generate them from the many individual tracks we have. Cheers.
That is some serious Cubase powerhouse skills there! Thank you so much for showing the details. Really looking forward to using this in my projects ... wow!
I watched many cubase videos while testing the demo version of cubase and still wasn't sure which DAW to go with. This video is outstanding and made me buy the product (and also subscribe your channel). Thanks a lot!
Clearly great ! And of course with the power of variaudio you can then custom each note with the colouring function saying if you still are in the chord or the scale. I think Chord track + harmony + variaudio really make the difference compared to other daws.
Great tips here! I wasn't aware Cubase did this. I actually love the Vocoder like sound it initially produces before you humanize it. Also, I need some of those giant headphones.
I so love your Videos, the best of the best ,I am new to Cubase and I am learning so so much ! You have so much Love and that is really coming trough in your Videos thank you so much
Extraordinaire !
This is so knowledgeable and Pro content, Loved it. My singer doesn't have much dynamics in his voice, It's gonna create a massive difference. Thanks a lot.
I would like to see how you would approach taking a track of vocal samples where the phrases don’t fit 1 second intervals very well as stand alone; taking them and adjusting them to fit so they can match to corresponding keys. The pitch shift doesn’t let you freely move the audio clips left and right (from my understanding)
I think Steinberg has made one of their best decisions in hiring a musician to demonstrate how cool their software is. Dom is such a great instructor. Loving all of his videos.
Totally agree!
I just LOVE Dom’s enthusiasm. He explains things so well and so clearly. This is a great example of it. He is a gifted teacher.
I think he's an asset for Steinberg. They must not lose him.
EXACTLY I REALLY ENJOY ALL HIS VIDEOS!!
Exactly! His videos has taught me so much, I am new to cubase and learning very much as I go, but also alot from these videos!
Hi sir this David From Bangalore (India) iam using Cubase eliment n i dont have option generate harmony

This is why I've been using Cubase for many years. Always ahead of their time.

I don’t think I have EVER seen a more useful tool a beginner/intermediate singer can have for teaching themselves to sing harmony
How could we not like this guy? Not only he's a great teacher but he loves music just as much as we do :D
Well done Dom, amazing content!
Finally I've found you NEO.

That A over E thing really hits
Fantastic Presentation
You are the perfect ambassador for Cubase. You really know the programm and you know how to share your knowledge in an entertaining way. Love it.
Thank you very much, Dom!) An incredible feature given in a cool, comfortable way))) And, of course, your amazing intro music - it's awesome!!!))
Coolest feature ever seen in cubase... Thanks for introducing. Such a thing was not even expected. Thanks brother ,,🤸🤸🤸🤸🤸
Dom, thanks for the explanation. French songwriter, but former teacher in a completely different field, I appreciate the pedagogy and the clarity of your explanations... Bravo, FXL

Incredible posibilities. I`m a Cubase user for more than 30 years, but still surprised and deeply impressed about those features👍
This is a tremendous time and budget saving tool. Outstanding.

Best videos on TH-cam around Daw softwares...all i need to know about my best friend Cubase!!👏👏👏
Brilliant demo - that chord change from A to E Major - So cool :-)
I have learnt more things on this channel than I was thought for 4 years in the university😊😊

Is there a reason why the vocal is recorded in stereo?
Great tip! I’ve been working with cubase for years and didnt know this existed 😢
Flabbergasted! At last a Cubase genius to learn from. This is a game changer. Thank you for posting.
OK Dome ,that ist very cool Tipp s by you.Verry fantastic. Thanks man👍😃

Just working on a choir Christmas carol. We didn't really get any decent harmonies recorded but this technique will work beautifully to generate them from the many individual tracks we have. Cheers.
Thanks, never thought of using the delay function in the inspector view. *BOOM*
